I'm 5'11. I was a lot shorter in high school and got roasted a lot for it because the average guy in my class was 5'10. I had a growth spurt after graduation and people treat me differently now. I'm not tall but I'm not short enough for it to stand out like before.
Note: I measured my height for the first time in about a year and I'm actually 5'11 (181 cm) now so I edited it from 5'10.

I think a big problem with people lowballing someone's height also comes down to their own warped perception of it. Being a full head taller than someone is not being 5" taller than them. That is more likely being 7" - 9"(maybe 10 in extreme cases) taller than them. A problem that isn't helping people's case are guys lying about their height. Two generic examples that come to mind are 5'7 guys claiming 5'9, and 5'10 guys claiming 6'0 which could cause some shorter girls to lowball. People listing their waking height when being asked are doing this but on a 2 times smaller scale (minimum height).

My girlfriend is 5'6 and i'm 5'9, she told me that i'm noticeably taller from her perspective. She goes to church, doesn't cuss, and doesn't go to partys. We are not from the US, I used to live in the US and from what i've seen its part of the culture to judge people based on their looks, for example since middle school kids get put into groups like the nerds, popular kids, weird kids etc. Where we live its not like that, you are you and you are unique.

Reminds me of this study implying if you were below average, every inch you gained toward being average has a huge impact. But once you exceed average, you have diminishing returns. And I believe the study said it’s because women instinctively are seeking mates that are taller than most people that we encounter rather than just taller than them. I’m 5’ 3’’. I struggled in the dating scene for so many years but not in the party scene. When you’re a cool and fun guy to hang with, people seem to not care too much about your height. My body count is a two digit so I’m not missing out on much. What helped me a lot is having a clean ride, nice outfit, fit body, and lots of friends. If you’re an all around cool guy to hang with then you’ll definitely score a date with about 10-20 of girls interaction. It’ll take you more tries being a shorter guy but that’s the reality. I like to slowly get to know a girl and not go straight into asking her out. My approach is a more secure approach vs others just go straight cold approach. I tend to have less girls than my friends but when I shoot my shot I tend to have more confidence and better accuracy.

My ex wife was 5'4" as well..height was never an issue, my closest ex gf was 5 even, which felt awesome on my end. Tallest I dated steady was 5'6" and she was fine with it, I just was uncomfortable.

I'm 5'5. It only matters on dating apps or online dating, which is due to how a woman's perception of a man is and/or their own insecurities. Once you can maximize what you can do in your own body while making a woman feel secure and comfortable, all that height stuff goes out the window. Sure, there is a demographic who has a preference, equivalent to women who are "size queens" in the bedroom. Every woman is not going to like you, but there are a lot of women who will, especially if you have an inviting personality. I truly never had issues once I got past the societal stigma and my own insecurities.
Confidence will always matter regardless of height. I’ve had classmate in high school who was 5 ft 2 still was known to be a player.

Most female shoe’s add up to about 1.5-2.5 inches not including boots or heels that likely add 3-4.5 inches so that can be a factor in why when it comes to height their judgement can be a little bit absurd.

People actually underestimate how tall 6 foot actually is, I’m 6’0 and a half but I usually round to 6’1. And many people think I’m 6’2 especially because I’m also an ectomorph.
If you're 6' and people frequently guess you're 6'2" that means they overestimate your height, not underestimate it.

Being tall is good but just height alone does nothing. You gotta be well built, strong and attractive. I'm 6'3" but it hasn't been much of an advantage because I'm too skinny and average looking. However, don't get me wrong, Id still rather be tall than short regardless of if it helps with dating or not.

its true. My older brother is half an inch taller than me but he's very stocky so literally every single person thinks im a few inches taller than him. To the point that everyone describes him as "your shorter bro". Actually, I genuinely believe your height perception is one of the most underrated components to attractiveness. Like does your body structure make you look taller or shorter than your stated height. Take 2 guys who are 5 9 but one has low shoulders and a big head and the other one has a small head and high shoulders, almost all women will find the second guy tall and the first guy short.

As a short guy myself I say it matters a lot, specially if you cold approach. But you choose use your weapons wisely.
Learn social skills, have good mood, be a fun guy and learn to use social media effectively. You will always have at least a few women in your DM

5’8 is the bare minimum pass. Guys need to remember the main issue is being shorter than then men around you. If she notices you’re shorter than other men (so 5’7 and under even 5’8 in rare instances) that’s when the issue starts.

good post bro. your post reminded me of a thought I had. The pro of being a short man is that the women you do tend to deal with will have more of a genuine aspect about them, because if they like you, theres a higher chance that its because of you are as a person. If you're a tall guy, yeah you have more options, but alot more of those options are way more superficial, so theres a higher chance that girl only really likes you cause you're tall. Plus, if you're a tall guy, theres more chances of you dealing with really crazy ass women, just because you're pool of women is larger.
