Oh wait until season 4. The tone gets darker and hopeful at the same time. The rest of this season gets serious and season 4 gets into some tough subjects.
The end credits on season 4 broke my heart. Kaldur reflecting on his failings, and Clark crying to his son about the loss of a friend… had me on the floor in tears 😅😅

Yeah, the one thing that I wish more comics would concentrate on is the Super family. Not Just Louis and Clark, but Also Connor, Karen (Power Girl) and Kara (Super girl) as an extended family.
Superboy has some of the most unintentional, hilarious moments in the series. Bro just chucked a God out his chair like it was nothing 😂
It’s funny how they hated super boy and now love him. They thought he was sexist and all these thing s that were uncalled for. Sadly today people have so much options of television to watch that they drop shows before characters can show their progression then cry about the fact that no-show has good character development. There’s just too many options of other shows to watch that give you instant satisfaction, but in the long run, they don’t become classics. Shows that do this become classics a show where you know all the stuff is frontloaded so people won’t cry about the story being bad, they won’t last as long as these types of shows Imo though there are exceptions.

@@PeterStone-hy6ir Naw i recall them getting mad that he was being rude to woman and how he was grumpy when fans explained he's young and so on they dismissed it and kept going how he's annoying. Just saying this is why i give characters a chance. Otherwise character development has to happen super quick or people complain. For example i love the development of Demon slayer's lightning boy and it takes the slow approach (for today's standards) and its so satisfying to see but people hate him or that one main character from tokyo revengers...finally seeing him throw a good punch is great. Today people complain and call good development a minor issue being resolved in like one episode so their main characters are nearly flawless with a few minor hickups. Just my two cents though im in no way fully correct on that and tons of people like the development i mentioned still.
@@nichescenes I hear you but they never did that with SuperBoy.. there was a scene in episode 4 that they thought was about her (M’Gann) being a girl and misinterpreted it. They’ve always been fans of SB. You’re probably confusing them with someone else.

It's impossible not to cry watching Young Justice, which is another great quality.
Also, originally, the Marvel universe was behind the Source Wall. But now, I think it's giant cosmic writers.

This was a really well done episode. So many plot threads that came together this episode + interwinding real life and world issyes into this super hero and fantastical world is really dope to see. I thought you guys had a really good discussion about this all.
Fun fact, Batman temporarily became a God by sitting in the Mobius chair. He only sat in it for a couple of minutes and said something about the power being too great for one man to have. You know how Batman is.

Suraj - the source wall and celestials were actually both created by Jack Kirby. He had left Marvel in the 70’s and wound up working at DC where he created the New Gods and many of their iconic cosmic characters. At Marvel he co-created Captain America, The X-Men, Thor, Hulk, The Avengers and many others.

the Source Wall and the Promethean Giants in it look like Celestials and something out of the Eternals because they were created by the same guy, Jack Kirby, in the 70s. so, it's not the typical "Marvel/DC did it first and DC/Marvel copied it". Kirby is known as "The King" of comics for a reason, a lot of well-known comicbook characters were created by him and a lot of references in comicbook movies or series are references to his work or inspired by him.
also, Suraj's impression of Gordon Godfrey was on point!

So not so much stole as moved, see the New Gods were created by the legendary Jack Kirby this includes the Source Wall, the New Gods and the Forever people as Kirby had left Marvel to work for DC back in 1970 after creative differences with Stan Lee. Kirby would return to Marvel 5 years later needed a break from his time at DC where he would create the Eternals including the Celestials. So they look and have a similar feel to them as they were both the creations of Kirby in the 70’s

Harper Row becomes part of the bat family. She is a tech whiz and takes on the name Bluebird. I may be wrong, but I think Bruce has her brother put into Gotham Academy.
The Celestials were created by Jack Kirby in the Eternals back in the 70s, the Source Wall was created in the 80s during an X-men/Titans crossover.
The faces on it are dead New Gods, and were meant to look like Jack Kirby designs, that's why they reminded you of Celestials

