The 54 looks phenomenal on your wrist! There is something very special about the bb54, the proportions are absolutely perfect. Gives almost the same feeling as a explorer 36mm on the wrist, perfection

Funny how dominant preferences are to perception. I’m 6ft with 7.5in wrist and I find the BB58 wears too heavy, tall and large compared to my 16710. I think the 54 is spot on for me.
I think the real opportunity here that was missed is to mention the fact that the two watches essentially wear about the same with only one millimeter difference lug to Lug. When I tried on the 54 in the authorized dealer I immediately only noticed the thickness and that it was a little bit lighter than the 58. But the watch largely wears very similar to what the 58 does after just a few minutes of wearing it. The other important point is that the reason they didn't add the red triangle is because this watch is based on the original 1954 version which never had a red triangle. If you compare that with the 58, which did have a red pip back in 1958 it all makes sense. Finally, the bezel edge if you look close is polished on the 54, and while the markings are larger, it's actually not as grippy as the sharper 58. All in all its a great watch that is very refined, but that is mainly due to the style in which it was based on back in 1954.
With a 6.5ins wrist, even at 6ft 2, you can definitely wear either. This is amply demonstrated by the footage here. No problem either way. The real question is do you prefer more of a statement piece or more of an accent piece? It isn't about sizing, it's about personality. At least in your case. There are obviously limits, beyond which a 37mm diver will just not be in proportion to a larger wrist. This is a great release by Tudor. The detailing shows a new found confidence and maturity. More refined. More elegant. I would love to see some of these details, along with the T-fit clasp, find their way in to the rest of the Black Bay range.

Agree that it's based on personal preference. I feel the Pelagos 39 advertising campaign should have been better suited to the audience of this 54 watch. I have the same 6.5 inch wrist as the reviewer and found it small when looking at it at first glance but once I put it on it didn't look too small. Still not what I'm use to and would be a bug bear to have in your subconscious mind to always doubt you bought the wrong sized watch. To avoid buyers remorse I'm sticking with my 58. If the trend in smaller watches declines in 12 months there could be a lot of people off loading them, regardless how big or small their wrist size. People tend to follow hype more than reason. I feel there's enough pressure to contend with having to deal with wearing a poor man's Rolex, let alone an effeminate version.
Agree, I'm 6ft1 with 7" wrist and love the 54 and prefer it to the 58, I have both to compare.

Immediately in love and put my name down on the list. Maybe if I already had a Bb58 in black steel I would not buy the new one but as I don't own a black diver I have to get the 54...

For my 6.75 wrist,got to give it to the 58 ,the gilt bezel numerals is a plus too. tried the 54 its just a tad too small but would love that T-fit on the 58!
So the T-Fit clasp is considerably longer than the old one, but what about the folding part on the underside? I have a BB36 which has basically the BB58 clasp and the underside of the clasp along with the rigid first link on the 6 o'clock side take up pretty much the entire flat part of my wrist. If the new clasp is even longer than that, it will be problematic.
Both wonderful watches, no doubt. I have the bb58 in black and gilt like the one in the video. Very pleased with it. I think the bb54 might be a tad too small for me. Usual informative video.
I have the 58 in Blue, and am strongly considering the 54 so I don't *technically* buy the same watch cause I do love the black and gilt version as well, but the lack of the red arrow really makes me doubt myself, even if the 54 would probably wear better on my 6 inch wrist.

They’ve only gone and nailed it yet again! Biggest improvement aside this will actually look ok on my tiny wrist is the red marker on the bezel has been removed 🙌 such a clean and sophisticated look now! Kudos to Tudor yet again!!

