- In this video, I'll be reviewing a 2007 Lexus IS350. This Lexus is not only reliable, affordable and most importantly fast. Many consider this IS350 to be a sleeper car.
I'll be testing the performance and see how it does as a daily driver.

I just picked up a 2009 IS350, love it. 1 owner from TX with 125k mi for only $9,200. It is pretty fast, but back seat is pointless lol.. 4 door coupe
Your Lexus needs Chris Fix It from CZcams and Mart Motors

Still going good?
@@bagchasingbandit6274ohh yeaaa car running smooth with no problem!

This video 5 years
But I find it very helpful and better than these days reviews!
Amazing work man!
I’ve gotten 0-60 in 4.7 stock on my 06 model. 06-08 has the best gearing and with the pedal dance you can get those times, tires and weather also play a role
In my country roads are not that good so iam going to 0-60 in more like 5.3 seconds which is still good but u know 4.7 would be nice
I got a similar 0-60 except I've got the 2011 JDM version which has 315hp compared to the 06 306. 9 hp different isn't a lot yes, but remember it only takes 10hp to move a car and maintain speed.
I have a 2007 Is350 w/80k miles!!! I bought it brand new, still looks brand new!. I LOVE IT!!! I have taken very good care of it. Best car I've ever had♡
Kristen McLaughlin I love the newer designs I fell in love when I got my 2014 is350😍
Pls sell it to me😫
Have you had any issues with it?
how is it 2 years later? still have it?
Want to sell it? 😂😂
I thought my phone was about to ring in the beginning since I have the Tokyo drift ring tone
haha
Awesome Review! hard to find a good Review on this car. Thank you
It's not easy to find one under 10k unless it has 100k plus miles on it.
140k miles and my 08 IS350 still runs hard with no issues
158000 miles on my 2007, no issues either
I'm here with only 51k miles on mine lol no issues thus far.
Yes getting hard. But rock solid toyota reliability even on ones above 100k.
190k on my is350 with no issues
Yes, I'm looking for one now. They're getting rare, and the prices haven't gone down that much from 5 years ago when this video was made. I'm sold, now I just have to find one! Thanks for the great review.
Couldn’t agree more. Loved my 350 so much I just bought an ISF and am driving it back home to AZ now!
lucky you
how was the buying process?
How was the car
Such a great review man
God these cars have aged extremely well. I still kind of want one every time I see one. Has always been one of my top 20 or maybe even my top 10 favorite cars of all time. I did buy a used 3rd gen 2017 IS200t F-Sport a few years back instead of a 2nd gen cause of the newer tech & also felt roomier both head & legroom than the 2nd gens (I'm 6ft). Love that V6 engine that Lexus is still using today as I have that engine in my current 2016 GS350 F-Sport & has an almost V8 like sound when you really rev it!
Great review, please do more pre-owned cars. A lot more people are buying second hand due to cost and depreciation. This car is a great value.
I enjoy your reviews!
Thanks!
Nice review. Thank you.
Great review!
I grew up in a time when 0-60 under 10 seconds was very impressive and much discussed. No ABS brakes back then either. Seat belt optional, lol. Really miss those days to be honest.
I just purchased an MY13 IS 350 Sports Luxury here in Australia (last of this shape). I purchased it interstate so I'm waiting for it to arrive on a truck in a weeks time.
My good friend lives in the state it was in and he's 30 years+ in the car industry, so I was lucky he and a colleague gave it a going over after I placed a deposit. It has 87,000 km or about 54,000 miles so I know it's considered a 'baby' by Lexus standards. I'm watching a tonne of videos on the IS 350 atm, even though I know it's a great car and this was a really good honest video which really confirms what I already know. What's assuring is that if an IS with twice the mileage as the car I bought is still so rock solid, then that's great. This is my first Lexus after years of Nissan Maximas, & Honda Accords which are all great cars, but it was time for the real deal!
Love that intro boss :) When Supra ;)
Excellent revue because it makes me want to get this.
Speaks clearly. Good editing. Ya I will subscribe.
Good review. But I'm 6'4" and this car is not great for sleeping.
Oh sleeper performance. I only saw sleeper and being that I'm not hip to all the sayings these days was quite confused.
I'm 5'10" and my head almost touches the ceiling
