I am haunted by this. They went to the ends of the earth to deliver this stunning, evil, mesmerizing, and utterly unforgettable version of this song. And they just dropped another, Whiskey in the Jar, an hour or so ago.
One of the things this video reveals is that while he is not as low a voice as Geoff, Layne, too, is capable of hitting the basement notes.
Layne Eli & J. None can go almost as low as Geoff. Sometimes it could be either one of them that fills in the background notes for Geoff while he is singing but most of the time Geoff's voice is layers/double tracked.

@@marshayoung9387 To be fair. Layne was a WAY TALENTED Bari-bass before, when this group had another Beat-boxer. He filled the J-none slot.
Layne has hit a A0 and probably below and he has gone up to the 6th octave (C#6 I believe)
When Geoff sings, 'it turning me to sin,' and lets sin fall so low from the sound. It's so epic-you can really feel Frollo's fall into hell. Without wanting to offend Disney, I like the version the guys are doing here even better than the original, which was really epic for a Disney song. And the little effect with fire in the eyes is wow. Pure goosebumps.
They really killed this! The Latin and Geoffs bass just really made it real for me. Awesome reaction! ❤

Great reaction, so glad you did this one! Couple of things - if you put the captions on (unless they are auto-generated), VP often slip some comments in, and for this one it would have shown you the Latin phrases the BV's were singing, also - the sound on the track was rather low compared to your voice...? Letting the video run through the Patreon names to the end is a good idea - they often have 'easter eggs' or some BTS clips at the end, especially on Geoff's videos! 😊 Subbed for more VP and Geoff...!! PS - you might enjoy their cover of Metallica's 'Nothing Else Matters', if you haven't seen it!

I watched this movie once when it first came to VHS. I was shamed and humiliated by my mother and sister for crying at the end. (sorry, just had to get that out)
I’ve never seen the movie in question, but I really enjoy this song.
It is a Disney movie based of the book.
The character singing the song is a priest/church official that has been rabidly persecuting the gypsies, who developed an obsession with the dancer Esmerelda. The She of the song.
I think you'd like Geoff's version of Jack's Lament.

I truly wish I could have a year long singing lesson with the God of all bass. I can do most of what he does but I don't think it is on the same level... maybe half level on each end.
Note too that Caesar isn't playing air guitar, he's actually making a note chord too as he does. Around when they sing "or else let her be mine and mine alone."

There are things that don't fit for me (e.i. multiple people, they aren't angry at all, and their singing stays beautiful the whole time) BUT Geoff's voice gave me frickin CHILLS. 7:14
