- Hi everyone and thank you for 14 minutes of your time. In this video we have a PC that has been out of use for years. The blue screen problem was very unusual and hard to locate, even I almost missed the source of the problem. Previously the computer has visit some repair sores but always return with no solution ( except change the motherboard ). Fortunately, I spotted it.
This is an old Gigabyte PC but still good for many things and can be still used for doing some tasks or gaming. Current specs ( just to run tests ) 8GB DDR3 RAM and GTX 690 ( Dual GPU ). Future specs, 16GB of RAM and GTX 1050ti. Maybe this is an old PC that has high sentimental value to someone. Games in this video: Assassins' Creed Odyssey and Crysis 3 ( regular Not Remaster )
✔️Disclaimer: I Done this project for personal use only, not for sale or any other distribution now or in the future. Also, personally I do Not sell any components, other hardware or software.

You should do more old PC restoration.
For real!
and also paint jobs, this channel do it particulary good
I second that
Was looking for your touch, a piant job😢
@@dblakewood1907 I completely agree
Another computer saved from the landfill. Great work, Andrew.
no one will forget the GTX 10 series. RIP GTX 1060 6GB 2023.
The 10 series are still good and with better build quality then the newer ones

That degreaser is surprisingly good against the smoke stains on the case! I'll have to keep that in mind :)
Nice PC!
Always great to watch you work your magic on computers that were destined for the scrap heap. You are a true wizard with these devices. Plus, I really enjoy watching old pcs being resurrected. I would never pass up a chance to watch one getting the full Andrew treatment.
Thank youuu :)
Your content is top tier. I'd love to see you restoring an EliteBook 8770w or another mobile workstation from HP and upgrading their CPUs and MXM GPUs
Those scorch marks on the top of that case before cleaning gave me shivers. I owned one of those boards, ended up selling the system who knows how many years ago but back then I used to love Gigabyte boards. Quite the restoration, end result looks great. And definitely not useless. I have a couple Xeon systems from around the same time currently running my NAS and proxmox servers, finally getting around to upgrading them but considering what I paid for them and the use I got out of them I'll be kind of sad to retire them.
Wow, this turned out great! I love these type of videos.
Nice video! It's crazy that now these computers are 10+ years old, since I remember these things from my childhood very well.
great job mate, things was simpler back 10 years ago, riggs would last ages now every six month theres a new got to have kit . well done.
Great job Andrew! That old machine looks great and I'm glad you rescued it!
that clean up was so satisfying to watch, Cheers !
Recently, me and my friends made a LAN party. As we played only old games or e-sports ones, I used my old pcs that I refurbished thanks to this channel. It was a great experience playing with friends in the same spot. Thanks Andrew for your ideas.
Sometimes we do Lan party as well, we play older battlefield series :D
Such a good idea!
Yes, absolutely, there is nothing better than "getting the guys over" for beer, pizza and a LAN party!
It's why I have zero interest in multiplayer online gaming because shouting and swearing at your best friends when they've just headshotted you is so funny!
Nothing like an offline Lan and battelfield 2 with new maps
🗿👑
Nice restoration here. Simple but it’s always good to watch.
I hope your do more desktop PC restoration! This one is very cool to watch!
I love hear computers. Since I was 10 I search in recycling bins for old pcs and restore them like you. Being 15 now, I can’t thank you more!
Another great video. I really enjoy this type of video where an old pc is brought back to life. Best wishes from Panama. 🇵🇦
I enjoying watching all your videos, you are great as always
A Bios firmware update to version U1D(UEFI BIOS) appears to be offered on Gigabyte's GA-Z68A-D3H-B3 support site. However, a switch to "UEFI enabled" bios setting may also require re-installing Windows.
you can actually fix an installed windows to make it transition without reinstalling
No other channel is this relaxing dude. Kudos 👍
7:41 amazing thermal apply there, great job.
The wire Management is amazing! Its inspiring
It's great to see you giving a new life to old electronic please post videos regularly.sorry if I am asking too much.
Always 10/10 videos. Keep on doing these videos .
Thank youu :)
WOW, that cable management!! I would not have had the patience to do that, The PC looks great!!
Is not some good management, just enough to put the cables aside
i am always exited when i see that you upload a new video :)
I much more appreciate cable management in difficult cases than cases which essentially make it no effort.
Honestly I'd rather have thinner cases than cable management caverns. My windows 7 PC which I built in 2010 is 170mm wide, pretty much just wide enough to fit a 92mm fan exhaust and no more. I ran the 24-pin between the motherboard and the motherboard tray, which is possible when the cables aren't sleeved.
