I don't think car manufactures were keen to build these. They were forced to by government mandates ( 50 MPG by 2030) and complete bans of ICE cars in some states. They wanted to stay in business so they grudgingly spent billion to stay in the car game, but then reality hit and they're in an economic hole because of it.
From what I've seen reported, E.V.s are being tagged, "throw away" cars when the OE battery is in replacement range. The cost of replacement is exceeding the value of the car. So owners are walking away. Add this to the host of E.V. issues that come with those cars. Fire risk, lack of charging stations, charging time requirements, insurance costs due to fire risk, climate impact on battery performance. Maybe the best option if you want to own one, is to lease it then turn it back.
EVs = the answer????? Nope!!! They are not even that environment friendly. Mining hazardous elements, questionable batteries, and terrible end of life recycling!!!!
'Software Patches' do NOT fix electro-mechanical issues. Just ask Boeing. Electrical connectors that are not capable of carrying the current desired, will overheat, and possibly melt the plastic housings.
Drawing the kind of voltage/amperage that it takes too fast charge these things is scary. Having a plug that is fool-proof is not possible. A tiny bit of arcing will damage any electrical component. Couple that with people that have absolutely ZERO mechanical/electrical knowledge, and you have a recipe for disaster. Look at how many people have issues filling up a fuel tank on their gas/diesel powered vehicle.
What better way to demonstrate stupidity than to buy an EV. They fail to deliver on any of the “reasons” for which some tyrannical governments mandate them. Except one. That one is helping to destroy the economy, forcing everyone to depend on said tyrants for their very existence. Stupid is what stupid does.

Recharging Lithium Ion batteries do not work in temperatures lower than 32F. Below this temperature, heat must be applied to the batteries in order to work….therefore battery range suffers in cold weather under 32F….
The Chevy recalls. Charge no more than 90%. Curs the range by 10% before any degradation or environmental factors. And keep a minimum of 70 miles range. Anothrr cut.