yeah I'm 6'1 and I have to adjust the seats and steering wheel for sure!
@@michaelking4578 should've let it ride. I though it was a clever joke HAHA
Lmmfao!
Great video! Like you said, these cars are harder to find. When I was IS shopping, 5 of these escaped from under my feet (sold before I could get to seller/dealer) before I found my current one.
Thanks for sharing!
That just happened to me, I'd just started off to the dealer to have a look at one & he called & told me it was sold! It'd only been on the market two days, and I'm still looking for another. I haven't even had a test drive yet, but I'm sold- besides, nothing could be worse than my present car, a 2012 Chrysler 200S convertible. It's a money pit & really hard to work on, so I can't wait to get a Lexus!
Hi, I love your groove and flow!
i see that this 2007 IS 350 has Split Fold Down Rear Seats that I'm looking for yet the Lexus forums I've looked at say that the Is 350 series doesn't come with them. were they discontinued after that year only to be continued in the 2015 3rd generation models when spot welding techniques increased the strength of frame without firewall pass through from years earlier?
I don't have the is250 but I do drive the 2007 is250 with 139,000 for $7,250 Pearl White runs great. This car caught my eye on the internet for 3 weeks, so I final went down too see it in person. I wasn't disappointed at the appearance, I'm still getting too know what this car is capable of, it's just a ride around Town car for me. The only thing I replaced were 4 struts because 2 were bad no problem. I wish I could show you the picture of this car, that I have gave a upgrade face lift. I've added accessories that has made this car look newer.
It’s fun how he says go instead of going to or gonna or even gon
great review. you just got a new subscriber. You deserve more subscriptions and those will come.
Appreciate it and thanks for the support.
@@DriversOnly you're welcome
Drifting in a Lexus :D ( Awesome Intro Music) :)
Good show! I've been a Mercedes/BMW guy most of my life but mainly because I started working on them since I was 17.
I'm 67 now and still working on them like a fool. So now I need to stop all of this labor but still want something special and reliable. So I'm just catching on to the Lexus phenomenon. Let's face it , it seems like the Japanese cars are the most reliable and given my age I need something like that. I've heard that these Lexus' can get up to 500,000 miles on an engine! Looks like they have the best of both worlds, Quality and comfort and speed. I haven't found anything that can beat BMW handling. You didn't really mention anything about the handling especially around curves. Would be interested to what you might have discovered. Thanks FF
Thanks! Didnt really take any crazy turns but will test out a new one and see how it compares.
According to other reviews I've read, it still doesn't handle like a beamer... but beats it in build quality and reliability by far.
Best crypto channel, and best car review channel 😉
Been searching for one here in Australia. You are right, they're hard to find. Covid19 has only made things more difficult being in a locked-down state and being unable to fly to other states to check the cars out.
Bro there’s so many in Vic now, the lockdowns have rewarded us with tons of people selling now that the lockdowns over
Cool video. Can you review a Polaris Slingshot?
bought an 09 iS350 for $15k with 28k miles on the odo.
Wow, great buy. How do you like it so far?
Drivers Only loving it, the car is fast. I’m glad I bought the 350 rather the 250
Thomas Tuan Nguyen 250 is just underpowered so 350 is appropriate for a sport sedan like this
that’s what i’m looking for right now
Dude you got a crazy good deal
Some false info in this video... The IS350 had an electronic power steering rack from day 1. (2006+). It was one of the biggest "sports car" criticisms of the car relative to BMW at the time. it was not hydraulic as the video suggests.
Thanks for the correction. Certainly felt a lot more direct than some of the other cars I've driven.
@@DriversOnly It's good to read and research some basic info about the model you review before making your review about it...
And yet race car drivers mostly all use electric power steering to keep the engine setup more simple and reliable and responsive. A Lot of guys that build cars rip electric power steering out of old mr2's for this reason.
Great review! I am looking for one currently...wish me luck😉
Good luck :)
U wont regret it

