  • This is the 2nd ride to test throttle only the Ocelot. This time trying to see if limiting current to15 amps give better milage. It is possible its not enough and if thats the case we will make a 3rd try at 10amps. Hope you enjoy! I use to be a RV channel, until I found e-bikes, that changed my life. I love everything about e-bikes and vlogging e-bike content. E-bike education and how to fix or repair e-bikes and of course riding them. My goal is to make videos educational, fun, motivational and entertaining. I make video content for my own enjoyment, as a hobby. Remember I am an amateur not a professional so please excuse some less than perfect editing. My videos now have a primary focus on e-bikes, because there is so much great content with reviews, accessories, riding and vlogging about those rides.

    The camera work is getting so much better and the sound is clearer. I like the shot across the road at 2:33 forward, because it’s not common and informs the viewers about your shadow, and road conditions.😀

    Thanks again Bruce for all the work and effort you put into these videos, so much good information. I really enjoy the time lapse with the narration on top, nice touch.

      Thanks Robert. It still makes me wonder why. I may dial it down to 10-12 amps and see if that changes anything. I should feel a difference. If I do then maybe another run at it. I think its all good to this point run at 20amps.

    Thanks for the video,I was going to sell my Voltbike Yukon V2 and buy the Ocelot Pro because of the mileage advertised on their site 60-80 miles!
    Normal riding I get 40 miles with my Yukon V2!
    On another CZcams video,normal riding for the Ocelot Pro is only 35 miles!
    What a false advertising!
    Look like I will be keeping my Voltbike Yukon V2 after all.
    Beware all of you mileage seekers out there like me!

    • @RVEnthusiast
      @RVEnthusiast  Před rokem +1

      I got 26 miles without pedaling, I believe if would get well better than that I would guess it is as advertised. Im a large 250+ pound guy and it did 26 without me doing anything. It is as advertised in my opinion it should get 40-50 just by putting any effort into the pedals.

    Starting to think that the always-on factory front and rear lights (plus display) have more impact on battery range than controller amp settings. Challenge for you: Turn on Ocelot Pro bike for 2 hours (no ride) with lights and see what happens to meter readings. Perhaps an advantage for rechargeable F/R lights?

    • @RVEnthusiast
      @RVEnthusiast  Před rokem +1

      Greg, When the ebike is on, Press and hold the + button for 3 seconds and it will turn the always on lights off. There are better rechargeable headlights though. Magicycle gave me one for review and it is quit nice. I don't ride at night, Magicycle sells a nice one as well as Amazon.

    I had a hard time understanding your test. You never really gave a distance on the battery for the Ocelot pro. I watched your video several times, but could not make sense of it. How many miles did you get on a charge for the one battery? You mentioned that you changed out the battery. Did you put in a 2nd battery?

    • @RVEnthusiast
      @RVEnthusiast  Před rokem

      Just a single battery! Your distance will very depending on lots of conditions (weight, terrain, tire pressure, etc.). @18:15 in the video I showed 26 miles in a graphic. This is a repeat test and results were the exact same. Hope this helps. ;-)

  • @dabike
    @dabike Před rokem

    Can you do another test but this time using maybe PAS 3 and casually peddle. No straining, just turn the crank as you peddle. Or if you need excersize, do a test with more than 1 PAS setting. Great info, but disappointing results. I'm trying to decide between the Ocelot and the Lectir 2.0 Long Range. Not the same bike spec wise but 2 good bikes.

    • @RVEnthusiast
      @RVEnthusiast  Před rokem +2

      I sure can, But it may be a minute. I have been so busy and have not been giving my other ebikes enough love. Don't let this no Pedal test disappoint you. Its Just a benchmark against others I have given this test to. Only one bike has beaten 26 and it was a much much less powerful bike.

    wow, that is way less than I expected. Magicycle says 50 miles on throttle alone. I assumed that was on the flat, and compared to my area, yours' is relatively flat. I figured 40 miles on my hills. It looks like I'd get maybe 25 or fewer miles out of charge around here. Good to know. I would have gotten stranded and I'm 80 years old. No fun at my age. Seriously disappointing. I peddle, so I have no idea how that will impact range, but certainly no where near the 60-80 miles claimed.

    • @RVEnthusiast
      @RVEnthusiast  Před rokem

      it really depends on the PAS level you use. I knew it would most likely be under 30 the way I do the test. I think If you are going 15-20 and are pedeling, you will get 50-60.

      @@RVEnthusiast I rode motorcycle for 30 years. Went down easy 1 time. Guess what you do when you fall….reach out with your hands. You scrape up you palm really bad on the blacktop. Light weight fingerless gloves are you best friend. Most have gel in the palms. Walmart has decent ones. Lots of others online. Get some that have 2 finger loops. Those are to help remove the gloves, because good gloves are thin and a bit tight. Gotta set a good example for the newbies!

    So how much more range did you get from 22amps to 15 amps? Also does losing the amps just slows down the acceleration but doesn't affect top speed?

      @funguy2627 Před rokem

      @@RVEnthusiast Do you think you would get more range if you didn't have the throttle engaged all the time. I think thats an inefficient way to do a range test. I think throttle to top speed, coast and then adding some throttle, coast and again is better for battery and range.

    • @RVEnthusiast
      @RVEnthusiast  Před rokem +2

      @@funguy2627 These2 test were foreveryone to see what the minimum range you should get as a reference. As I am a big guy I figured if someone rode it the way I did they should get near or better than I did. Im absolutely sure I could get more with using throttle much more modesty, This was a no Peddle test. I did not use full throttle all the time and would feather it, so I would not harm the motor.

  • @gregbailer8701

    Perhaps the amps only affect launch which is momentary as is top torque. Bet you draw same amps at 23mph regardless of screen settings. Sceen only shows live voltage. And it is not even accurately showing live data as you have demonstrated. Good video today! 🚲
