Tee shirts and jeans are classic, timeless, and sexy. In this video men's style, grooming, fitness and lifestyle expert, Aaron Marino of IAmAlphaM iamalpham.com/... & Pedro peteandpedro.c... Hanley www.tiege.com/... both the fit of your jeans and your tee depend on your body type. The five types are tall, short, skinny, heavy-set, and jacked.
TEE SHIRT GUIDELINES FOR ALL MEN
Tee shirt sleeves should hit mid-bicep. Tee shirt fits are regular which are boxy and slim fit/athletic cut (which Alpha highly recommends). Collar choices are v-neck, crew, and Henley. Details include pocket (classic and casual) and no pocket, different hems (classic/straight, split, elongated). For all body types, don't ever wear a tee shirt that covers your crotch. Your upper body will look super long. With Cuts Clothing, you get to pick the hem and the collar. They also sell long sleeve Henleys where again you can pick the hem. The white crew neck is classIC, which Cuts' version is perfection.
WHAT TEE SHIRT IS RIGHT FOR YOU?
The Skinny Dude -- avoid dark tee shirt colors, instead go with whites, brights, and light blues. The neck should be a v-neck to add structure and strength to your shoulders.
The Short Dude -- the contrast between your shirt and pants are not drastic. Your upper and lower body should be as seamless as possible by wearing the same tones to create a visual illusion of length and height. Also wear fitted, slim fit, or athletic.
The Heavy-Set -- wear darker tones to look smaller (blacks, dark grays, navy blue). The collar should be v-neck to create strength and structure with angles -- shoulders will look broader with a smaller waist. Avoid too slim or tapered shirts -- you need a classic tee that is boxy but not too big or long.
The Tall Dude -- your tee shirt should fit without being super tight (which would make you look taller). Wear light or dark; wear a crew neck; wear any hem you want.
Jacked Dudes -- you can go with either collar. Don't wear skin tight shirts because you'll look like a douche. Look for instead, a tee shirt that is snug in the right places.

I don't know if anybody else feels the same but as a skinny dude I've found that t shirts that have the collar closer to your neck and shorter in length make you appear more built than t-shirts with wide collars or long t-shirt because they give the visual effect of broader shoulders and upper body. Longer or wider fits accentuate that impression that you're "swimming" inside your clothes.

*Small t shirt
*mix in Lighter color t shirts. (Best for tall & skinny/athletic guys)