The celestials and the new gods were made by the same guy!!! Jack Kirby really loved mythology and the idea of ancient space gods (he also basically created Thor).
The new gods are new genesis (forever people, forager who is a native of the planet) and apokolips (darkseid and co)

it sucks cause Super Heroes in theory could fix a lot of things but to that they risk turning into the people they are fighting against. Which is a theme brought up in this show with Batman where Wonderwoman is like look your methods are getting results but you are basically behaving no better than the enemy right now.
It's funny you mention Batman, because some people argue he could do a lot more as Bruce Wayne than he can as Batman 🤔.

@@CLDJ227 Gotham as we see is what it looks like *with* Batman and Bruce Wayne's contributions. I don't think we've ever seen it before they stepped in. Also much like Spider-Man people would burn DC down if they ever made a Bruce Wayne show with no Batman so we don't get to see any of the policies and programs he's putting in to try and help the city instead of fighting a Cuban the size of Broly.
Surj is right it's not a kids show. But that's because by the time seasons 3 and 4 came out the audience that grew up with these episodes were going through: mental health, sexual identity, relationships complexities and other adult themes.
Something that I appreciate is that we are these characters and these characters are us. DC has always taken gods and made them mortals. Why does an alien who is Unmatched in every way want to have a job as a reporter, and pay bills. It's to see the human condition and know that their powers can't solve everything.

DC didnt steal the Eternal-esque stuff from Marvel. Jack Kirby who invented The New Gods (who were originally an idea he was gonna use for Marvel) went to DC with the idea instead and years later came back to Marvel and created the Eternals, hence why The New Gods and Eternals share alot of design and story elements.
Only a villain could fix the world on that level because a villain is the only type of person who would take away humanities free will and destroy without trial. To destroy the world and rebuild it is not something a hero can do. Unfortunately villains rarely have a good idea of a perfect world. More often they will just build a broken nightmare.
Its up to humanity to solve their own problems.
Jack Kirby is responsible for both Marvel's Celestials and Eternals and DC's New Gods so the resemblance between the two is understandable.

Regarding the foster homes discussion, from media/tv shows/movies it seems like siblings that are seperated never have contact with each other and such? shouldn't they be allowed to talk to eachother whenever they want? Like if i adopt a 9 year old kid I sure as hell would let him or her have any contact they want with their family as long as that person is not the one who is abusive

Metron isn't God he is of the "new god" race. Bear and the Forever People are also new gods. Its like how Thor is a "god" but is really just an asgardian.
DC is different than Marvel in that Gods are a type of being not a race of people. Zeus, Thor, and etc... are the same higher level being.

So let’s do some DC lore, the Source Wall is the barrier of the Universe. Yes the DC Universe is not infinite is bound by the Source Wall beyond is the Source and depending on who you ask that’s either True GOD, the blank sheet of paper upon which all stories are written or the Marvel Universe. There is a singular Source Wall for the entire infinite Multiverse But each universe vibrates at a different frequency so anyone who appears at the source wall will be on a different server of the same place... essentially.

I`m sorry, but Marketa needs to chill on the whole hating dad vibe. Not a single person is born knowing how to be a parent. You can read about it, talk to people about it, but actually having kids is a different story. Some are good at it and some are bad at it. You can tell Silas is trying his best his way and unfortunately he does not know how to express or show it.
Yeah, but Silas only started trying to be a good father after Vic became Cyborg. Before that, he was an unapologetically terrible father, having impossible expectations that Vic still lived up to, but it still wasn’t enough, ignored all his sons interests and achievements and just seemed to have a general disdain for spending time with Vic when he could be doing science. When your kid is like 17 or 18, you should know at least the basics of being a good parent by then, and everyone has the right for hating the guy after he only started caring for his son when he was literally dying or became a new science project to work on. Silas can be forgiven, but the guy is gonna need to earn it.
