I've been helping and reaching my fellow Filipinos for more than a decade, since 2006, but without recording it on film.
I just decided to film the activities we do in 2015 to spread awareness.
This time guys: I need your help. I need your helping hands to give joy to Filipino families, one at a time.
How it works:
Your contribution goes straight to the individual/family we reach/help.
After we reached/helped 1 individual/family: We then move on to help another.
Our objective is to reach 1 economically poor individual/family, one at a time.
Important notes:
1. I personally don't receive/get/take/pocket any amount of financial contributions from you guys.
Your contributions go straight to the families we reach and to other expenses.
2. I do not publish on youtube the stories of the families we reach w/o a signed release agreement and parental/guardian consent.
The release agreement gives me a permission to publish their stories on youtube.
3. Business, personal and GoFundMe fundraiser accounts: All the funds, contributions, sources of income and other monetary sources that go into my accounts are being reported to the taxman. My bank also reports to the taxman every year, by the end of the year, FYI.
There's a Certified Public Accountant who does the accounting and auditing of my accounts.
The Certified Public Accountant reports to the taxman.
4. You don't need to open and register a charitable organization/foundation/institution to give help to people in the Philippines.
Reaching and giving help to people in the Philippines is not illegal.
There's no law that states, that you need to open and register a charitable organization/foundation/institution first, before you are able to give help to people legally.
5. GoFundMe checks the fundraiser account from time to time.
They sometimes ask for verification and validation.
The reason why I upload films/videos about poverty in the Philippines is to spread social awareness.
To combat economic inequality, social injustice, oppression, repression, abuse and exploitation:
1st: We have to be aware.
2nd: We should pay attention.
3rd: We are ought to do something about it.
We as Filipinos and citizens of this planet should not turn a blind eye, not to play deaf and not to pretend mute.
We as human beings have a responsibility to give care and to show compassion to others.
We as citizens have a great responsibility to safeguard our ball of genuine democracy.
We as citizens have a responsibility to fight tyranny and corruption.
A documentary film/video like this one is very important, because it opens our eyes to the unjust societal reality.
How could we turn a blind eye on social injustice and huge economic inequality?

Based on my experiences with the other crew in the past: They took advantage and became opportunists.
I explained it in this film.
Also, there was a lady (a former crew of this program) in the province in the past who also took of the advantage and also became an opportunist.
Damn, a lot of people are opportunists!
Cesar is not like them. Well, as far as I know.

I've been watching this CZcams channel for years now. Cesar really has his heart involved. He does his best. It can't be easy with you constantly posting those rude comments Everytime something is not done to your liking. You see the troubles he faces. Be the boss and support him. He definitely outshines several of the past helpers who thought they were celebrities.

Agreed. Get a new one for Manila but keep Cesar for provinces. Get someone who is willing to get into slums and do the difficult work. Cesar is good in provinces like the very first time you hired him after getting rid of your old Manila team.
I can't finance two teams nowadays.
Also, the monetary help we receive/get is not sufficient enough for reaching out families in Manila and the provinces at the same time.

@@rheamdc21 Then I’d say keep trustworthy Mister Captain Obvious Cesar is the best bet. Give him a male buddy who can go with him anywhere in the province who knows how to handle a camera and maybe good in communication too.
You definitely need someone who can communicate better without asking stupid questions sometimes. 😢
Keep Cesar in the background with the camera only and have someone with good compassionate communication skills doing the talking.

To be honest, Cesar is a very honest person also ... Delivery of items are also done without any stealing going on, so I also agree with those two persons comments.👍🙏

The problem: People only see the stain in a white shirt. People don't pay attention to how white the shirt is. People always look for a tiny stain.

Yeah. Truth hurts. I stopped watching this video because it's too boring and repeating. Not because I watch poverty as my entertainment 😅
I do think someone new doing the videos would make them more interesting for a little while just because the manner they'd do them in would be new and different. But I think the real problem is the fact that, as you say, most of these people's stories are the same so there's not much you can do to make them more interesting to people who have heard the same stories before. It would eventually get old again, and on top of that the new person might also end up being untrustworthy. So probably not worth it. Having him go into Manilla more instead of the province would probably be more interesting since there is probably more of a variety of situations people are in there.
You don't need to fire Cesar but you can give him another job and let a new person do the interview.
Cesar and the girls we all love. Please don't consider getting rid of them. Let them also go to Manila. They did before and it was just fine.
I don’t think Cesar is the problem… I think the problem is many people especially in the U.S. are in self preservation mode. With the uncertainty in our divided country people are not focused on others. It’s funny you mention California…California has spent $20 Billion Dollars on just homelessness in the last 5 years and the problem is WORSE! California accounts for 12% of the population but has 30% of the homeless population and 50% of the unsheltered population.