@@kymberliethefreespiritedone did u buy one? im looking for one too but its hard to find one
Hailan I bought a is250 and yes I am aware of the engine issues ...
I bought a pearl white in mint condition because all of the 350s in the DFW area where I was needing to purchase were not in the condition nor had the mileage I was interested in as a preowned. I love my car. It catches eyes still. It's a sexy little thing and I haven't had any issues in this year ( bought in June of 19') plus, it's saved me from the tickets I would've gotten had I found the right 350😉

Thanks for making this video, I will not make the mistake of buying an IS250, as they are far too slow for me. My last car had 490whp. IS350 all the way, just have to find one first. They seem to be far more scarce than the IS250.
I have this car and I love the sticky dash.
5yrs later, this car still goes for a smooth 10k asking price. 2024.
Great job
:)
I recommend picking one up w out navigation, it’s pointless and outdated and controls the AC temp ... $1,200 to replace. I got one with out but they put the 14 speaker mark levinsten system that sound sick AF STILL.
Thanks for this vid. Buying a 2007 IS350 tomorrow with 49K miles on it.

Lower mile clean ones sell within hours or a few days tops.
Actually some magazine tested this car and got a faster time from 0-60 like in 4.9s which is pretty quick for a car that came out in 2006. Even by today standard.
Yes, even today in the 2020 is still uses the same engine
I think q50s were still using the 3.7, idk if they still do. I had a g35 in highschool but looking into a Lexus right now. Had an 04, I’m looking for any is or gs 350 or better from 06-20. I need a small car, it’s annoying have a lifted truck as daily
I have an is 250 since 2008, just keeps on going, decent daily
how is it with petrol tho?
@@vladybeat4076 Petrol is decent mpg, I don’t really think too much about it so must be ok. Not the best or worst, somewhere in the middle. Great for the highway, nice cruiser, average about 25 mpg around the city, highway 28-30 mpg. Really reliable car so you’ll save money on maintenance costs. Nothing ever goes wrong with them and if they do it’s probably inexpensive to fix. Don’t be afraid to buy one with high mileage as long as it has all the service history you should be fine mate.
@@roryhenderson6236 ok mate thank you
I just bid and won on a 2006 IS350 w/ 140k miles for about 8.5k out the door (registration taxes included). This is without a doubt the best car I've ever driven for that cost. It's my daily currently. Extremely comfortable, stylish, and has enough power to get around town. Absolutely in love with this purchase
Damn super expensive for a 2006 with that milage. I got a 2014 is 350 fsport for 20k with about 110000 miles
@@lvloneymaker24 what’s difference between 06 and 14 in terms of mileage usage? let’s say you get to 140k eventually would yours not have true same problems as his? I’m genuinely curious I don’t know shit about cars
@@Luke-fo2tt for a lexus 110k miles vs 150k miles is negligible. Only thing I can suggest is try and accelerate as slow as possible whenever you can, and Hardley use the breaks and let the car come to a complete stop on its own... mileage has significantly increased.
I'm bout to hit 150k on my 08 is350 besides general maintenance and an alternator it's been amazing to me , I have a few bolt ons and can pull on 80% of cars on the road
What's exhaust you got? I got a 2012 is350 f-sport. Slapped the f-sport intake and JoeZ catback. Sounds mean.
Picked up a car almost exactly like this 1 here, plus the XPackage. I love it so far, tho the 3 bads or quarks, 1-the back seats dont fold, 2-stearing feels a bit notchy at freeway speeds, 3-not the best car for aftermarket options. Other than those, its a sweet car : )
Under 10k? Not anymore haha I guess people have caught on these are starting to appreciate!
Most used cars are increasing in value currently due to less demand for newer cars and people opting for the more affordable options, they’ll depreciate again pretty fast after the spike I assume.
@Jesus Christ Glorified i have to assume that’s not clean title/bad condition/etc. but if not that’s a steal
@Jesus Christ Glorified Yea that was a steal IS350's are up around $1500 based on CarGurus pricetrends, I really wanted one and got a great example for $9k with 150k miles although it was babied.
@Jesus Christ Glorified Now is definitely the time to sell a car like that, good examples of these old reliable lexuses are hard to come by and the prices are through the roof. The most ideal thing would be if you’re looking to get a newer car there’s many incentives for it.
@Jesus Christ Glorified 2010-2011 gs460 is my dream (affordable) lexus but my god they are rare
My favorite Lex will always be the GS300 but that IS350 is definitely a sleeper. Did you notice understeer on sharp turns?
I have the 03 GS300 and love it 247k on it and barely it maintenance beyond oil change and tires
gs300? gross those cars are dogs, the stock 2jz is slllooowwww. Now the GS400 was pimp cane to the fullest. Shit a stock gs400 would just lose to a stock is350.

Rare car. Lexus made almost 10k is250 a year while only about 2600 is350 a year. I had my eyes open for over a year and a half in Oregon/Washington area. I took screenshots of all the cars I saw listed, most sold within a day to a week. I'm still kicking myself for not buying a 2012 is350 F-Sport, 44k miles, Fsport exhaust, springs and sway bars, H&R wheel spacers, ceramic coated paint, silver, just freaking mint for $17.5k. And it was on market for a while, probably 3 weeks. Never saw a nicer one before or after. I ended up with a stock, adult owned 2010 with exactly 100k on it for $12k last month. That 2012 w/44k would maintain hella resale compared to my 2010 also. Regrets 😔😔

Fun car, eh? I'm still in the love phase myself lol. I've got some quick detailer wax and a California car duster to keep it looking clean. Never thought I'd dust my car almost daily (unfortunately mine is black sapphire pear...I'd have preferred starfire pearl white, glacier white, tungsten pearl, breakwater blue...pretty much any lighter color.
I'm also still in the "hit the backroad for some acceleration testing" a few times a week phase when it's dry and I have time. I borrowed a friend's dragy one day and hit 60mph in 5.3 and the 1/8 mile in 8.8 if I remember right. Just yesterday I downloaded a free app called Drag Racer and did 0-60mph in 5.0s with 3/4 fuel tank.
When discussing the engine, you said it was carried over to the ES and other Toyota models. Even though the displacement is the same, the engines you're thinking of are different.
