swear i can never get enough of stargate. no scifi show like it and the only show i was super excited for... when both sg1 and atlantis played i was in heaven... 2 hours of new stargate once a week friday for 20 weeks of the year. I have re-watched every episode soo many times that I say the punch lines before said.
I wish more show's did visual memory recall like this where they recreate the scene from the character's perspective rather than show the same clip from an external perspective (the camera man)

Ship self-destructing would likely deploy a probe with all the data it could grab from the ship's computer, as well as document the self-destruct event as it happened so Starfleet would know what happened. Said probe would then make its way to the nearest starbase, advertising its position on Starfleet coded frequencies for retrieval. There were probes even in the 23rd Century that could travel at warp speed. That's one way how such footage would be had. That data would have cleared Kirk of the charge of destruction of the Enterprise, as it would show it to be necessary to prevent the Enterprise from being captured by hostile forces. If he had a formal inquiry and court martial, of course.

I love Sam and Tilk's facial expressions, its so subtle but Sam is just screaming it was O'Neil The balance of comedy and action in this show was unparalleled, it became the reason to say home on a friday night.

But then it's a fake and you throw the general in the brig. Turns out the general is really some guy dying of cancer with about a month left to live.
You know, I've heard scientific philosopher types talk about the evolutionary necessity of sociopaths, in that it can be necessary for the survival of a group, tribe, or species that a member be absolutely emotionally distant or apathetic when doing, considering, or inventing courses of action that would horrify most people. This? This is the sort of thing they were talking about. Your sick mind would have likely saved a lot of people here.
One of my many favorite scenes from the show. On a little side note, it's occasionally implied that Daniel's ascension left some mark on him despite the memory loss thing, and i wonder if it has something to do with the fact that in this episode he seems to be the only one being able to recall any memory from the possession and also immediately identify that it's Anubis. I kinda wish this idea was explored a bit more. 😁
Man it was total comedy gold when at about 00:43 Sam does her thing with the eyes and there's Teal'c and ONeil seems to get that both Sam and Teal'c gave him away but he wants to weasel out of admitting it 🤣🤣😂😂
For context- this is after Anubis tried to invade earth but his ship was obliterated by ancient drones. Since he was partially ascended, he was able to survive as a disembodied entity.
It'd be interesting to ask the writers whether Anubis in the TV series was inspired by Ra from the film. Film Ra also did the body-hopping possession thing
I don't get why anubis never just possessed the president and took over the world, could easily gain gate access after that and he'd basically have a massive army that's trusted by all the advanced races. He could create a new sg team and have them steal from the asgards or trick them into 'meeting' somewhere he set a trap at. At the very least he could steal all the tauri knowledge and sabotage diplomatic relationships to ensure we're no longer a serious threat considering how big of a thorn in his side we were. He's immortal and untouchable so there wasn't much of a rush to escape...