Fantastic build man!
I always liked your restoration videos.
Thank youu :)
Hola! Una paz absoluta al ver estas cosas bien hechas y con total paciencia. Felicidades por el trabajo!
Amazing work! Looks like new 😊
Thank youu :)
I would suggest using an ultrasonic cleaning for such greasy and dirty components. That could also remove possible dirt from underneath the chips, where the brush and isopropyl could not. Anyway, great work!
Only satisfaction watching your videos. Great job!
Thank youuu :)
Relaxing video. THanks
loved it, absolutely loved the video
looking great keep up the good work
Finally something on YT thats actually intresting 🙌
That computer was in a smokers environment, reason for the brown stains. I've done this many times for parts I had given to me from a friend who smokes in his house. He saved me quite a bit of money thru the years when he upgraded his computers. I never complained about it, I just took the parts and cleaned them up and used them. Most parts were good, a few didn't work out so well. What I discovered on cleaning motherboards is to hold them up right vertical position on a towel, and using a spray bottle with 92 percent alcohol, spray it clean. Start from the top of the board and spray until you get to the bottom and all that junk runs downhill on the towel leaving the board spotless. Repeat if necessary while having everything completely apart, GPU's included, then reassemble. Some hardware parts can be soaked in bleach water then rinsed, it will melt away nicotine stains like magic in seconds and requires no scrubbing looking like new, fans included, then bone dried off.
Nice restoration.. do more your are really artist in paint work to .will like to see😊
Splendid video and very informative. I also like the style of your keyboard which one is it?
That's very nice. I have some similar PCs from 2010 to 2012 and since I'm not a gamer, they are very useful for me and I enjoy having the good quality components.
Museum you need ?
@@lucasrem I think I have one. 🙂
Love your videos brother. Do you sell these refurbished laptops/PCs?
That brown gunk inside the case and fans + stickyness reminds me about when i got one old pc from guy who was vaping next to it. That vapejuice was all over the place and pretty nasty stuff when i tried to clean it
This is from smoking I can feel that :D
Andrew you should try to do a full restoration of that dirty carpet you got there! 😂 great video
Good job 👍
I recently fixed an old PC.
great restoration..your videos are soo good.
missing your customized color projects brother... wish you bring some more cool color projects!
looks liek that case had a fire in it at some point, nice to see it got cleaned up so well and wasnt tossed!
took some dedication. nice job.
You have an amazing speaking voice. great video!
That's exactly how I want my next build to look.
Great job Andrew!!
Thank youu :)
... great explanation... thank you...
Its a great feeling, bringing life to old and dirty tech!
Talk about TLC! Brother, you are good, and knowledgeable.
You can clean motherboards in the sink, completely immersing them in hot soapy water and use various brushes (paintbrush, toothbrush) for different areas, or even put them in a dishwasher. But be careful of the socket, use the original cover if you have it and clean it separately using a artist's watercolour brush and isopropyl. Give it a final rinse in warm distilled water if you're OCD like me! Whichever method, the CMOS battery has to be out and make VERY sure to give it time to air-dry thoroughly (maybe 48 hours, or a several hours in a warm c. 60°C oven).
love the content! ❤
Wonderful Effort 👌
Hi bro, I'm a retired IT tech. This was my daily work until few years ago for almost 25 years. Kinda remind me to my younger times when watching this video.
Satisfying results as always!
You never fail entertaining me. Greetings from Bosnia and Herzegovina !
Thank youuu :)
Please don't ever stop sending us These videos
I'm a huge FAN of your Work
Thank youuu for the support :)
@@ComputersAndTechAndAndrew No problem
Awesome save. I might try to wash my old desktop
really like your video
it's very satisfying
Sandy and Ivy Bridge are true warriors and can still bring a lot of joy today. Enthusiasts even change the BIOS of these cards so that we can boot with NVME SSDs on the PCI-E adapter. I did this on a Sabbertooth Z77 with i5-3470.