I like all three, BB 41, 58 and 54. It‘s just challenging to find a precise opinion because when changing the size, Tudor also changes the character in details here, like they did with the Pelagos and Pelagos 39. Personally I think about purchasing the 54 because it fits my anatomy but I wouldnt say no to having the red triangle ;) I will have to see it in real to decide if I like the yellowish parts and the snowflake hour hand but when considering quality, movement, overall design and price, this watch is highly competitive when compared to all competitors in its market segment.
I feel 39mm is a perfect size for a sports / dive watch. I love BB58’s gilt bezel numerals, red iconic triangle (Rolex Big Crown) and the snowflake seconds counter weight. All these charming characteristics have been removed on the BB54. Also the lugs on the BB54 are proportionally bigger giving it a less elegant, squared look.

I tried both today in a store. Both work well! BB58 has still a lot of charm and this specific design is so unique (red dot at noon, all snowflake watch hands). The dial on the BB58 remains still more visible from my point of view. The contrast of the dial feels better on the BB58. BUT as soon as you tried the BB54, you feel the BB58 "big". As a diver, it's not a big deal to have this feeling, it's not like you wear a Hublot lmao. It really depends on the state of your collection I think instead of just choosing between BB58 or BB54. In my case, I've decided to focus mainly on watches between 36 and 38mm. I'll pick maybe a Seiko or a Doxa as an additional diver. It adds a more vintage style to my collection thanks to a smaller size. BUT I still love the BB58. If your wrist is above 17.5cm, maybe it's better to stick with the BB58. There is no bad choice whatever which one you pick! You can compare for hours the specs, but in the end, just listen to your feeling when you try it. Take a few days to think about it after you tried it. And then the choice will be the good one 🙂
For my, both are small for my size wrist, that's why I bought three. years ago the BB Heritage (41mm.) and I'm delighted with it.
Anyway, the 54 and the 58 are beautiful and great watches for many people with small or medium wrist size.

If you just get to try the 54 you would really like it. But once you try 58 you start noticing the differences and I appreciated most of the things you covered in the 58. I don’t have a very big wrist, yet the 54 was a bit too small after trying the 58

Hey y‘all. I habe already the BB58 and i love it, but I also really the BB54 too. Should I get it the BB54 too or is it unnessescary because the quite Look the same. Need a second opinion, it’s so hard to decide what to do, better Safe the Money or cop a BB54 when I already have the BB58? 😅
Some interesting view Harrison (as always). A great comparison between the black and guilt BB58 and the new BB54. I guess due to time we couldn't fit in the BB58 Blue but in this but I guess that's a different aesthetic animal so sort of makes sense. The introduction of the 54 opens up the market for a whole new bunch of people with slimmer wrists and that's great news. It looks great and should be well made with a decent mechanical movement within. I have the 58 black and guilt and I'm very happy with it and right now I cannot justify a BB54 but there are areas of the 54 that I prefer. The new crown should be functionally better but may loose some of that being if I recall correctly slightly smaller and closer to the case. The bezel should also be easier to operate with the more course knurling. The T-Fit clasp is also brilliant on other recent Tudor watches that I've tried. If there is a downside there is a little loss of character compared to the 58 though in my humble opinion and I prefer the snowflake seconds hand that seems to have been adopted 'the lollipop across the updated range making the hour snowflake looking a tad lost, the odd one out if you like. Given the recent releases how long before other divers and the GMT get course knurling on the crown, bezel, lollipop second hand and T-Fit clasp? Who knows. On the wrist today is the Oris Aquis date cal400 41.5 sunburst blue dial.

Missing some details. The bezel numbers on the 54 are silver not gilt as in the 58. The numbers are more rounded. The dial looks a deeper black as it appears less matt and more polished.
Harrison, you said the BB58 has the calibre 5402 but showed a movement marked 5602. Not sure if you realised that. I don't know what's correct or if it even matters at all. Today I have on the Seiko SNK809 which I thought I'd lost months ago but discovered amongst a pile of shite on the bedroom floor. I was chuffed as I love this little watch.

