I really wanna know if he's good with Dori or not to be honest. If you build dori into full Exile's artifact set just the biggest dori battery you could possibly make and see if that improves his DPS

I love when they add characters that find regional resources after all the characters in that region are already built lol

Can still help, since usually the first character that can find materials is a 5 star like Klee, tighnari, lyney ect.
Sadly, not everyone has Tighnari.

not everyone already has sumeru characters built, i started in 1.0 and just built my first dendro (tighnari) a few months ago even though i got him on release because building other characters and maxing them is more important to me. im just now starting on my nahida and i got her on release too. i dont even have one fontaine character built yet.
He sounds pretty versatile, for open world exploration anyway. Charge attacks for tanky enemies, burst mode for groups of enemies
And he's rlly useful to farm sumeru local specialties if you don't have Tighnari

The CA comes handy when the enemy has a little bit of HP left but you don’t want to use the whole burst, or if enemies have weak spots

There's a team that actually works really well with Sethos and it involves the Electro Traveler. Electro Traveler can actively replenish Sethos' energy while off-field with the help of their burst.
Sethos 4 charge shot restriction only applies to his level 2 charge shot. It does not apply to his level 1 charge shot. Meaning, you actually dish out more damage if you spam level 1 shots, which only costs half as much energy. Nitro (The Amber Main guy) did 10 charge level one shots of 50K damage each.
Which actually puts his total damage output to 500,000 from 10 level 1 shots as opposed to 360,000 from 4 level 2 shots.
Its also worth noting that charge level 2 cannot hit weakspots, but level 1 can. Charge level 1 also has no ICD

Swapping off fischl for electro traveller is a huge dps loss I guess it's alright if you don't care about overall team dmg

@@ranjithrasu8962 Well, have a look at n1tr0t0m with a "Machine Gun Sethos" build and Electro Traveler. If its really not that much slower, then I don't think its a huge dps loss.

having a 3 star weapon outperform a lot of of 4-star and 5-star weapons is already really great for a character.
He actually would've been kinda decent if we can aim cancel in his burst state, but that would've make him a bit hard/sweaty to use. Though i know some people are crazy enough to learn machine-gun gorou 😂 (which is way harder than the n2 aim-cancel)

Had barely any wishes but REALLY wanted him and managed to snag a single copy, i'm so happy I love his design and his playstyle is so cool and characters that are fun in exploration are always a plus.
Meanwhile, doing a couple pulls to get him only netted me a Clorinde. thereby fucking up the saved pulls I've been saving for a wrioslethy rerun. And then I get sethos after couple more pulls. Thanks sethos 😒

Amusingly, Electro Traveler is one of Sethos' best supports. Each talisman from EMC's skill gives Sethos just just enough energy for another level 1 charge shot to get up to 12 Level 1 Charge Shots.
You can even abuse quick charge mechanics to spam his Level 1 Charge Shot in rapid succession. And here's the fun part, his Level 1 Charge Shot DOES NOT have ICD so he can proc Aggravate with every shot. He quite literally doesn't ever need to use his Burst once you master the quick charge shots.
A team of Sethos, EMC, Kirara, and Nahida is a solid Aggravate team for him.
what they wanted to do is childe except both styles can compete with one another in some way shape or form

@@rekt6641 In theory, Childe can be either built for charge attack sniping, where repeatedly hitting the same enemy triggers his mark on them to do small AoE hydro explosions, or as a melee burst damage dealer by using his skill and getting close and personal. Unfortunately, 99% of people just hate the charge shot play-style (mostly because it's unwieldy on mobile), so he's always built around the second option.

Tignari, Sethos, Nahida + flex quickswap quicken team seems fun
meh, not really cuz sethos doesn't apply enough electro off field for that to work and its weird to run 2 dps on the same team.
@@bellamoon5861to be fair, quicken doesn’t necessarily need to have Fischl levels of electro application, which is where the flex spot comes in if there isn’t enough anyways. By constantly swapping between Sethos and Tighnari, you still continue to apply the electro and Dendro elements to maintain the quicken aura
@@reyesle6709 tighnari has no ICD so he should constantly be proccing spread. you have to have constant electro app for quicken or it defeats the point. im not gonna spread once every blue moon when i can just use yae instead and spread all my charge attacks. and it disrupts your rotation to constantly swap between the two.
I'm running similar, but Baizhu instead of Nahida and my fourth slot is Fischl in single target or Beidou in multi target.
I really like him! At the moment I have him at lvl70, talent level 6, c0, and slingshot and I am hitting around 32k per charge shot which is pretty cool!
what is your team comp ?
@@Tuffyimpact At the moment I am using C6 fischl, C0 Nahida, and C0 Baizhu. It is probably loosing a lot of DPS because of Baizhu but I love him so I had to add him to the team.
@@graysonnorman6210 You lose a lot, but as I saw Sethos and Fischl can compensate somewhat. + Dendro resonance is really good on Sethos.
I said it before, and I say it again. If the only place where character can be described as "bad" is spiral abyss. Then they are bad only for one hour in 2 weeks, that's why people should stop b*tching and let others enjoy staff.
Spiral Abyss is the only content to showcase or test certain characters capabilities.
Of course open world is irrelevant, anyone work, as long as it's not against an immune opponents.
@@redace4821 I have heard some person say that Abyss is the only thing that matters in Genshin.... and that person hated the game xD.
Conclusion is that if you want to have a challenge in GI, you either make it yourself, (like Nuzlocke in pokemon games) or try another game entirely.
Thanks for the explanation, I got him but couldn’t figure out how to play him (charged shot playstyle does not work for me on console, kept getting hit before charged shots were ready). Luckily, I already gave him Tighnari’s Slingshot that I recently made!

