  • Making a leather wallet, the DeNiro, start to finish. This version of the DeNiro wallet has a couple of slight modifications from the classic version, per the client’s request. Most wallets I’m able to make changes to, if asked.

Excellent as always! I’m intrigued by your squares and straight edges that you use to line up your patterns on the work piece. Are they something that can be bought or did you have them made? I’ve used a similar process in my own work but in the past I usually use whatever wood I had on hand. I’d really like to get something like what you’re using as it would be easier to use in my new indoor workspace.

Just discovered your CZcams page. Really enjoy your work. Well done! What stitching irons are you using in this video, if you're able to answer? Thanks.

@@MasconLeather I currently been using the Sinabrok European style pricking irons on 1 ounce leather, but they seem to work much better with thicker leather; not so well on thinner pieces. I've temporarily switched to a very cheap pair of diamond irons that work better, but they're only 4 teeth, so it's very difficult to get a consistent straight line on a large area. These look like they would work perfectly. Thanks again for the information.

Check eBay. Tons of 10 teeth diamond chisels on eBay.

Tools? That’s too vague a question. Which tool specifically?

Use a belt sander to get the edges symmetrical and even, then dye them black and use multiple applications of gum trag followed by burnishing with either wood or canvas cloth till they're polished clean.
