104-year-old Ralph Waldo McBurney was recently honored as America's oldest worker at a ceremony in Washington. He talks with Steve Hartman about the key to living a long and satisfying life.
I want to be as sharp as him and still be able to walk like he did when I'm much older. What an amazing and very dedicated man. It's so funny that he outlived his own gravestone. Rest easy, Waldo. ❤️
Always good to see lucid, cognizant, productive senior citizens. Good job also for CBS to put forth a 'feel good' story amid all the horror and strife that often looks for ratings.
......I recall a lady in NSW here in Australia who was 103 and did voluntary work at the elderly care homes . Some of the folk she helped were in their eighties and young enough to be her children, she was still driving .
Seriously---why is it that certain people like Mr. McBurney live so incredibly long. Not only do they live far past the average person, but they remain physically fit and mentally alert. Is it genetics? Diet? Life outlook? What does science have to say about this?
dont smoke...dont drink...do what you think is fun. And eat healthy. That is the secret i think...and use your legs. So when you are that old you can still walk. This guy is very cool for being that old. Everyone he ever knew must be dead by now. :/
I loved his personally it is always sad for people of the living realm when people like that die and go to Heaven for Eternal Existence. He reminded me of my barber who died in 2015/ 2016 at age 87 yrs old.
Actually when you die I don't think it is scary or painful it just feels like entering into a dreamlike state when you have a really vivid dream except you don't leave that surreal airy state and you stay there for all eternity in a realm where time has no meaning. 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Crazy to think that he is just a little kid compared to 119 yr old Kane Tanaka of Japan who might live to become the newest oldest person in human history if she outlives Jeanne Calment 122 yr old lady of France.

I ordered a copy of his book when it first came out. I loved it!
Wow, that has got to be the greatest bragging right...living past the date on your head stone.
This guys my greatgrandfather ! :)
He was a great gentleman. May he rest in peace.
Thanks for the update - it's really good to hear he's still with us. He's very inspiring to a lot of people of old age.

zooeyhall mainly his diet, lifestyle and physical activity. He spent a lot of time running at the track, too.
I think he was active, engaged and did not use alcohol or tobacco. That's why he lived to 106.
Use it or loose it... he did live... and still does!
how nice to hear him, how nice to see
that's the true sign of a man
Thats awsome that hes still working at that age
yes thanks for the update.
I cant believe he is still working!!!

Drinking does not equal living.

Unless you get reborn into a new body and your conscious goes into that new body.🤔🤔🤔
I haven't found any other information about his but wikipedia. Where are the news reports?
This guys looks like a really great guy and all, but a license at 104?
Who would want to live to be that old?
Crazy to think that he is just a little kid compared to 119 yr old Kane Tanaka of Japan who might live to become the newest oldest person in human history if she outlives Jeanne Calment 122 yr old lady of France.
She just passed away actually but she did live to be the 2nd oldest person to ever live!! She beat the previous record by 10 days
@@mathieuschuler366 I always get teary when an older person dies it makes me think of my mom and her mom my grandmother. 🤧😮💨😰😩😩
@tylergenis I know, right???
good man
True that. Quality over quantity any day.

1:04 GRAVESTONE FAIL!

that was cool, his memory is like mine, but i guess i'm a pothead.
What an insperation
look at those ears!
He got to use that grave stone!
@tawboyle Oh trust me my ears are gonna be twice that size. I got some dumbo ears right now I can't imagine in 50 years what they'll be like.
the worlds oldest worker is not him.
Because you shouldn't need to drink to have a good time Angst?
Reminds me of my Grampa.
he looks like hes 56 and hes 104
That is not a 56 year old looking man
What's the point of being 104 when you havent drunk, or lived.
He had plenty of experiences. If you read this, trust me, you'll feel much better sober.
Dont drink and smoke weed and youll be 104.
its funny because u hear a lot more people being even older and they drink still till there death
THE FUCKING GRAVESTONE IM WEAK. I guess not all things *drum role* is set in stone
this man can't be 104...it's simply impossible...he can't be over 90...
HOLY EARS!
