I can't choose. But this one is always party in the house. Israel with Halleluja is a feel good song and an evergreen.
But most of the time my favorite song ends 2nd like last year or 8th or doesn't reach the grand final at all. Like Switzerland with Era stupendo. I thought that one was going to win by a laaaaandslide. It was spot on. I guess being neutral as a country does not give you lots of friends. 🤔
This one is in my playlist in English for years. This kind of songs made me fall in love with Eurovision.

I remember this performance very well, which made many girls' hearts beat faster... mine too. And so typical of the 80s: shrill, colorful, bizarre and, from today's point of view, sometimes hilarious.

You were correct Eurovision was more civilised in the last century when the contest was held in small theatres ,in the audience was the Luxembourg Royal Family.

Years later in 2019 they participated in a special show with Eurovision winners. They even managed to do some of the dance moves they did so many years ago when they were so much younger.

Also bring back the orchestra! I mean for real, live bands just adds something to a performance. (says the girl that plays in an orchestra)
Ah, yeah, I remember this one. Such an iconic trio.
As you notice they switch to English in the middle of the song. The reson is that this performance was done after they won, you kan see the number "1" in the background. Before 1999 all countries in ESC must sing in a official language of their country (except between 1956-1965 and 1973-1976).
Nowadays you can sing in whatever language you wont, or even invent a new.
Because of The Eurovision song contest i could Stay up late but i also remember all those ..🤬..songs.
That was Tommy Körberg who dubbed Herreys the "dancing deodorants" because they were so clean-cut and wholesome. And indeed they were clean-cut and wholesome. Still are. I love this song and their performance of it.

I love the 80's. I am fortunated to grew up in it. The movies, the music : all just great! I have seen Live Aid live in 85. Those who are born in the 80's missed a lot. Im really sorry for them. Luckely there now is internet/youtube so every one can enjoy! I remembered this very well. The Herreys haha, we copied it at school.

I have the DVD. I was too young to go. But the television was on all day. Live Aid U.S.A was dissapointing i.m.o. but Wembley....A young Spandau Ballet...

84 was a good year and there were plenty of songs I'd rather have won over this - such as Italy, Netherlands, UK, Switzerland, Portugal, France, Luxembourg, Norway.