I love the reserved styling and sizing of the 54. My daily wearer flip flops between a green Seamaster Diver 300 and a black Rolex OP39; the 54 feels uniquely different compared to both of those. I also want a watch that I can eventually gift to my daughter. The 54 checks all those boxes. Like most watch purchases, I suspect each persons unique circumstances will draw or detract them from making what is a very personal decision. All that said, love the content, look forward to your videos and the info you provide!
If you want a modern look, go BB58 blue. If you want more vintage, then go BB54.
I have the Christopher Ward C60 38mm dive watch, and I'm 6ft 3 with a 6.5in wrist. It fits perfectly and I can't imagine a 37mm would be any different. Not sure what height has to do with watch wearability, that's a new one on me! 🤣🤣🤣

For me it s the same story between the explorer in 36 vs 39 and 40 …..for me the BB54 looks compact and More classy , the perfect all days watch

It looks like the 54 is more sunburst while the 58 is matte but I cant confirm this anywhere, have you seen anyone address this?
Odd bit. He often mentions the 6.5’ wrists like it’s 9.5”. I also have 6.5” wrists at 6.1’ and a seemingly larger build than he is and I rock 36mm watches with no problem.
the 54 needs the larger crown off the 58 fitted too ,, that would look good ,,, wonder if it would fit ??
Thanks for your honesty, just saying a previous model suits you better than a new model deserves respect. I have a small wrist and have medium watches like a speedy reduced (kind of 37mm) or vintage tudor DD36mm. I am very tempted to pull the trigger for the BB54 but I am already seeing that in a few months time everyone will have it so...hesitation...

The watch crowd you see online is only a very small percentage of society. Even if all fans here buy it you will almost never see it in the wild.

Nice watch but the 54 is def too small for me. I also much prefer the old style coin edge bezel and large crown giving it its 'Tudor' style.
after having watched several BB comparison, still no one is talking about a key difference which is the numbers on the bezel - flat vs rounded !

As luck has it i just picked up my 58 from servicing and i love it all over again. I actually saw the 54 in the metal at the AD where i picked up my 58 and the 54 looked off and not as impressive to me.

I can only think off one thing the 58 does better, it’s probably the perfect size for my 7 inch wrist. I would probably have to ignore the size and buy the 54, it’s so much more resolved. I’ve always thought the 58 was trying to hard.
What I really want to see is a 58 with the same design ethos as the 54 and if they can incorporate a date I’d have to ditch my BB pro.
Dial differences? Texture, flat vs domed, matte vs whatever the 54 is? I’ve watched a few of these comparison videos now and no one has really given a good description of the differences. Otherwise great!

The eye-catching color scheme of the 58 is unbeatable even though I prefer the smaller size and minimal, vintage appeal of the 54.
I totally agree, the 54 would be a much better size for me personally and the T fit clasp is so great, but the bezel and lollypop hand throw me off massively. The 58 is so perfect to me looks wise, if only it was the same proportions as the 54 and included the T fit clasp.
To me I like the BB58 rather than the BB54. I own both BB58 GMT Pepsi in 41mm and the BB58 39mm Black and the BB58 39mm gets more wear time than the GMT. The biggest I would go is 41mm and the smallest I would go for is 39mm, just my preference. Though I would rather have the adjustable clasp that the BB54 has, though I hear that you can use the BB54 Clasp on the 58. Though I have put the Jubilee Bracelet on my BB58 39mm and it actually wears better incorporated with the Tudor factory clasp and it changes it appearance and makes is more nostalgic.

I'm guessing the BB54 will look good on wrists up to 7", and maybe even 7.5". It'll just look more classically sized. The BB54 looked just fine on you're wrist. You just like larger watches. If Connery could wear and look great wearing the 37mm Rolex Submariner 6538 Big Crown, you can wear a BB54.
I have 58 and I stay with 58. 54 though is a good size for 6.5-inch wrist.
Have a 6.5 inch wrist myself but it’s quite flat. Can fit A 42mm watch as long as the lug to lug is less than 50mm. I found the 54 too small so will be sticking with my 58. All very subjective really. Just need to try it on and see.
Don't like both feel like it just a hyped watch but the quality is PERFECT. But i don't have that wow feeling when looking at both of the watches. Also that 54 would bother me much for having white and yellow-ish vintage look white/yellow look. Like. someone glued it on.
I really like the BB54; I could do a 37mm. I have a BB58 in blue, and it’s a nice watch, but that T-fit clasp would be great!

