- 8 Tyre Dressings: Which One To Pick?
I've been searching for the "perfect" tyre dressing for a number of years, but always seem to struggle with finding one I like. Maybe I'm just being too picky. Anyway, in this video we take a look at 8 tyre dressings that I've accumulated over the past year or so.
We take a look at application and initial impressions, durabilty after a week and also after 2 weeks, and see how each has degraded over that time.

Loving the daily content - great work!
Thanks
Great video, very interesting to watch, I have just ordered a bottle of Sam’s tyre dressing, so I’m glad that one did well lol 😂.
Im using carpro perl because i like having one product for all rubber and plastic surfaces. And also the fact that you can dilute it, so one 500ml bottle lasts such a long time!
Nice one 👍
Top video, much appreciated...loving the channel 👍
Thanks
Thanks for doing the hard work....confirms what I thought that I will carry on using carpro perl after every weekly wash. I feel that no matter which you use it doesn't really last over a week so may as well use a cheap diluted one like perl.👍
Yeah, a week seems to be the limit for a lot of them
Hi Mat, great review on these tyre dressings,im using Megs Endurance gel which is good stuff,Sam's detailing dressing looks alright,I must try some of these out.
Cheers. Definitely give the Sam's one a try and also the Dodo Juice one
I've tried quite a few different dressing, I've settled on Swissvax Pneu (2 coats) gives a lovely natural dressed Matt look. CarPro Perl was very good, as was Gyeon Tyre.
Nice 👍
I've been fussing about tyres for years, liked Meguiars and used for couple years, only complaint was a little bit of sling. Then I bought "Jenny's" 5L and it beats the rest for me. White car the sling stands out more and Jenny's is good as gold, easily applied with small sponge, run it round and leave for gloss finish or wipe with microfiber for satin sheen.
Get three washes out of one application too. I decant into empty handsoap bottles with fliptop.
Use the rest of the Meguiars on wife's grey car where you can't see the speckled sides! 😊
Nice one
Great test. Always frustrating when a tyre dressing wears off in under a week. I now use infinity wax which seems good for lasting.
Thanks for the info 👍
Takes me as long to wash my wheels and tyres now after watching detailers, as it used to take doing the whole car. 🚿I mentioned to Paul Dolden using an old pump top hand soap bottle for tyre dressings. All in the prep.
😂😂😂😂
Just started using the car chem gel it's brilliant stuff👍
Indeed. 👍
Interested in the dodo juice for something different, not seen it before but a true factory fresh look and good durability looks like a winner to me! I want my cars to look super clean and original so tyres not super shiny like they’ve just had a £10 in and out mini valet is a bonus
Definitely give it a try 👍
Interesting way to show the differences. Nice vid!
Thank you 👍
thoughts on koch chemie plaster star?
Good video mate, I'd be interested to see how the Dodo Juice product compares to Infinity Wax Plastic & Rubber wax for natural look 🤔
Mmmm.... 🤔
I think it’s more suited for old classic cars as shiny gloss tyre walls don’t suit them
Just my opinion
@@mikefranky I think colour has something to do with it. I think lighter cars suit the factory dark matte look and darker cars suit a glossy wet tyre. Just my opinion though.
Colour of the car and wheel style definitely have a lot to do with it really 👍
Not one that is raved about but Ive been using Alien Magic Lucky. Seems to soak into the tyre and keeps the tyre black for almost a month despite losing its initial shine within 2 weeks!
Nice. Not tried that (although have tried some other Alien Magic products).
That's good to hear, I've bought some in the black friday deals.
Have you done alloy wheel cleaners that woud be a good review matt
Working on a few things 😉
Not sure if its me Mat but on the Carchem part , about 15.01 to 15.03 looks a fault with the tyre wall , maybe worth a check . Im using Autobrite tyre dressing , mostly as its cheap in their sales twice a year and lasts me months even on 3 cars
Will take a look 👍 should be getting a new van in a couple of months anyway 👍
I still swear by Autofinese Satin. Personally I dont like a glossy finish but I think personal preference plays a good part in how you pick your favourite dressing
Definately
Koch chemie (silicone version) works extremely well for me. Even after 1 month and looks dead, beading is still insane. This is a very strange product. Yet the silicone free version is best suited for plastics and not rubber because it doesn't last as long. Maybe because the silicone seeps into the rubber? I'm unsure. For 1L @ £13 is a absolute steal 👍
Second favourite is Tac systems tyre coat. It's like milk yet has the best satin finish I've had to date. Been doing this game for 13 odd years and time is money in some circumstances. So always reach for tac systems on clients cars but Koch Chemie PS for my car
Nice, will have to take a look
Been using normal 303 Aerospace Rubber Protectant, works well.
Tried 303 was dry a hour later looked
@@bridoboy143 It seems to work well on our two cars tyres, but the tyres are under 12months old and Goodyear and Michelin. Not sure of the quality of rubber makes a difference.
dont think i have a good brand but i would of thought it would work on any rubber will give it another go i did put it on wile the trye was a bit wet so could be that
Nice. How did that go?
detailed online is not that great but their wax spray detailer is very good leaves a good shine and very slick on thr panels
Thanks for sharing
I use carpro perl 2 to 1 part water dilution applied sprayed into a brush. 2 weeks of driving in rain and after washing with a apc still looks black and satin plus a little goes a long way. Paid £13.50 for 500ml.
I need to get around to trying this
@@TheDetailingSpacewas going to buy some more but out of stock from most detailer suppliers.
😢
I use meguiars, it’s good on hankooks but not on Goodyear.
Mmm.... Never considered the tyre compound
What’s the issue with Goodyear? Michelin primacy 3 have horrible walls for all gel dressings as there is really fine lines that it either doesn’t get between or blobs over and slings so a spray on one is a must for those, but generally on any other I go for Meguires endurance gel too
Dear oh dear, that Dodo Juice looked non existent!!
The Dodo Juice one is viable, but rather than a glossy look, it's a very matt/natural look
I like Dodo Juice.
Same, one of my favourite brands
How long will the dodo juice last do you think
I'll have a look in a moment. I think now is the end of week 3, in fact, first day of week 4....add @randomlyset on Instagram for an update
@@TheDetailingSpace thanks
No problem 👍
I had car chem and it was super thick gel very sticky hard to apply
Never had a problem with application tbh
That's because you must have used far too much!!!
i dont think you can beat autoglym rubber dressing, its spot on
Not used that for YEARS!
@@TheDetailingSpace i bought a big tin cheap ,i have tried loads of different ones but i always go back to autoglym in fact the tin its in is rusty thats how long i have had it
😂👍
Should have done half a tyre on each wheel 😉
😂
Is no one using poorboys anymore. All the YT I have seen, The are not using poorboys. Is it not so popular, or is it not good products?
I have a couple of their products. Still good stuff tbh
The girls seem to like tyre dressings then
🤣 So nice of you to say 💘💘💘💘💘💘
Haha
Car pro Perl is only one you need and you didn’t try it 🙈
I know. Never used it. Really should get around to trying it
Because its total crap!!! One rain shower and its gone.
