  • 8 Tyre Dressings: Which One To Pick?
I've been searching for the "perfect" tyre dressing for a number of years, but always seem to struggle with finding one I like. Maybe I'm just being too picky. Anyway, in this video we take a look at 8 tyre dressings that I've accumulated over the past year or so.
We take a look at application and initial impressions, durabilty after a week and also after 2 weeks, and see how each has degraded over that time.

Im using carpro perl because i like having one product for all rubber and plastic surfaces. And also the fact that you can dilute it, so one 500ml bottle lasts such a long time!

Thanks for doing the hard work....confirms what I thought that I will carry on using carpro perl after every weekly wash. I feel that no matter which you use it doesn't really last over a week so may as well use a cheap diluted one like perl.👍

I've tried quite a few different dressing, I've settled on Swissvax Pneu (2 coats) gives a lovely natural dressed Matt look. CarPro Perl was very good, as was Gyeon Tyre.

I've been fussing about tyres for years, liked Meguiars and used for couple years, only complaint was a little bit of sling. Then I bought "Jenny's" 5L and it beats the rest for me. White car the sling stands out more and Jenny's is good as gold, easily applied with small sponge, run it round and leave for gloss finish or wipe with microfiber for satin sheen.
Get three washes out of one application too. I decant into empty handsoap bottles with fliptop.
Use the rest of the Meguiars on wife's grey car where you can't see the speckled sides! 😊

  • @sixtysecondsofstephens2386

Great test. Always frustrating when a tyre dressing wears off in under a week. I now use infinity wax which seems good for lasting.

Takes me as long to wash my wheels and tyres now after watching detailers, as it used to take doing the whole car. 🚿I mentioned to Paul Dolden using an old pump top hand soap bottle for tyre dressings. All in the prep.

Interested in the dodo juice for something different, not seen it before but a true factory fresh look and good durability looks like a winner to me! I want my cars to look super clean and original so tyres not super shiny like they’ve just had a £10 in and out mini valet is a bonus

I think it’s more suited for old classic cars as shiny gloss tyre walls don’t suit them

    • @SpeckyMcSporran

@@mikefranky I think colour has something to do with it. I think lighter cars suit the factory dark matte look and darker cars suit a glossy wet tyre. Just my opinion though.

Not sure if its me Mat but on the Carchem part , about 15.01 to 15.03 looks a fault with the tyre wall , maybe worth a check . Im using Autobrite tyre dressing , mostly as its cheap in their sales twice a year and lasts me months even on 3 cars

I still swear by Autofinese Satin. Personally I dont like a glossy finish but I think personal preference plays a good part in how you pick your favourite dressing

Koch chemie (silicone version) works extremely well for me. Even after 1 month and looks dead, beading is still insane. This is a very strange product. Yet the silicone free version is best suited for plastics and not rubber because it doesn't last as long. Maybe because the silicone seeps into the rubber? I'm unsure. For 1L @ £13 is a absolute steal 👍
Second favourite is Tac systems tyre coat. It's like milk yet has the best satin finish I've had to date. Been doing this game for 13 odd years and time is money in some circumstances. So always reach for tac systems on clients cars but Koch Chemie PS for my car

I use carpro perl 2 to 1 part water dilution applied sprayed into a brush. 2 weeks of driving in rain and after washing with a apc still looks black and satin plus a little goes a long way. Paid £13.50 for 500ml.

    • @gillywash1487

What’s the issue with Goodyear? Michelin primacy 3 have horrible walls for all gel dressings as there is really fine lines that it either doesn’t get between or blobs over and slings so a spray on one is a must for those, but generally on any other I go for Meguires endurance gel too
