    I’ve been begging Hammer to expand the urethane line for years. No reason not to have at least a weak-mid-strong urethane ball available. Imagine a weak urethane cover from something like the Storm Mix with a core in it for drier lanes, below the Black Hammer. That would be a pretty complete 4 ball urethane bag... 5 if you throw the Purple reactive in there as well.

      We like it, but isn't that what the SPY is for?

      @@LaneSideReviews I picked up my Black Hammer last night and threw it in league a bit. Having seen it in action, I'll say again Hammer can absolutely fit another ball between the Black Hammer and a spare ball. Both my Fast Pitch and Pathogen Plague solid urethanes are 5+ boards weaker than the BH. The Fast Pitch is both weaker and longer out of the box. The Pathogen Plague is just weaker overall. A Red Pearl, Blue Pearl or Pink Hammer would fit in that spot nicely.

    Love my NU! I’m able to play with it 15-17 board at the arrows all of league and all my other balls are getting jealous lol! I’d definitely get the 78U if I start doing some tournaments or join a sport shot league. Hammer killed it as usual!
    *thought this was funny, I called that Hammer was going to release a new urethane ball due to the PBA rules but figured they’d re-release the blue or black colored urethanes of old, no way they would change the purple. Didn’t think they’d do both 😂

    I'm already in the process of rebuilding a urethane arsenal. What pleases me about the 78D is that it is the same hardness as the Faball Blue Hammer, which was 77-78D. So I'd be getting the same performance out of a ball that still is in my bag after buying it 35 YEARS AGO. But what I would do with this as well as setting up a 4-ball arsenal is I would have a heaver rolling urethane ball, which is where the Black Widow Purple Pearl Urethane (or if you're in the US, Pink Pearl Urethane) comes in, followed by the NU, Purple, then 78D. This would be almost the equivalent of going from the Fab Burgundy to the Blue, to the Black, to the Blue Pearl.

      RJ had an original blue pearl that he still throws. You can see it in the Nu blue video. Ball still performs great!
      The new black pearl is pretty similar to the blue, with a touch more finish through the pins.

    A further note, the Hammer effect has been quite dynamic and fun to throw on nights where we have a bit more oil than usual or when I want to open things up a bit...I just have to remember when to put it down before the splits happen.

    • @LaneSideReviews
      @LaneSideReviews  Před 2 měsíci

      Yeah, knowing when to put a ball down is almost as important as knowing when to throw it in the first place.

    7:05 My exact mentality…I’m a 2H lefty that only uses the Purple Hammer, with the NU Blue as my second option that I never use lol…I have the Black on preorder, the three will be my arsenal going forward

    • @LaneSideReviews
      @LaneSideReviews  Před 4 měsíci +1

      As soon as you said lefty I know you were going to be happy. This motion is a lot closer to the purple (not that the Blu wasn't, It's just a but too fast response for a lot of my lefty friends)

    Erm Akshually, you would want to start in the Black Hammer because straighter is greater, then switch to the Purple because you want to keep the same line, and the black hammer has created a bunch of carry down, which is good because the purple is stronger. Then you jump about 5 left and throw the new

    • @LaneSideReviews
      @LaneSideReviews  Před 4 měsíci

      Yes, depending on a the sport pattern I would say absolutely. On others, you may want to go deeper early with the Blue, then move into the purple when it becomes too much down lane. As the purple gets oily you can switch to a nice fresh Black Pearl and stay in the same area and still control pocket OR move in the opposite direction and play up the boards.
      You have to play what you see in front of you.

    1:08 in which video do you talk about not needing to change surface to create length, since the hardness is already doing that? interesting topic

    I keep catching flack for using my pink widow in league...the usual you shouldn't use that on a house shot, you're messing up my line (from a young team of high rev 2 handers who still had two members throw over 700 for three games, followed by this should be banned, learn to bowl. I am a 190 average for the year 66 year old senior. I have gotten over some injuries and am now breaking 600 for the last 4 weeks, but yes, I throw urethane on an inside line when I want to go straighter to the pocket. I am considering this ball to open up and throw down the ten for the first game just to annoy the daylights out of them and tell them it is legal on tour. How would this work on the average fresh house shot? Your advice has always been good for me, I am close to scoops in my delivery, with a little less tendency to go as far outside, about 3 boards inside of him on average.

    • @LaneSideReviews
      @LaneSideReviews  Před 2 měsíci

      We like your style. If they can't play in Urethane, they don't remember the 80's. or 70's. Every urethane ball is legal in league.
      As for how it stacks up, it's going to be much weaker than the Pink widow. You're either going to want to add more surface, or move a little farther laterally with it (towards the gutter). Good Luck!

      But what about Urethane 2: The search for more money? Or Urethane 3: Electric Boogaloo?
