- Author Jodi Picoult stopped by for a web-exclusive interview with Ellen to share her new book, "Sing You Home," -- which Ellen loved so much, she's adapting it for a movie. Jodi shared how she finds her stories and what it takes to write such powerful works.

I've read an insane amount of Jodi Picoult's books. She is amazing. Her stories captivate you and, each line draws you in a page at a time. I aspire to be half the writer she is.

I went to high school with Jodi's son so I got to hear her speak a lot at school events. It was really cool for an aspiring author like myself to get to speak with someone so successful!
I have read “My Sister’s Keeper” and “Nineteen Minutes”, both of which I absolutely loved. It’s really amazing how she comes up with unconventional story lines that really takes one by surprise, especially the endings. She is one of my favourite authors by far.
Her books "My Sister's Keeper" and "Handle With Care" are my favorites they are completely riveting.
I just finished small great things and let me say, Jodi picoult just might be my favorite author!

Have you ever thought of Peter Houghton to be your friend? 'Cause If Peter Houghton really exist and I go to his school, I bet it's never too late to befriend him and none of those terrible events would ever happened. And nope, I haven't read the House Rules (would you recommend it for me?) But I heard that Peter were mentioned there? :)
Ionni Grace I have thought of being friends with Peter, I think he makes for a great friend; it's a shame that others didn't. But befriending him doesn't necessarily mean these things wouldn't have happened. He was friends with Derek, and it didn't change his decision, but I do think it would have made a certain impact.
And yes, I would recommend House Rules; if you liked Nineteen Minutes you'll definitely like House Rules. I read the book and I don't recall Peter being in it, but that would've been brilliant. By the way, which books have you read beside Nineteen Minutes (if it's not your first)?
Well, what I meant is that if he had more than one friend, someone who he can hang out from time to time, someone who was supportive of him, someone who knows his problems, someone who can defend him (at least) you know like, something he can call "MY GROUP OF FRIENDS". Derek were bullied too, so it cause a lot of pressure to Peter even more, for some reason that one friend of his are being picked on as well. So maybe those things shouldn't happened, Josie left him out of nowhere, God I hate Josie, for me, she tried to look cool and date a douchebag. LOL I've read A Stolen Life by Jaycee Dugard (true story) the one who were abducted for 18 years. I'll try to find the House Rules. Thanks. :)

Jodi Picoult is AMAZING! Her books and the stories that she writes are just too damn amazing for words. I read all her books so far and love them all! :) I'm glad Ellen is doing this :DD

The Pact, and Nineteen Minutes are my favorites! Just finished the Pact tonight actually. Wish they'd make a real movie out of it that actually does it justice. The one from Lifetime was a horrible joke.
I've read My Sister's Keeper, The Storyteller, Lone Wolf, Change of Heart, Sing You Home, Second Glance, Ninteen Minutes, The Pact, Between The Lines and Off The Page. I just can't get enough!

It's almost impossible to hate any of her characters, regardless of how "evil" their actions may seem. I love how she always makes you question yourself, 'what will i do if i'm in that situation?' . Reading her works makes me believe she's such an open-minded person :D

I completely agree with you on Zoe's bisexuality. I mean, she doesn't have to label what she is, but she's definitely not a "lesbian" if she's also attracted to men. She didn't become anything, she just realized that she also liked women. Now I don't have any personal experience so I don't really know about the rest of what you said... but it sounded wise. ^^
so are they still planning to make a Sing You Home movie??

Im a guy who is a huge fan of Jodi's books. 19 minutes was both moving and stunning! It made me understand the school shooter angle. I bought sing you home because the cover looked exactly like my ex girlfriend who also sang and played acoustic guitar. the book was amazing. I liked how the character evolved into realizing who she truly was.

They really should. I'm reading it for the third time, and I can honestly say that Nineteen Minutes is one of my favorite books! They should most definitely adapt it into a movie. I'd watch it! =)

A second book to The Pact would be good maybe there would more insight into there relationship. I feel like Chris is guilty but I hope that if the author writes a second part it would shed more light on the situation.

I Love Jodi she has a great gift from god. that she is giving to the world. sing you home shows us that a family is Love no matter who makes up the family!
