    Great vid.
    You can program your smart key system to unlock all doors when you touch drivers handle.
    hold the LOCK / UNLOCK buttons down together (on the SmartKey until the Car beeps... now it will unlock all doors when you touch the drivers handle.

    2020 and I still dream of owning this generation IS. *Thank you* for appreciating this car for what it was and still is. So many reviews of the IS from this generation whine about what it doesn’t have compared to vehicles over 10 years later. This thing is still beautiful and will outlast “luxury” sedans sold today from other brands.

      I’ve worked and am working so hard to get one my cousin has one an 06 is250 awd in starfire pearl white and it’s beautiful she’s had it since 08 and it had a brand new engine but in 3 years ago because of a recall so it really has like 30k on the engine and it’s held up well I wish people appreciated and loved these more, even the 250s once I get out of highschool I’ll probably try to get a 350 or I might keep the awd 250 considering the engine, these things are such good quality though and last a long time and people always try to trash them but in my opinion they are one of the vehicles that have still looked good and modern for the longest time and have actually held together

    • @Lsutton04_
      @Lsutton04_ Před 4 lety +1

      Rdot huncho if you’re lucky anywhere as low as $5,000 to $6,000 and as high as almost $20,000 based off of model year, this body is 2006-2013 and you can get an is250 or is350 both have v6s but 250 has 2.5 v6 and 350 has 3.5 v6 and the is350 costs about $1,500 to $2,500 more but are a lot quicker and fun. The is250 is more practical and it’s common where I live unlike the is350. Prices will probably vary too especially if you live in a larger city

    • @gwgrote5
      @gwgrote5 Před 3 lety

      @@Lsutton04_ Great comment. I have a 2010 with AWD, so that is extra as well. People claim that the IS 250 is a sleeper car and I have never agreed with people who claim that. How fast do we need to go? It is NOT a family car but depending on the mileage, one can get a good deal. My car had 101K miles when I bought it and now 2 years later, with 105K, it is worth more than I paid. (it's a Covid thing)

  • @RPGTKingpin
    @RPGTKingpin Před 10 lety +41

    Wow. I can see from the first two minutes that that car is in good hands. I hope it gives you all you expect from it for as long as you own it, because in all honesty, even by the way you talk about it, the way you like it despite the little flaws that the car's accumulated over time, I can tell you're more deserving of it than far too many Lexus owners I've seen on the roads.

      true.
      I'm still running on a '99 Toyota Prado. Was my mum's before I got it, but that's about it as far as drivers. Still on about 186,000 KMs. ie, 115,600 miles. Nearly nothing. Not in a position to brag in the first place :P
      The thing that amazes me though is that it's in better condition than some 2013 cars I've seen. I can't even comprehend the kind of treatment that could possibly put 15 years worth of wear on a car within 12 months.

    It really isn't! A lot of people hate on the 2.5L V6 but it really is a well rounded engine. Sure it doesn't make as much power as a turbo 4 but people forget how low the engine spins at cruising speeds due to the added cylinders.

    • @Lsutton04_
      @Lsutton04_ Před 4 lety +2

      Eduardo Alvarez common problem because the 250 is only direct injected while the 350 is port and direct injected, a tune up and some seafoam for the engine should do the trick for years. They make spray for intake or vacuum hoses for engine to put it in, and a fuel additive I recommend

    I own the 2010 IS250 and it is my baby!! Sure., its not a race car.. but in sport mode using paddle shifters the car will fly. Very reliable.. mine has 88,000 miles on it and not a lick of trouble. Runs like it did when i bought it with 40,000 miles. I put Michelin Pilot Sports on it and they made.a world of difference in both handling and road noise. In short.. I LOVE THIS CAR!!

    • @brorowcarwiz
      @brorowcarwiz  Před 10 lety

      Personally I'd go with the one with the nav system. As with all Toyota's/Lexuses, Mileage isn't too much of a worry and it will last you a very long time. I really get tired of the simple one line display on my radio & would love to have the nav screen. Plus nav rolls in Bluetooth and some other goodies, so thats always a plus. The model with the cooled seats would be nice since that throws in Auto wipers and mem seats I believe. To be honest, they're both great cars and I can't wait to hear what you buy!

    I would like to hear about real issues. Have you had any engine issues? Transmission? I have read this particular engine has a lot of carbon build up. Any issues with it? Don't get me wrong, it is a beautiful car, just want to know about big issues. Anyone is welcome to tell me about this car. I am thinking about buying one.

    • @brorowcarwiz
      @brorowcarwiz  Před 6 lety +2

      I never had any issues related to the carbon buildup. I had the vehicle for over five years and a total mileage of 136k and I had two main issues: water pump failure and catalytic converter replacement. All things considered, it was dead reliable and a great investment. Far more reliable than other cars in its class. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another. Have a trusted mechanic look the car over for any carbon build up, because it can be fixed. The issue arises from people not pushing the engine hard. Essentially, it needs to clean itself by living a little in the upper rev range.

    • @mmppttnn
      @mmppttnn Před 6 lety

      Is it possible that the catalytic converter failure was due to oil consumption and contamination? I understand that a piston ring issue allowing excess oil blowby has prompted Lexus to issue a warranty enhancement of nine years from delivery date unlimited mileage to address the issue which results in excess oil consumption and carbon buildup on the intake valves etc. I don't know if the catalytic converter was included in the warranty enhancement though.

    • @MrBchott
      @MrBchott Před 6 lety +3

      J Holguin the carbon build up is due to car not profroming at full potential . Hit the high way once a week and see wonders work . But do so at own risk . Getting a speeding ticket not so fun at all . But it keeps the carbon away . Have one with 197k and no issue not even water pump . Fingers crossed