Cesar should not be replaced, he is too good and you would not find anybody else doing such a good job. I saw many people and this type of a kind of friend is very rare personality.

I would just like to see the questions that are asked to be more about the families background and not just things like how many times do you eat in a day, Do you know how poor you are, what do you want to become when you are older, etc. Cesar is caring but he needs to expand his conversations with the families.. I’m sure he can do it.

Cesar makes lots of mistakes, but I think he is genuinely a nice guy and loyal to you.
I agree that he does ask obvious and repetitive questions and needs to shoot more action videos. If possible maybe hire another person and take turns in the interview.
mark suggest ,the children and mommies always look so hungry give them a drink and treat so they can enjoy the gift giving and after filming like signing documents,let them cook a bit rice& meat and drink then do full fledge ..just a suggestion

What kind of program your editor is using? I know that the information is so much better than the editing itself. But he is using a very basic editing program.
Besides I have been a subscriber since ever to this channel. I have lost interest when you changed the 2 girls at the beginning and the way you've been dealing with these poor people. You evolved in the deepest, but changed a lot of your content.
Just imagine, that I am not re-editing, retouching and correcting Cesar's films. That's all I can tell you.

Cesar doing both video and talking, the old team had better videos cuz one was interviewing and other was camera person. The current team sucks cuz hes doing both and dont got the skills to multitask on the fly. Get rid of him or make him not the interviewer and just the camera person.

If there's anyone in Manila that you possibly trust train them with open end questions. I guess a contract wouldn't matter because they can relocate to another town. I would say pray on it.

Cesar and the girls have been with you for a while, have been loyal and you trust them. In my opinion it's understandable things have become a bit stale and something fresh is required but you should keep them. Maybe bring in somebody on a short term contract who can mentor Cesar, someone who can take over the interviews and direct Cesar to film the things you want him to film, someone who can give Cesar fresh new ideas. It's also worth remembering people are struggling globally both financially and with the constant fear in the media, it's hardly any wonder contributions have taken a downturn.
Yeah Cesar is loyal but I agree there needs to be new content on the channel because its always the same and it would be nice to get new people

Keep Ceasar as a cameraman and get an interviewer that's not afraid to ask the difficult questions. Even if it's cringe to watch it attracts more views, we need more shock an awe videos to keep viewers interested

I don’t think you should get rid of Cesar. I think he wants to do well. I think if anything you should replace the girls. Cesar carries the girls most of the time. The girls always seem uncomfortable and uncertain what to do. I like them but maybe they just aren’t a good fit for this kind of situation.
I thought our food comes from all over the United States plus Mexico and a few other countries not just California we have farms everywhere,plus ranches that raise live stock like cattle,hogs,goats,lamb,chickens so we be not dependent on other countries, but we do also like to help other countries by buying and using what they produce

You gave him 4-5 years and your channel is bleeding. Over half a million subscribers but with only 2 thousand views. People started watching this channel because of the format and how previous host made the viewers feel but now you can tell by the viewers numbers that’s people stopped watching more and more as Ceasar was the host.

I definitely think that Manila is much more interesting. I'm so sorry things didn't work out with your previous team. They did a fantastic job interviewing people, but I understand that you had your reasons for letting them go. Cesar seems like a wonderful human being, but his interviews are very boring. Everyones story in the provinces seem exactly the same. Would he be willing to go to Manila and be the cameraman, and perhaps you can find someone else for the interviews? I wish you all the best, and I hope it all works out.

I absolutely adore Cesar but truth is he is not doing a great job with interviews. We are just used to him. I would have thought he would improve eventually but he hasn't. I would hate for him to lose his job but an upbeat person with better communication might be needed. You might want to keep him as a camera/general admin person as he has invaluable experience in this job already.
You should also try to not be too harsh when employees break the rules, i.e. taking (stealing) some things for their own families as long as it's not excessive. I say this because it is likely that no matter who you get, there might be too much temptation for them, especially looking at their own circumstances.

Honestly Mark you are opinionated. It seems that you find fault in those around you as well as the places you reside. All is well but posting that and slamming the person who has devoted his heart to this program to help his people because you are annoyed with things he does or doesn't do. Not a good look for you. Nah he cool, he's not a professional journalist so we cant expect him to always ask the right questions and we dont. But its funny seeing you give him crap about his work haha, like friendly banter to a friend, its hilarious, this channel wouldn't be the same without it, maybe just give him a physical checklist of questions to ask or give him some training or let him watch training videos about being a journalist, its an actual skill, he just needs to develop it.
It is not friendly banter to a friend. It is being rude to the people who work for you and you know you can say what you want no matter how offensive it is.