To me the gilt and silver bezel don't work together. They should have done a full gilt and a full silver version.

I’d go 54. And I did! On the wrist today is the Black Bay 54 and I absolutely love it! After owning the black and the blue 58, there was always something not quite right that I couldn’t quite put my finger on. For me the 54 solves that.

How come no one talks about the different dial finishings?
With wrists that small, at any height, you could be wearing down to 32 mm. Anyway, that's what size the guys that stormed Normandy we're wearing 🤷🏻♂️
BB58 has the perfect proportions. Love the coin knurling in the bezel and the way it wears in my 6.3 inch wrist. I’m less minimalistic and definitively more baroque so I think the BB58 is a clear winner.

I’d say the proportions are a matter of style. I prefer the 54’s proportions as they are closer to that classic Rolex shape (more lug to dial), which you still see on a lot of the modern Oyster cases like the DateJust.
The 58 is overall a “rounder” watch, which I feel has less charm.
Also, I have a 6.25” albeit Flat wrist. I found the 58 a hair too bit for my taste
They are both nice but I still prefer the BB58. I am probably also in the minority that still prefers the look of the shield shaped clasp of the BB58 though it does not have on the fly adjustment.
I own a BB58, however am really drawn towards the BB54, due to its heritage.
prefer the 58 on the 54 the bezel is a bit too thick compared even to the vintage piece, but I find Tudor appeals more to a younger audience and after owning a few tudors I have the same conclusion
The Problem with Tudor is that they always make an almost perfect watch and never a perfect watch. This is because Rolex is their owner and doesn’t want it to compete with their watches.
A lot of divided opinions here. Everyone has different experiences with sizing. I've come to realise that even having the same wrist size can result in a different wearing experience. It depends on how flat is your wrist, whether you wear the watch loosely, where the joint bone is and whether you wear above, below or on top of the bone. After considering all of this, it comes down to personal taste. I tried on the 54 and instantly realized how small it was. I have a 6.75 inch wrist and normally wear 40mm Subs. I also own the BB58. For me personally I prefer the 58. I just prefer a larger, more confident watch. For the same reason I wear a 39mm Explorer. The larger watch just pops more. Makes you feel more active and confident. A small, refined watch makes me feel underwhelmed. That's alright if that's the person you are, understated & under the radar. But don't expect this smaller watch is going to ever make you feel more confident and I'll guarantee you you'll always be looking at your watch comparing it's size to it's bigger brother and trying to justify your reason for purchasing it. Be surprised if you don't sell it in 6 months.
I'd like the BB54 in 39 or 40mm. Personally
would like to try on the 54 im interested in it . I do not like the 58 or the other models because of the thick a@@ cases. so the thin case is really appealing to me.

These are the problems with the BB58 no micro adjustment, the knurling on the crown and bezel are too fine, correct these like they have on the BB54 and you could have possibly “the perfect watch “
Having two BB 58s at 39mm is the minimum size I go for on a diver personally. The 54's T-Fit clasp is it's only real benefit I can see when comparing the two, unless you have smaller wrists. The 54's more pronounced crown serration and bezel is must on such a smaller watch for added grip. Whatever my thoughts Tudor will sell this in bucket loads.

It would of been really nice if they puted a see through back case paying over £3000 for a watch and seeing a plain boring back case feels a bit cheap same with rolex as well.
What are you talking about. You have small wrists and if anything the BB54 probably wears more in proportion with your 6.5 inch wrist. Sure the 58 works but 54 with a slimmer profile coupled with a skinny tall guy with small wrists, I’d say it suits it fairly well.
I own a BB GMT and I will be getting a BB54, why are people so obsessed with wrist sizes when all the BB watches can be worn across all wrist sizes. Just buy what’s suits you and wear across the range.
