Hello friends. We are lucky that for us who like to travel there is such a wide choice of medium-sized backpacks available. This time I’m going to show you the Direct Action Dragon Egg 25l backpack.
The first thing I liked about this bag was the MOLLE system. The slits are cut with laser, therefore any MOLLE attachment will fit perfectly, and you can easily increase the capacity of the backpack in different arrangements.
The backpack is made of durable nylon fabric, which means the pack will not let you down for many years - and the same goes for all the seams and zippers.
Let’s look at the compartments. This upper pocked is very convenient for things we need to access quickly, for example sunglasses and head torch.
Now to my favorite compartment - the office compartment. It can be opened completely, and I have a quick access to such essential things as smartphone, power bank and other items that can be easily organized in this pocket.
What else should we take on a one-day hike? Definitely - water. There is a deep and elastic side pocket that keeps the water bottle safe in place.
I always choose a metal bottle, because you can unscrew the cap and put it in the camp-fire if it is necessary to boil water.
There is also an identical pocket on the other side of the pack.
And the main compartment where you can fit much more. I have packed a wind- and water-resistant jacket, hygiene bag and of course - a first aid kit. In the very bottom I have a second set of clothes if I happen to fall in water.
Inside there is a big pocket for the hydration system. Many people use such hydration packs on their back and put on the backpack afterwards. It is not recommended in this case, because the ventilation system will not be effective. This ventilation system provides increased comfort for the user.
Optimal weight for a 25-liter backpack should be around 10-12kg.
As this is a modern era, there is an additional back compartment for laptop or tablet and a hydration bladder.
There is a central hydration tube port for water output. Another great feature is this paracord drag handle which can be untied to use the cord when necessary.
On the bottom there are two straps which can be used to attach bigger items, such as mat, sleeping bag or even both.
This is a very durable, middle-sized, 25-litre backpack. Great value for money.
