I was hooked in watching volleyball because of Alyssa Valdez.. she's humble, she's an inspiration and she's phenomenal.
Yes..no matter what other people would say...the truth of the matter is...for me and my daughter and for millions of volley ball fans out there..Allysa Valdez is the greatest among them all.. she is legendary because of her charm and down to earth character that inspires people, Ally is the greatest factor that made volley ball stands out as a sport in this country, very inspiring...the one and only phenom...God bless you Ally..

No one will ever forget Valdez like how she changed the volleyball in the philippines together with Lasalle. I started loving volleyball when I saw valdez playing right on her first year. Grabe yung charisma nya talaga. No doubt all are legends and a good player.
Kung hindi lang siguro nainjure si ara, she, alyssa, and rondina would be the best trios today:( it’s sad that her injury didn’t heal that fast and she didn’t get her form back na:( pero, look at her now. She’s still dominating and contributing a lot parin talaga. She’s a very effective, talented, and smart player talaga.

Valdez is truly phenom. From HS to college. She became PH volleyball ambassador unintentionally.
Rondina is like Santos. An inspiration to all small players. And One of, if not the best all around player in UAAAP.

Pero let's not expect... Ilang years na syang di naglaro, pero I know na babalik sya... Sino Daquis and Maizo din naman ang lalakas pa din, pero yun nga, ang kaibahan kasi nagfocus sina Daquis for years sa volleyball while si santos medyo di na talaga
I think Illa Santos is the only player na walang gaanong hater from La Salle as far as I know... Kaya marami tlagang excited kahit mga supporters ng ibang team/school

Daquis overran bernal in scoring with lots of mvp's and match mvp's. Si Daquis din dahilan umalingaw-ang ang kasikatan ng Phil volleyball ngayon. Dati naglalaro lang ang uaap sa malilit na venues ngayon kahit moa arena ay napupuno na.
Ewan ko. Hindi ko nga kilala ang daquis na yam.

No DOUBT and UNDEBATABLY, c Valdez ang greatest outside hitter ng UAAP to date.. Daming mgagaling like bernal, daquis, rondina and santos. But among them, the only PHENOM is the greatest so far.. Why? Xa lng nman sa rason bakit may 2 championship na ang Ateneo. Na since time immemorial di tlaga nag champion. But because of valdez, Ateneo became champion twice and cemented her legacy in history of philippine volleyball. Yes, its true that Daquis popularized UAAP during her era. But only Valdez hooked millions of fans into UAAP now. During her first season of her uaap, people from all walks of life, age and gender got excited and became a fan of volleyball in an instant. That is how EXCITING valdez is.. 2nd, jan mo masusukat ang KAGALINGAN ng isang player tlaga, pag NAPA CHAMPION nya ang team nya. So much for ateneo na halos nakakaabot dati ng semis. But wen Valdez came, nag iba ang MUKHA ng phil womens volleyball.. 3rd, did sisi, daquis and other respected outside hitter hited from other countries league? Of course WALA db? Only Valdez and Jaja kinuhang import from outside the country.. Regardless kng ano performance nila doon, the FACT na kinuha silang import ng ibang bansa, says it ALL.. Na may potential tlaga cila at malakas.. 4th, napachampion ba ni sisi rondina ang UST during her UAAP years? A big NO.. So di mo talaga, masasabing one of the greatest c Sisi kasi daming aspect na xa ay nag fail.. Im not bashing sisi, in fact sobrang fan din nya ako.. But im just stating the facts. Yes, sisi is a very good individual player. But as wat ive said, sa achievement, malayo pa xa kay Valdez.. Tabaquero, Bernal, Santos, Daquis, during her time ba maganda nilaro nila during international match such as sea games? Db KALABASA ang national team natin during their era? But wen valdez came, anong nangyari? Mas confident na tayo at nkikita natin gaano nga nag improve ang laro natin. Not to mention, that we even beat vietnam dahil kasama na c valdez sa national team.. Of course its a team work and effort, but Valdez is one of the key factor tlaga.. 5th, naabotan nman ni daquis, tabaquero, maizo at iba pa c vañdez naglaro db? During Shakeys V league. Pero lahat cila di umubra kay Valdez. Iñang teams din tinulongan ni Allysa para mag champion outside UAAP.. Not to mention the fact, that sya lang nman ang may hawak ng higesht average of points during her UAAP years.. Ilang beses pang nag Best server, best scorer, best attacker/spiker.. At MVPs.. Wala na ako masabi.. ALLYSA VALDEZ is INDEED the GREATEST UAAP player to date.. Only her.. Runner up nalang yong iba like sisi, bernal, maizo, daquis, santos, tabaquero and many more.. Lastly, VALDEZ is the main reason kaya sumikat ng husto ang UAAP ngayon..

Ang pinakahalimaw sa laro: venus bernal. Grabe kapag humataw. Halos lahat ng palo, patay! At parang umuusok pa ang bola pagkatapos niyang hatawin. Hahahaha. Pangalawa ko naman si sisi rondina. Grabe yung energy sa laro. Hindi ko alam kung anong kinakain nito araw-araw at nakakatalon at nakakahataw nang matindi all throughout the game, kahit umabot pa ng 5th set! Pero ang pinaka idol ko talaga sa lahat ay si manilla santos. Super explosive! Dito yata nagmana si sisi rondina sa taas tumalon at humataw ng bola! Ang galing pang dumiskarte. Magaling bumasa ng depensa. Sobrang passionate din sa laro kaya nahahawa niya ang mga team mates niya. Kaya nga sa lahat ng seasons na nilaro niya sa uaap, palagi silang champion.
Special mention ko pala dito si mary ann manalo ng feu. Siya lang yata ang nakita ko na babaeng volleyball player sa pilipinas na sobrang tagal ang hang time kapag tumatalon na. Parang tumitigil ang oras kapag nasa ere na sya. Kaya hirap noon tumayming sa kanya ang mga kalabang blockers

@@suhayneil3084 , Alam mo ba ang "figures of speech"? Itinuturo kasi yan usually sa grade 4 or 5. At porke ba hindi sumali sa national team o hindi nakatikim na panalo under the national team ay hindi na dapat irecognize ang galing? Baguhan ka pa lang siguro sa volleyball kasi masyado kang sensitive. Hindi ko lang isinama ang idol mo sa top 3 ko, bitter ka na agad.

Charo Soriano is a good analyst. Her's are really insights. Others are very superficial, more descriptive. And I agree with Charo's picks especially Venus Bernal & Manilla Santos. On Valdez, here's was more of a hype, not really a standout as there are others of her generation as good as her. Venus & Manilla, they're the "it" players!
