My Father fought with the Gurkhas many years ago in Burma
He maintained they are fierce fighters..no fear..it was a priviledge
Mine too
We are very lucky to have such an elite force!
We train them to become elite! They also feel lucky to be here we need to double the intake atleast!
What about French foreign legion?
@@MyScotty7 stop being racist, and see why they became part of the British army
@@alanmcmillan6969How is he being racist? They aren’t born Elite , granted they have cultural differences which benefit (larger lung capacity due to the region they are from etc) , but ultimately it IS the training they receive that puts them above the rest.
@@MyScotty7 I don’t know the current situation but in the past the Gurkhas have been treated very badly, whether that was down to the Government, the British Army or who, I don’t know. I do know that I’m ashamed that that could happen to such dedicated and loyal troops. I once had the misfortune to have myself, my passengers, my vehicle, my horse trailer and even under the horse searched by Gurkha Guards, even though I was there legitimately and knew that I wasn’t doing or carrying anything I shouldn’t I was practically shaking in my boots. They’re worth their weight in gold as far as I’m concerned .
I met a Gurkha Sergeant in Afgan, they are very serious soldiers..thank God there in our team
Congratulations, we are priveledge to have you in our forces gentlemen.
My father was in a Gurkha unit in Burma in WW2 and always had great faith in their abilities.
My grandad was there, said he always preferred going into positions cleared by the Gurkhas as they were ‘thorough’!
@@csten any RAMC any chance ?
We should hire more Gurkhas!
My father was a RAF radio operator in a Gurkha unit in the Chindits behind Japanese lines in Burma Spoke highly of them I heard some of the stories ! Currently trying to research his time there
@@jnairac Infantry company.
Some of the finest light infantry on the planet, Great respect.
Love these guys, real men - brave, yet humble warriors!
🇬🇧 🇳🇵
Thanks for sharing,
ATB Gus 👍🏼
We are very very proud of them - their military skills and their great loyalty to Britain. I just hope that all this is properly and fully recognised by the MOD and our politicians.
No. Many politicians would like to exclude foreign-born citizens from the UK. It makes them popular with tiny-minded fools.
I had the pleasure of working with some Gurkha’s in Afghanistan. These guys are some of the most professional, fearless, and humble soldiers you will ever meet.
A Big man with a little knife is NOWHERE near as SCARY as a Little Man with a BIG KNIFE!
My Dad fought alongside the Gurkhas in Italy in WW2 - and they TERRIFIED the Enemy!
The finest of people, fearless, loyal, hard working. We should be forever grateful for their unfailing loyalty and service to our country.
Colonial services to be precise.
They're amazing. I just wish the government of this country would appreciate them more.
So true, I was deployed with them and they are so honourable and loyal, lay their lives on the line for our country and they are not fully appreciated by the government. Such a shame
There are none braver or more committed than the Gurkha. We are so fortunate that the Gurkha still wants to be a part of the British Army. It is so disappointing that it took so long for them to be accepted as a British citizen and live here with their family. Well done Joanna Lumley.
Proud to have served alongside Gurkhas. From mortar concentrations in Otterburn to South Georgia, back end of 1982.
As a uk citizen I’d like to thank the Gurkhas for their service
Some Gurkhas found me lying on the hard ground in a foreign country- and carried me to a place of safety......... Top chaps
What amazing Soldiers. Dedicated, loyal and totally professional. Good luck with your British Army career Gentlemen and may God Bless you 🙏
Proud that they do what they do for Britain and so proud that I know one personally as part of my family
The pride of the British Army! 🇬🇧
Thank God they’re on our side!! 😊😊
I had the honour of going into the Malay Jungle with the GURKHAS in 1961 a brief but enlightening tour. Never to be forgotten. I heard stories of them from my Grandfather who served in India many years before. He was presented with a kukri and passed it onto his son, my uncle. I have respected and admired them since childhood. To serve with them briefly was the highlight of my life.
God knows we need these boys now more than ever 🙏
Brilliant and loyal soldiers. Total respect.
I'm from the USA and still love these dudes. They are studs.
No, they are Gurkhas! British soldiers who can fight, dance & sing Gospel. Search here, "Hallelujah Gurkha" Enjoy!!
those uniforms have so much swagger. 👌😮💨
And to think these guys had issues moving to the UK. And yet these dingy divers get in to the UK and sponge of the state. The UK should be honoured to have this regiment.
Great people
Well done. Go Gorkhali!
no more faithful friend , no more fearsome enemy AYO GUKALI
Top men, top people, top soldiers.
