It can make them really paranoid, and in an even smaller percentage it does make them aggressive. And I can say this as a part of the small percentage who does get really paranoid, and my cousin gets aggressive. We do both enjoy a nice cup of tea with no problems yet 😊🫖
Absolutely LOVED the movie..Shefali Shah's eyes SPEAK..and Vijay reminded me of an angry unhinged python..Roshan should do more romantic movies cause he looked adorable here and Alia is definitely on top of her game here💖. All the actors did so well that I forgot who they were while watching and actually saw them as the characters they were playing 👌

FYI, in case you are ignorant, as per Indian government Right to Information act data, more than 90% of 498A and domestic violence cases filed by wife are false. Imagine if such false cases against your family- brother or father. Justify killing such evil wife who harass husband and his old parents running after courts for 6-7 years to prove his innocence?

When the cop says “Because women let them” it’s coming from his frustration of handling such cases. As Achara said, throughout the world, there is a pattern to DV in relationships and most of the time the victim tries to cover for the or even save their abuser (even by attacking the police sometimes). Won’t get into the psychological and social factors that lead victims to do so, but you can imagine why this happens and how it can be frustrating for cops to see so many victims suffering silently, since the police can’t do anything if there’s no complaint
Same with the dowry situation. The woman and her family willingly give dowry and go to the police when the groom's demands never stops even after marriage and even that is rare.
In this movie, they have so delicately balanced all the dark scenes with little comical elements.
Comical elements? Have you visited Indian family courts? Have you met any real person who is facing domestic violence cases? Just in case you don’t know, as per Indian government RTI act, more than 90% of domestic violence cases are false and are filed only to harass husband and his old parents to seek high alimony. Visit Indian family courts once, read biased Indian laws, and imagine once such false domestic violence case against your family, you will frown on all those comedy scenes.

They are using plurals to highlight that they are not well educated and high class section of society. They are in lower middle class and don't have good command over English language. But since most people uses English words, so they also end up using english words, just not that refined

My respect for Vijay Verma as an actor has increased tenfold. When I was watching this movie, I felt as if he wasn't acting...it felt so real.

In 3rd world countries when you buy Rice especially middle class and lower middle class people , we get rice along with stones in them which our mothers and sisters have to clean by hand separately , most of the time these stones are polished and looks similar to a grain of rice hence it become difficult to pick them aside and then the rice is steamed cooked along with the undetected stone (kangkar) .

Many cases husband gets slapped, punched, kicked, but cannot report domestic violence because law is not Gender Neutral. In once such case, a iron rod is inserted up from husband's anus by in-laws, and was admitted to hospital in critical condition, but police refused to lodge FIR against wife and family. So much (candle light marches) for Nirbhay but such incidents where iron rod is inserted from husband's ass is ignored by main stream media and public.
Most Indian women alienate child from their father blackmailing for huge alimony settlement. Husband have to fight in court for years (in some cases 10 years) to see his own child once, also parallelly paying huge child maintenance. Such is the tragedy of parent alienation in India.
There will be no father or brother or son left to protect family if laws in India remain gender biased.

I really like the film. Its pacing in the 1st half was pitch perfect and 2nd half was also good but i guess i was expecting more torture material from alia bhatt, or some twist at the end.

He is highly educated a doctor. I live in good neighbourhood. A recently married couple were fighting sound of him slapping her was coming even to my house later she divorced him. This r the only domestic violence i have came across. The statistic u r giving is not from goverment site. The only indian show where true cases r shown is crime pertrol men being abused r also shown there but majority is women.
Yes some women's r using this laws to their selfish benifit without considering impact it has on real victims. But the ratio u have provided is Definetly not true. This laws would not be even made if majority of violence towards women fo not exist

@hideousss same. Since my childhood my mom and I have been suffering whenever he drinks. The only difference is that he's like a saint when he doesn't drink but he drinks daily now things don't seem to approve bcos my mother is too scared of divorce
@@cyanliteria5210 hey uts the same for me, we could have left many years back but my mom can't support us financially and we are stuck. And yes my father is a saint as well when he's sober but something gets to him when he's drunk and i just feel like killing him.

Moreover I feel guility for thinking like that bcos of how nice he behaves when he's sober. When he's drunk idk how he transforms into a demon. And the problem is that he has a victim mentality...he tries to show that we are the ones troubling him when in reality he starts fights unprpvoked. His alcohol addiction has ruined our lives. I'm so sorry to hear that you and your mom go through this too. No one should suffer like this. The only thing we can do is become financially independent and capable to take care of my mothers in this situation. That's the only hope I have to live. I hope things get better for you❤️

About the words being plural, idk about other cities but in Mumbai local speak people usually do that.
That one thing I liked about the movie, it picked up the Mumbai Muslim (Central Mumbai) accent very well. There are times where the writers show they aren't originally from Mumbai but majorly it was a good job.
