The world of DB is so fun. You can wholeheartedly believe Hercules killed Cell; carry on with your day after watching people fly and change their hair colour in the World Martial Arts tournament; and not recognise a group of people standing in front of you, who were in the only movie (a false one, but a visual depiction of their looks nonetheless) that really describes how Cell was defeated. For what it's worth, DB does have talking shape-shifting animals, and the people have a good idea about real aliens too, so I guess it balances out.
I wish characters in dbz used basically eye beams/attacks more often because the most use we get out of it is when Android 19 and 20 go on a rampage the first time they attack west city (if I remember correctly) and 16 when he fought first form cell but aside from that it's barely used even if for gags or cool attacks it has minimal use for it being that cool
