for me it was how long he was holding the drifts for 😭 the maximum speed you can get from one is the same no matter how long you hold it for so he'd be much better off getting multiple turbos in one turn

Mentioning the cars in Moonview Highway. Also, anytime you fall off the map, time your landing to accelerate the moment you land. You’ll get a boost!
5:12 Every track should have off-road in it, so in order to incorporate off-road into coconut mall (a mainly indoor track), the off-road had to be something other than grass or sand, like you would normally see. That's why they put off-road sections in shops as CARPET. They both offer an opportunity to catch up by using a mushroom to take them as a shortcut, and a disadvantage if you drive into them accidentally without a mushroom.
You’ll also need to do Time Trials and unlock the fast staff ghost in order to unlock the rest of the roster. For example, Funky Kong requires you to unlock 4 fast staff ghost and Mii Outfit B requires you to unlock 32 fast staff ghost.
Yo poof just a tip, if you hit the other races with items it will add bonuses to your ranking. So if you’re on a rough star rank run then you can try and spam all the items back at cpus to save the rank These are the items that add bonuses Green Shells Red Shells Bananas Fake Item Boxes Blue Shells Bombs
you can get second or third in one race and still get a star rank but you need to get first in all the others and still be driving really well the whole time. i.e. if you just have bad luck and get mario karted at the end of one race you'll still get a star if you're really good otherwise

Don't risk it, even when you go "hmm it just started rumbling so I should be okay." Ok so the best way to get a star rank is to get 1st in every race without falling at ALL. There is room for error (like falling off once or getting second on one track), but I’d rather not use it unless you’re practically forced to, because this was the most consistent and accurate way I had to get the star rank.
