    I really just couldn't get the glidepath fix and would just keep going over the nav points. Essentially the approach mode would never go active to control my decent. After tons of research I found this is a common problem in MSFS2020 especially with the G1000. The issue it turns out is that the glidepath intercept is lower than indicated on the landing plates. Just going a few hundred feet or so (sometimes more) the indicated intercept point I found the glidepath would catch and start to bring me down and everything worked from there. Hope this saves some others the frustration i had after hours of repeated attempts without success.
    IF YOU DONT CATCH THE GLIDEPATH AND THE PLANE WONT DESCEND ON ITS OWN, INTERCEPT THE GLIDEPATH AT A LOWER ALTIDUDE.

    Idk man that was barely visual for minimums :P And you were sayin you wouldve taken over earlier lol good landing

    • @aeroplod
      @aeroplod Před 6 měsíci

      I can't see why anyone landing in zero vis would take over from the ap prior to seeing at least the runway approach lights. It is a good way to lose visual bearing of where the runway actually is. A gust of wind and now you're looking off to the side expecting to see the runway which could be 10 or more degrees off where you think it is. The GPS would be too sensitive at this point to resolve that.
      Best wait for a visual before disengaging ap on rnav. Even then you might lose them in a sudden downpour. In bad weather it is best practice to utilise every assistance to ensure an accurate landing.
      Just sayin'.
      Cheers

    • @InsideAgameR
      @InsideAgameR  Před rokem

      Rnav basically the same apart from it disengage at minimus where eyou need to land where is can take you all the way in and autoland with some air raft

    • @WyMustIGo
      @WyMustIGo Před 6 měsíci

      No. Because not all RNAV has vertical (glide path) navigation. You have to manually manage the glide path using the chart, the GPS will not do it if the RNAV you're using doesn't support all the newer features for LNAV.
      Bottom line: RNAV approaches have a supported category on the chart, the ONLY categories that support vertical navigation are: LPV and LNAV/VNAV. If the only category is LNAV, then that RNAV approach does NOT have vertical support. So no, not all RNAV = ILS, it depends on the airport and also the number and quantity of satellites you have a signal from.
