    I guess you can be forgiven for pausing right in the middle of Geoff’s D5 to D1 slide…this time. 😅
    Geoff has done several interviews if you want to hear his natural speaking voice, with Peter Barber, The Charismatic Voice, and Tara Simon. He also has multiple videos on his own channel where you can hear him speak naturally. He does bass singing tutorials, one on how he arranges, and a great video about his wife’s hearing loss.

    The J None snail showed up on his cake at his going away party.... Rachel has done lots of collabs with them, most of the early Disney medleys, Attention, Chandelier and probably others I can't think of at the moment. She has such a gorgeous voice

      Kidnap the Sandy Claws, Oh Holy Night, Greatest Showman medley.
      She's been friends with the guys for years, maybe college? Theme parks? I know she played Ariel for five years.

    Sorry, sorry, one more! Watch one of Geoff's latest solo videos, he talks at the end of them. Maybe do "Jack's Lament," from last Halloween, or "I See Fire." Wait, didn't you watch the voiceover at the end of "Drunken Sailor?" That was Geoff talking.
    I hope your church mission went well! Blessed be!

    Thanks for your reaction! Rachel Potter was perfect here as she performed as Ariel in the little mermaid show at Disney's magic Kingdom for 5 years (her only challenge here if you look closely you will see she is very pregnant so her singing, breath control, and costume are commendable). Rachel has been a long time friend of some of the members of Voice Play going back to their days of working as performers at the theme parks while they attended college in Florida. Rachel was actually a planned member back in 2013 when Voice Play competed on the 'Sing Off' but last minute was not able to as she was a finalist on 'X-Factor' and the schedule conflicted. She has lived in NYC and performed on Broadway and in Nashville as well as she continues to pursue a Country music career. Rachel is the featured guest in about a dozen of the older covers with Voice Play as Ashley Diane has more recently been the featured guest in covers that feature a female singer ("We Don't Talk About Bruno"). For a different style cover that is not Disney with Rachel Potter I would recommend checking out their "I Knew You Were Trouble/As Long As You Love Me' as Layne shows you a surprise talent that I won't spoil for you here.

    I think you're the first reactor I've seen who actually knew Rachel! Yes, she was on X-factor and played Wednesday. You're correct. She has been featured in VoicePlay songs rather often. I think she might be the most frequent collaborator, although that was more in the past. I think mostly because she is not local to them anymore. However, she did sing with them in the last few years on their medleys for "Greatest Showman" and "Wicked".

    Both Peter Barber and The Charismatic Voice have great interviews with Geoff. He claims to be a baritone, but they both say he is a bass from his speaking voice.

    Layne is extremely good at putting together medleys. (He worked on the Butts medley for Home Free). And with his computer degree, he can also handle adding the special effects. (He’s learned and perfected a lot of complex special effects for their Pattycake videos)
    You should see what he had in store for Running Up That Hill!

    I think I remember Geoff narrating the little mermaid story.. he's also done a video on hearing loss as his wife Kathy wears hearing aids... also videos on how to sing low as well as other stories he's narrated. Xx

    On his own videos Geoff often adds an outro where he gives thanks to viewers and patrons. You'll hear his speaking voice then. Layne owns and runs Pattycake Productions and has a studio which is a treasure trove of all the stuff they use in their videos. Most of their videos and some of Geoffs are filmed there.

  • @DravenGal
    @DravenGal Před 6 měsíci +9

    You should check out Voiceplay's cover of Phantom Of The Opera. It's an older "version" with Tony Wakim (baritone) instead of J. None. Together Tony and Layne own Pattycake productions, which gives VP access to killer sets. And it's location is in the mall where VP does many of their Shorts and Minis.

  • @DravenGal
    @DravenGal Před 6 měsíci +5

    Omigosh! I've seen this plenty of times, but never before realized that the Bass "Yee-hoe!" was J. None! I see why he's singing Bass in the Naval choir. He may not go as deep as Geoff, but that's some fantastic Bass action right there! And I also just noticed when Ariel throws the "Thingamabob" over her shoulder, it doesn't come down! Maybe that shark grabbed it. This one also woke me up to the fact that the prince in TLM doesn't have any songs himself.
    As for Layne, he's kind of the Mickey Dolenz of Voiceplay, using props and having surprising skills, and the "drummer." But you may be a bit young to get that reference. I'm old.

    New subscriber here....mainly because you are reacting to VoicePlay. They are fantastic, and I can't go a day without watching one of their vids or reaction to their vids. It's always exciting to find a new reactor to their covers. Some of my favorites are "Dream On", "Rich Man/Girl", "Running up that Hill" (Stranger Things reference, make sure you watch until the credits roll!), any of their Disney Medleys, and of course, ALL of their Halloween related stuff!

    Rachel's voice in this is perfect. If you want to hear more Rachel, Aurora below has some, but Phantom of the Opera, The Greatest Showman, O Holy Night, Moana, Wicked, I Knew You Were Trouble/As Long As You Love Me, a VP mini - Bob's Burgers. Rachel has about 3 yrs of doing Arial at Disney so she is the true Disney princess. She now lives in Nashville so we don't get to hear her as often. Oh, she's also in Just Sing which is VoicePlay's tribute to all the people that have been a part of their singing over a couple of decades. Remember if you react to this one, make sure you have the captions on so you and we will know exactly what each of the folks claim to fame is and what they sang with VoicePlay. This was done 3 1/2 years ago during covid, via Zoom and assembling it into a coherent video.

    The end if Drunken Sailor was Geoff promoting joinung their patron. But if you want mire then he has some stories/books that he narrates on his channel like The Little Mermaid by Hans Christian Anderson and Tell-Tale Heart and the Raven from Edger Allan Poe, plus more.
    I'm so glad you knew who Rachel is, that saves time introducing her so far she tge onw who has done the most features with Voiceplay.
    Rachel also performed at Disneyworld for 5 years as Ariel, Belle and a few other characters, where she meet and became friends with various members of Voiceplay.

    I love Eli's lower range. He is just so smoothe. He will sometimes cover Geoff's bass when he solo's, depending on the make up of the group at the time. Moana Medley is a great example.

    Of course Layne takes the toys home! And he plays with his little girl - saw a video where he sang this while she is fighting (and laughing) to get her little flounder toy out of his hand 😄. They all have such a great sense of humour - hence it not being a stretch to put comedic relief in their videos. 🌹🕊

    On his own videos Geoff often adds an outro where he gives thanks to viewers and patrons. You'll hear his speaking voice then. He has made videos on How To Sing Low and other various subject,s so take a look at those. Or his videos of him reading short stories or poetms. Layne owns and runs Pattycake Productions and has a studio which is a treasure trove of all the stuff they use in their videos. Most of their videos and some of Geoffs are filmed there. They will always use a female guest when the song makes it appropriate. Rachel is a frequent guest. Yes she's done a fair bit on Broadway. VoicePlay are unique in my view. Rachel has the perfect Disney Princess Voice. She played Ariel at the Disney parks for five years singing that song. So she’s really really good at it. This one always makes me smile. The little mermaid is not my favorite movie but this is one of my favorite videos that they’ve done.
    PattyCake Productions, co-owned by Layne, produced an amazing video called the Evolution of Ariel. It covers from the cartoon through the live action to the newest video. It’s well worth a watch if not a reaction.
