  • After spending a few minutes admiring the Lake Lure Inn and Spa, we continued our drive, traveling through Chimney Rock, NC and ending up in Bat Cave, NC via US 64 West.
Chimney Rock is a village in Rutherford County, North Carolina, United States with various shops and restaurants. It is quite quaint with the Broad River running through it.

I think this region of the country is SOO unbelievably unsung given what it offers. I love the lushness of the scenery in this video. I'm from Illinois. I've been to NC multiple times with my family on vacations. My mother has Chinese ancestry, her family comes from Anhui province, and she's so drawn to North Carolina and the surrounding area because the climate and geographic environment are so reminiscent of Anhui.

Thanks for watching and sharing your wonderful story. Yes, I never realized this part of the country was so beautiful. The mountains and the lakes are breathtaking. I wish I visited sooner. And I may have to visit Anhui as well. :)

      Is it the kudzu? :)

@@breckrichardson390 No, Kudzu isn't really prevalent in eastern China. Just the lushness of the vegetation - the eastern US and China share a lot of species in common

Thank you! Yes, the lake and mountains are beautiful! A nice place to visit for a few days to get away from it all.

This is a beautiful area, fun little shops and restaurants too. But cell phone coverage is non-existent! How do residents even get emergency help? It's a major pain if you're traveling with a few people and you all want split up to follow your own whims. You'd have to use smoke signals to communicate!

I think some people driving to Bat Cave will be disappointed there is no Batman attraction

Yes, they would be, but at least they can get fresh apple cider from the many apple stands located throughout the area.

Agreed! And now with the exodus from cities I fear our most beautiful parts will be more and more over run, and leveled to create "luxury" living, only to hear them complain of why the internet is so bad hahah!!!!!