I agree, plus these motherboards were with top quality, todays motherboards compared are like a cardboard. Btw the sabbertooth Z77 is awesome motherboard I always like it, especially with the cover
you are really a real man 😁.. May I know what detergent you use? I'm looking for it
Love this kind of videos, give a sencond life a pc is the thing tha love to do, great video
Offtopic: What is rhe model of that monitor? Is very nices
It's 34" LG curved, but this is at least 5 or 6 years old model, discounted now probably :D you can find better models nowadays
Just a heads up
You can use a mechanical pencil to straighten socket pins. It is way easier to bend them back into the correct position
Awesome content as usual
Tried setting right some bent pins recently and broke almost all 6 of them. The system still works but I wouldn't dare use it for anything useful.
that wouldve been a near top of the line pc 10 years ago. hell even 5 years ago that pc wouldve been just fine, thats the pc i wanted to build when i built my first pc but couldnt afford.
Same bro, back then I can afford only to stare at these motherboards and components :D
Another fantastic video brother.
I like the laptop restorations but the desktop PCs are my favourite content!
very good restoration
Andrew the magician!
One of the most satisfying thing to me
Thank youu :)
This is a really interesting job. I wonder if we aren't reaching the stage where a desktop PC couldn't be built with the specific intention of being future proofed to be upgradeable for 25 years.
Good job at work!
Old look still rocks!
my god this is so satisfied idk why maybe im a weirdo but i watched whole video and would watch more and more
I used this MOBO and the I7 from 2013 to 2018 and I bet if the CPU didn't die I may still be using it today
nice save man. I built a ddr5 build, but I saved a 2009 computer, well the parts of two really, to create a properly one. It felt better saving this max 8gb baby from trash.
the pc case was released in 2008 the gigabyte poseidon
Not bad - with 2nd gen i5 CPU, this PC is certainly NOT useless. With a decent SSD as its boot drive (I would pick Crucial MX500 500GB), as well as a decent hard drive (2TB) and 32GB RAM, this would still be a pretty decent computer nowadays for basic tasks, and for games from around this PC's era.
32gb is pretty overboard imo
@@detecta Not really. With how things are nowadays with games and other programs, the more RAM you can have, the better!
@@TheSpotify95 i mean most games from the pcs era had like 8gb recommended specs and 8-16gb is still good for basic tasks
I've recently upgraded my modern gaming pc (5600x+RX6600) from 16gb 3200MHz to 32Gb 3600Mhz and apart from Hogwarts Legacy, no games that I have tested made the *total* ram usage (with Windows 11, which manages to use more ram than Win10) to cross over the 16Gb mark, so yes, 32Gb in that pc is definitely overkill and unnecessary, even with it being cheap. Also, you do not need 32Gb for "basic tasks".
A better idea would be to have only solid-state storage, and maybe upgrading the CPU, since the motherboard is good and support up to a 3rd gen Core-i7. And definitely staying in Windows 10.
I love it man!
Thank youu :)
Bro where did u get that wallpaper from its so cool
Looks like the PC has been in an environment with a someone who smokes, if I remember rightly the sticky gunk can become conductive and cause unusual shorts.
Yep, it's from smoke
i would like to see pc case modding in your future videos. more PC restorations please.
Definitely want it for server usecases
the content I crave to see
All that tar. Yuck!
Awesome transformation!
good cleanup..... on my rebuilds I take out all chassis blanks that come with the chassis and add fan guards to all the fans were applicable. adding fan guards makes it safer to service the system while it is on... how many time have you pricked your fingers on fan blades?
Well saved!👍👍
Fantastic job! Muchly enjoyed all content :-). Definitely learn a lot from your uploads my friend. Cheers - Jass.
I wish I could send this guy my old Alienware laptop to be restored and upgraded. Poor thing is on its last leg. Alienware 17 from 2013, a real trooper 😔🤘🏼
That case i definitely will be repurpose as home lab server case
Well done 👏
Make more of this pc restoration but please don't stop making laptop restoration you're the only one make this video's, I know others make video about laptop restoration like psivewri but still you're video is still more entertaining than the others
THank youu bro :) btw psivewri has a nice stiff too, I like his work
This is satisfying to see
Great Video.
Years ago i was given for free a bricked gigabyte Z77. Thnx to dual bios i recovered it, bought a cheap Xeon E3-1270(similar to i7 2600) and with 16GB ram it still my main pc(has a 1650 DDR6 atm). Some month ago i found a 9020sff competely naked, only mobo was inside. Fixed its bent pins, cleaned the sticky ram slots, cased swapped it, replaced my fx htpc ;). I love older pc/laptops, been donating them to friends and neighbours.
I always say the same thing in 2014 with a good Dual Core 4GB and a GTX 750 everything went well, after 2015 it seems like a competition of who gets the best rehash, you can never keep up with the hardware
The boss ❤