I salute all the young men from Nepal who become Gurkhas. Well done and congratulations for making the course. May your service be distinguished and fruitful.
We are privileged to have the Gurkhas, a fierce company of men, brave and loyal to Britain. Thank you guys
I hope these guys pay and pensions have improved, it is disgraceful how they have been treated by the government. Outstanding people all of them..
Agreed. The UK done them wrong, after all their years of dedicated service. Fix it, Britain!
Brilliant soldiers-humble and loyal to their very core.
Thank God they're on our side! Good on you'se for defending our democracies and standing up to tyranny! Much love from Australia.
Fantastic fighting force the Gurkhas have helped win many wars for Great Britain.
Just amazing are Gurkhas. so proud they are part of the British army
So, so proud to have Nepalese mercenaries execute your missions? Strange source of pride.
@@AethelwulfOfNordHymbraLand2333 you need to know the difference between mercenaries and genuine soldiers. from that comment you don't.
Ye because your own white soldiers are inferior.
@@AethelwulfOfNordHymbraLand2333
Yeah these people are brainwashed and pathetic. Cant even find people in their own country who want to fight for that crumbling police state but beg for some poor asian nepalis to come die for them. Like some rich nerd needing the in poverty living gym jock to defend him in school
I love the gurkhas so so sooo much. Nothing but the highest respect for them, 🇬🇧 🤝 🇳🇵
We are so lucky to have such honourable, dedicated, proud and smart soldiers, who want so much to serve in the British mob and let’s not forget how much they scare the bejeebers out of our enemy’s lol. In the Falklands the rumour was spread amongst the Argie conscripts, that the Gurkhas were going to eat them lol. I believe it was the ‘blood clot’ who started that rumour 😂😂😂😂
A British general once said, "If a man says he is unafraid in combat, he's either lying or a Gurkha."
With Ghurkas, the Kukri is a survival tool.
It changes everyone else's game mode from 'creative' to 'survival', at least.
Love and respect from Pakistan to my nepali brave brothers
Congratulations to sapper Dawa Mingure Bhote and all the other fine soldiers!
Great skills to take home and pass on as well.
Fantastic….and a history to live up to…
One of the most feared warrior of all time
These men are amazing and are role models for all. Such excellence!
Seeing as we're struggling to recruit here, let's recruit lots more Gurkha's from Nepal. Fit, tough, disciplined, and desperately keen to serve, exactly what we need in our military!
My fathers last posting before being demobbed after 12 years of being in the army catering corp was with the Gurkha's in Penicuik from 1972 to 1975.
They are a very humble people who are very proud to be part of the British Army.
How do we make British kids wanting to achieve rather than playing computer games?
Parents.
Who buys them video games?
Small but lethel ' 50 of these man ' could stop 500 ' we love these soldiers ' any young recruit should watch & learn ' you will see how fearsom these men are ' 🇬🇧 & lucky to have the gurka's ' & SAS + the royal marines ' simply the best ' quality 🇬🇧👍
They're great people and even better soldiers 🙏🏼🇬🇧

@@kleinjahr true, it was ment as a compliment though
Thankyou to these brave yet humble soldiers 🙏

What amazingly, brilliant Warriors. So much respect for those men 🫶
Congratulations and well done gentlemen, may you all have a prosperous and productive future within the British Army. I can’t believe it was nine months since you were eating fish and chips in Whitby! Stay safe and be well.
the Gurkhas are legendary. Much respect to them!
Recruit more Ghurkas.
And Sikhs from Punjab, Highlanders and Irish pikemen.
Because we still live in the 19th century don't we ?
Wars have moved away from knives and infantry
@@marciaedwardscrown I see a lot of infantrymen in UKR...
@@expatexpat6531 these Ukraine and Russian are not fighting a modern war. They are using 1914 tactics of trench warfare and static war.
The U.S and NATO use airpower as their key lynchpin in defeating their enemy. Then Infantry and vehicles go just for patrol duty really. That's modern war tactics.
No one uses masses infantry charges like these slavs are doing
@@marciaedwardscrown lol they havent
@@expatexpat6531 because the slav are fighting a 1914 war with trenches and artillery. Neither side possess aerial dominance.
Modern armies like Britain win the air war and ground troops just go into patrol areas.
In what possible situation will you ever have anyone using a knife in modern combat
Gurkha soldiers are some of the fiercest toughest fighting soldiers that ever lived
Congratulations to everyone of the Gurkha engineers, let’s hope the government don’t let these fabulous fellers down again and like a lot of our other veterans. Bless you and I wish you all the very best.
