      It would have been a lot harder on the Florida team's mental state to lose the Cup two years in a row being in the last series not to mention the how they would have lost. Edmonton couldnt make a final push. And this is due to a coaching error. Knoblauch double shifted the top 5 for half the game and they just didn't have the legs in the final minutes. I mean for fucks sakes Bouchard takes 5 seconds to stickhandle behind his net with 20 seconds to go. Hes exhausted. Had he just put those energy 4th line guys out (who were huge in the last 3 games) for a bit more ice maybe the story is different. Janmark, Brown, Foegle all showed that this wasn't just the McDavid show but in the last period they barely touched ice.

    • @akinieminen279
      @akinieminen279 Před 20 dny +6

      You’re probably right. The Janmark, Browns, Holloways have been given them fits with their speed.

      It was Florida's 3rd line on the ice at the end of the game. END OF THE GAME and it's the 3rd line closing out the first Stanley Cup in franchise history. That type of management from Maurice is why they won. He had confidence in his players, Knoblauch didn't.

      @algrundau9441 it's ok, the oilers will win as soon as they stop over paying for players. We had over 60 sellouts thus season and sold out every playoff game. Keep telling yourself no one in Florida watches if it helps you sleep at night. But the panthers have been top 10 in attendance for 2 seasons. In a place where there is actually things to do during the winter.

    Connor McDavid as the greatest of all time is just a 'now' talking point. I'm not a guy who says a player has to win to be great. If you even said third best, I'd be somewhat OK with it. He might one day be the greatest. Right now he is not. Having seen Gretzky in his prime and then watching Lemieux, there is no way that McDavid is better... just no way. McDavid is closer to Gretzky than Lemieux. Lemieux was a very different player than Gretzky. If the Panthers were to pick one for their team, I'd have no doubt it would be Lemieux with his ability to hold and control the puck without having to skate circles all over the place.