Finally someone who isnt just saying" sethos is bad"😭. I love this dual playstyle aspect, tbh i hope hoyo does more like this in the future. That way you wont be skipping banners just bcuz they are Dps but you have a bunch of dps already.

If I remember his 2nd charge atk scales on both EM and atk which can be raised by lvling his normal atk in addition to his A2 so his c3 has kind of value still in quick charge atk playstyle. But overall thank you for this guide, pretty refreshing to see a 4* dps character that does not scale better/insane on c6, c2 is all you need
The main problem I find with the game is the sheer amout of repeated 4 stars we get from banner , not to mention weapons from the limited charachter banners all of which are R5 and beyond. There should be a rule that no 4 star is dropped in a succesion , that way it would be possible to get all the 4 stars we actually desire .
The moment i touched WuWa and fought lvl 120 enemies with a lvl 40 character i had so much fun
That was the awakening i needed to keep my motivation to follow my "screw the meta" mindset. Some characters like Kaveh and Sethos are just too fun to pass on. And if i tickle the enemy, good. Ill tickle it to death. Ill build abyss teams when im in the mood because i have the characters for it anyways, but for now im having fun

He looks fun to use and I’d love to play him. I’ll have to see whether or not he appears on any future banners I’ll be interested in (since I can’t try getting him now.)
i love this kit
currently using him on Thundering Fury to skill during his burst, the extra flat energy gives me a few charged shots after his burst ends.
I like him already. I use the Scion of the Blazing Zun weapon for him :) and I have him in a spread party
Sethos is actually so good (sethos + nahida + dori (im not kidding) + kazuha is such a good team)
A little PSA, If you're not as worried about the grouping potential, swap Kazuha out for Sucrose. The EM boost she will give to Sethos AND Nahida will provide you more damage than Kazuha's Elemental damage boost. Unless of course you have Kazuha at c2, which is a different story.
And if there isn't a specific reason you're ysing Dori, C6 Diona provides an additional 200 EM for you to play with, as well as a shield for an added layer of comfort.👍
I am one of the few that uses Dori, I think your team is valid and good comp. If I have enough resource to level Sethos, I will try your team.

I got sethos c4 and he has such a fun and unique kits. Surprisingly strong as a 4* dps tho in my opinion, running 4pc WT and R2 TFGM rn. I love when on burst mode he is electro yoimiya but when on CA mode he got that piercing CA even tho it lacks aoe as long as u line up the enemies it kinda works just fine.
He's very unique. Something different. I like him

i play him with Fischl, Nahida and Baizhu (or I replace Fischl with Furina with Favonius Sword for hyperbloom). When the 4 enhanced charge attacks are gone, i set up with the other three and swap into a normal attack playstyle with his ult. his enchanged charge attacks are back most of the time when that's done so its just rinse and repeat.
I plan to use Sethos together with Venti.
This may be one of them characters who will work with Nathan characters like Kuki shining was with dendro
I played woth him sometimes very later now with his love Lyney and along with that, overloading system done many wonders.

you can combine both a burst and CA playstyle with thundering fury, by using his charge attacks at the end of burst. also, sethos has another thing he can do. he can spam lvl 1 CA which is really good with fischl, and is probably his highest dmg for solo bosses, ESPECIALLY if they have a head
Sethos is such an interesting character to play around with. But.... My only gripe about him so far is that his Piercing shot can not do what a bow character can normally do. Which is stun enemies when you hit their weak point, aka, the robot enemies.
Me personally Sethos has become my favorite characters in my character list so far (Just started) and he actually is pretty useful when enemies are wet or burning (I dont have that grass thing yet).