My father was a RAF wireless operator in a Gurkha unit in the Chindits in Burma Spoke highly of these guys
May god bless the King’s Gurkhas! Outstanding dedicated men. “Fear the man with the crooked knife”!🇳🇵🇺🇸
As Ukraine has shown, bayonets, melee and hand-to-hand are still very much a reality in modern warfare. There's been a lot of accounts of people surrendering when out of ammunition and them being executed on the spot.
Ukraine has shown that melee is a thing of the past. Not a single documented proven occurence of someone being stabbed. These guys are just silly with their prancing. Same level as the north korean and russian melee shows trying to look all hard. Or the maori, who got buttslapped and their country taken to this day by the britbongs. The nepalese are so hard they need to become mercenary for some far away white country but get owned by the chinese lmao
Fantastic. We're so proud of these men. ❤
Plumbers with attitude!
Much respect, Gurkhas
The Gurkhas are noble and fierce warriors. We in Britain are lucky to have them. Our politicians should respect this fact by never sending them into war in foreign soil on a false premise, like so many times in the past.
Well done to all of you boys. You do our and your country incredibly proud. You're some of the best of the best.
My uncle was in Burma with the R.A.F in 1942 with his squadron and he always told me how brave they were and how many went into battle with just their Kukhri knife........
I worked in a part worn tyre garage near Canterbury when the Ghurkas were there. Polite, patient great lads. I pushed them to the front of the queue when the boss was away,i still remembered the respect my Dad had for them after doing his National Service with them in Malaya...
Why these guys have had to fight for a fair pension is beyond me!
The British Army desperately needs more Gurkhas, at least two or three Brigades to then be given Special Operations Level Training etc. To my mind, they have the potential to match the performance of the Paras and Royal Marines easily. Well done Chaps, great work!
I'm proud of all of you also.
To come thousands of miles and endure everything thrown at them you have to admire them
Not sure why the British Army dont just hire half our armed forces as Gurkhas. They would all give their left toe for a chance and we need more soldier!
We do not deserve such heroes
No. Russia does
I am preparing for British gurkha hope my hardwork pays off😊 love from Nepal to uk people❤️
@@AsbinGrg670 nice British women are waiting for you along with free housing and money
Everyone forgets the pride and history of these men during wars but you wouldn’t want to be on the wrong side of them
My Dad was Special Forces Green Beret in the 80's, he still has the Kukri he was given by the Gurkha's,he said their the toughest dudes he trained with
From one Sapper, to all these new Sappers, welcome to the best family you'll ever want.
Love the Gurkhas! We salute you.
Amazing and so much more than mere soldiers.
Incredible respect from the States.
A Truly World Class Elite Force!
Smart lads! I hope they know that however our higher ups have treated them in the past/will treat them in the future, the British people hold them in the highest regard.
100% true.
They are the most humbling human beings
Lost love from nepal to our county brother we wish you make our county nepal proud
Great lads you are the pride of the King and Nepal. My auntie taught there in Kalimpong and one of her pupils was Sherpa Tensing.
You mean being cucked so hard that instead of defending your country you let some far away white imperialist country come and pick the best men of the country to take them and use them as cannonfodder for their wars? They are the biggest shame for nepal. Mercenary for the white man
Smart looking bunch of soldiers. Best of luck to all of them.
My father told me stories about them and they were the greatest steth fighter's.
An uncle of mine fought alongside them in WW2 and couldn't praise them highly enough as fighting men.
These lads are built different… small but incredibly fit. Every one of them needs to be offered British citizenship if they see combat, they can not be left alone once they have finished their tours
Amazing very brave men , these are the people we need in the UK
The United Kingdom should offer citizenship to all the gurkhas who have served and should allow them to bring their immediate family members to 🇬🇧.
At least somebody's joining the British Army
My previous employer, a major American news organization. We had security officers from several branches of the US military, as well as specialized units. But we also had a retired British Gurkha as a security officer. If anything dangerous happened at the office my first instinct was to find that specific officer.
The thing about the Gurkha's is that they are pure meritocracy, no DEI, no reduced fitness standards only the best get through selection snd those who don't are probably at least as fit as the average intake. If you are going to have a small army you want the very best, the most lethal weapons you can create not the most fashionable!
Maybe ever army in NATO should have a Gurkha Regiment. Absolutely stellar people:)
Wow! Now that's what looking good is!
Nothing but Respect for these guys 🇬🇧🇳🇵
God bless these kids!
Congratulations to these young men, they descend from some of the most stalwart people, kinda like Bullet Proof Monks....😀
We are so proud that the Gurkhas fight on our side.
