I think people used to call 3 Days Grace and their music "stripper rock" (and not as a compliment 😂) ... because women loved them and they had a certain groove that was convenient for pole performances.
Thanks to the success of Nickleback in the 2000's, there was a flux of Canadian rock bands (Arcade Fire... Theory of a Deadman ... Simple Plan ... Finger Eleven... 3 Days Grace... etc.) that followed a formula to commercial success.