As someone who was somehow blessed with Refinement 3 Hunter’s path, I see this as an absolute win
(As a cruel joke I also got C2 tighnari rather than Chlorinde like I wanted. However, out of ANY standard 5 star, I wanted him most, so idk, it’s just a bumper patch for hunters path users I guess XD)
I think that you're supposed to have enough energy recharge that after you use your burst and you're burst is still on cooldown but you have max energy, then you use the charged shots. Making Elegy also one of his good weapons.
Sethos, fischl, kazu, baizhu.
(Almost) immortal team with great damage against bosses or few elites
I'd say his best weapon is sacrificial bow. It allows him to cast elemental skill twice, which generates 24 energy on it's own, without considering particles generated.
Sethos at least isn't like the other male 4 stars that suffer from underwhelming kits.
He looks like he will be a pretty good character if built right. Though, can't say he will be the best at what he does in the role he is given, those who really like the character aren't going to be too disappointed leveling him up as their damage dealer.
this guy looks kinda lame. using furry ear dendo dude or fiscl is MUCH simpler.
too complicated for what he can do, and his slot already has a better simpler unit.
Good thing we don't pull new characters for simpler builds. I am tired of the OG 4 stars. Technically no one matters outside of the fontaine 5 star hyper carries, but that ain't stopping me lol. We can already sweep the abyss with trash units. Why not have some fun?@@simonmaduxx6777
a challenging character to use... kinda like electro tighnari but a shorter window of maximum DPS output
I saw Chinise videos him as DPS unit with Sara. Massive dos if you invest on him. Combine with Nahida and Kazuha for EM.
Another reason to have Nahida! Honestly , Zhong Lee has been getting good partners also , with all new character that use bond of life like Arlechino and Clorinde.
A few things:
1. R5 scion of the blazing sun is a lot better than slingshot (if you get the battle pass. I understand not everyone does or even goes R5), especially since his charge attack pierces and can apply that bonus to every target pierced and the bonus last and recharges, funnily enough, every 10 seconds.
2. If you intend to use his CA and skill often, Atk is still important, as they will use his Atk multiplier + EM on top. Atk only doesn’t apply to his burst, which is a conversion
3. Dori is also very good with him as the constant stream of energy allows him to utilize both play styles at the same time.
4. Hyperbloom is crazy, as he can process blooms at will. Since he can’t use yelan or xingqui, his best bet is Furina. As for dendro, either nahida for dmg or Baizhu for safety. The double heals/shield + prototype Amber actually works pretty well for him. Then either Dori if you went nahida or ET if you went Baizhu. It’s actually really powerful, and makes his dmg and uptime unusually high for a 4 star.
He can use yelan/ XQ with his burst. They do it based on normal attack animation. Unlike beido who needs normal attack damage
5. It's better to cancel his last normal attack by dashing while in burst mode because of how slow it is. If you dash cancel there's a big dps increase

Pls try out a team with both clorinde and sethos. They both have low uptime and electro resonance for energy. Sethos can trigger reactions for clorinde as well. Pls 🙏

Genshin always does this with new 4 star characters, either the character is a support that NEEDS to be c6, or is a DPS that lacks damage...
genshin team knew that they dont need to make a great 4 star coz their low standard fans gonna simp & glaze it in every ways possible no matter how trash it is
Theyre most likely scared to make 1.0 supports again so they want to balance it out with cons but its just dumb and the characters arent even as good when c6

Is Slingshot's passive (60% dmg increase) a ping-dependent buff? What if ping is 180ms? Is Genshin's stooopid server-centered combat system going to register shots correctly?

Had Cyno Burst had extra EM scaling along side with Atk as well he would have been more competent than the way he is now.

Theoretically, yes, but because they’re both on field DPS they just don’t really mesh well, but if you really want, you can make them work
you could try an anemo character (sucrose, or kazuha burst) in the team for swirl, then fight with sethos so his electro gets applied to enemies, then switch to alhaitham as the main dmg dealer
or try a hydro character (like xingqiu burst) then switch to alhaitham and start using dendro so he can drop dendro cores on the ground. finally, switch to sethos so his electro can trigger a reaction with the dendro cores

Yaoyao fr is one of the best 4 stars, she helped me alot in early game so much i get her c6 and lv 90

I use Sethos as a battery for my Cyno teams and he makes a good quickswap like tighnari. A shame i only have one copy...

ngl the staying still on charge lvl 2 IS a bit annoying, but they probably did it like that bc of the different stance. all other short male bow users hold their bows in that flat facing way, only sethos holds it differently (at lvl 2 anyway) so they probably didn’t wanna do extra riggging to move around like that lol
I would say Faruzan is good without constellations but is broken with C6 (source: was without C6 for like a year or so before nabbing her in wanderer rerun)
Idk I only use Quicken teams on Tignarhi teams

Dang, even after winning and getting Clorinde after 80 pulls, Sethos didn't want to come, until I spend another 10 more. Guess he'll be C0 until I get him randomly in the future pulls.

I have wanderer, keqing, faruzan, noelle, barbara, kaeya, amber, traveller, lisa, layla, lynette.
Please suggest a team combo and who should be main dps, sub dps, support and so on
wanderer dps (he does like 4 times the damage of everyone else on the list), Faruzan burst support, (buffs wanderer damage).
Noelle and Barbara can be healers if you need them, i lean towards noelle as a shielded against some mobs
The last one is just whoever you like most between Amber, Kaeya, Lisa, kequing and layla.
(Wanderer gets buff when swirling an element when touching the skill button).
also Traveler can also just be anemonsupport against some mobs in early game as faruzan buffs him as well.
As an alternative:
Team is wanderer and no one else if you get to be good in dodging. For normal overworld he doesn't need anyone.
His artefact set can be found in the desert.

Use burst because xinqiu rainsword dont spawn on charged atk.

Sethos kinda just feels like electro tighnari in a way. He’s a bow that relies on having an ability that charges his charged shots almost instantly and scales on em.
That’s not a bad thing though, as I’m a tighnari main, so I can appreciate having more characters that play like that
