These old security duffers haven't got a clue. The usual "it's private land" nonsense again! If the boss is saying its restricted airspace to a drone pilot, maybe he should be aware of the software the pilot has access to before he speaks!

A bit of advice for people like him, " Do you realise, that if the police are having a busy day dealing with important stuff, and you phone them for no valid reason, they might prosecute you for wasting police time?"
The problem is that the police NEVER prosecute people who waste their time. They love having their time wasted. They get paid for it.
The police would be wasting their own time. They should be able to tell the caller what the story is with drones and that there is nothing they can do about it.

Invariably it’s not a cop on the end of the phone, it’s just a civilian call handler who not legally trained in the slightest.
I do however think in their script it should say, “Thank you for calling the police, what’s the nature of the crime that you’re reporting?”
…. And for 999 Calls… “thank you for calling the police, who’s life is it that’s in immediate danger?”
PJ: Perhaps, since they won't let you go to the office, you can get them to run along and find out the name of the person who can give you permission. Make sure you get the security guard's name just in case he doesn't do what he is told.
Companies who employ such stupid people who make up pretend laws in attempts to dissuade people from doing lawful activities really need to think twice since they are employing people who damage the company's image.

When someone says they will call the police if you do something, it's usually used as an attempt to intimidate or scare you into not doing that something. So one response is to let them know that if they do call the police, they will find themselves involved in a civil law suit, that they will have involved their employer in the same case, and that their attempt to scare you will backfire on then.
Wow an excellent view of the site and the amount of vehicles and trailers they have gives you an indication of the amount of business they are doing in the kitchen industry, that is probably why they didn’t want you to fly your drone over as you will see to much.
Yeah because it goes against the fake narrative of being in a cost of living 'crisis".... can't afford to eat or heat but can buy a brand new kitchen !

Actually, mon zmi, I fell sorry for the Security-guys as they have almost no experience with auditors, while you all have a vast amount with them.
another nice audit. it never fails to amaze me how many business staff are totally ignorant of the law. you'd think that at least security people would have some knowledge of the use of camera and drones, but they know nothing at all. the police should fine them every time they are called to deal with a law-abiding citizen.

PJ surely you must have heard of section 99 of the Flying Drones Over Private Property Act 1812 amended 1815 and put on the statute books by Horace Walpole. This makes it a bit rude to fly a drone over a factory which doubles up as the residence of dopey security guards. (or so they would have you believe.)

I am amazed at how these security guys approach the auditors, with what are you doing, this is a private site.
Doesn’t anybody ever train these guys up to expect an auditor at some stage as auditors are out and about more these days.
Having said that surly the SIA people could educate them when they do their SIA security course and that would make peoples lives easier as they would understand the situation.
