- We have been M.I.A. for a while, but with the release of the Meta Quest 3 headset, we couldn't stay away. This is a look at our first impressions of the headset. Some thoughts and opinions on it, want we like and what we don't like so far. Plus some goofing off as usual....

I haven't gotten a Quest 3 yet. I was waiting to see what people think of it.
I am definitely ready for some Coffee & VR though. Saturdays aren't the same with out you guys.
I think its a great headset, minus the strap. So as long as you account for buying that as well, I think its incredible.
They're lying I got mine yesterday at 930am and honestly they need to do more because I would still be fine playing my quest 2 . I don't want to invest anymore money on my quest 3 until I get some games to make this purchase worth it
@@bullsback23I have one too and I don’t know what to do with it, beatsaber was frame dropping over air link and I don’t know how to fix it bc this is my first vr headset I’m not familiar with all the settings yet

@bullsback23 Yeah, if you already have a Quest 2 I don't think there is a rush to get the Quest 3, at least not yet. We will probably talk about that more on a Coffee & VR show.

Q pro would be a tough buy for me now, bc even a Q3 + Pro controllers are cheaper. But yeah, those are great ideas for comparison
The reason it will feel lighter is because the weight is on a shorter lever. When it hangs out further, the weight has more leverage. That's why it would feel lighter
Yeah 100% right, it definitely feels lighter on my face, and I can really tell bc my neck has issues and that's the first thing to effect me. I can't wait to counter it with the Bobo m3 and see how it really feels
CZcamsrs pass-through looks way better than what you get. My guess is their professional lighting. If you have normal or dimmer house lighting it looks grainy af
Yeah you need alot of lighting for passthrough
Lighting also helps with tracking accuracy. CZcamsrs also need it for their cameras as well, kinda the same principle as the pass through cameras

I still have the Quest 1... so I'm looking forward to upgrading! The mixed reality looks really fun... I want to be able to play Jumanji in my house with friends and have my house turn into a rainforest.
It will definitely be a pretty big upgrade from Quest 1, and playing Jumanji in the house with mixed reality would be insane!!!

Nice one guys! Are the knuckle straps elasticated or soft lined or.....? Are they comfortable?
Just a taste elastic and decently soft. Don't see it being a problem, as I want them solid and reliable, too stretchy and I would be scared they might come off
touch pro controllers also have 3 haptic points vs the single one in the q2/q3 (explaining some of the extra weight).
Good point!! I really like the Pro controllers, but idk if they are worth the upgrade for those that don't already have the Pro headset.
The pass through does what it needs to. I can watch tv but still interact with my family walk around pet my dog, go to the kitchen. It will get better with time, but I’ll take it.
Totally agree!! Nice to be able to see my computer screen without taking the headset off.
The vr cover are the best grips. Used them on quest 2, pro controls and now 3
VR cover has always been out go to VR accessory since they started

Am i missing out on much if im buying a pc this year exclusively for pcvr on my quest 2? Is the quest 3 that much bigger of an improvement if im not going to be playing on standalone?
I still think the Quest 2 is a great headset, if you're just using pcvr the. You won't really be taking advantage if the better on board processor, but the 3 does have better lenses, and screen resolution, plus has wifi 6e capabilities for wireless pcvr streaming.

Which head strap do i buy, the elite strap, bobos or kiwi? Which strap is the better option if i want to lay down but dont want to use the standard strap? Would the elite strap without battery suited for this?
Personally, my heart is set on the Bobo m3 pro. But I couldn't wait the 2 weeks on it, so I ordered a cheap elite style one on Amazon and actually really like it. amzn.to/3ZW3szl

What's the deal with your yaw 2? Haven't seen any videos other than initial impressions and the pro headset....how does it run now?
It's still going good, I did some vidoes with GT7 and the PSVR2 with the Yaw 2
How do you activate mixed reality in synth riders? Did not find an option in the settings
Should be an option on there before you go in, to use mixed reality
The warping of the pass through needs to be addressed for close objects. It’s very apparent and distracting. Sort it out please Meta.
The funny thing is when you cover one camera it looks correct.
Fingers crossed for an update to make it better soon.
Yeah, I would guess it can be addressed in future updates. The Quest 2 as a whole improved a ton over time with updates.

@@shmity1984 I’m still on the fence about a quest 3 and beyond. I’m still waiting on Q3 accessories before jumping in I think. I’m not a fan of cloth straps Varjo just looks too bulky to me.
Would the bobovr b2 dock also fit the vive deluxe audio strap?

I was hoping Costco would carry the 512 GB version. I don't care about Asgards Wrath 2 or the Elite strap or even the case included in the current bundle. I'll be getting the BoboVR M3 Pro and I'll definitely need straps for the controllers.
Yeah I was surprised by this as well, bc usually costco offers more premium items. But for the price, it's still a good deal considering the additional cost of the factory strap. But imo getting the 512 and a bobo m3 is a better combo

I would say the lenses are definitely better then the Pico 4. Quest Pro and Quest 3 lenses are probably the best lenses I have seen.
I think the pro 2 will approach, if not beat, Pimax crystal territory.
there are some printable Adapters on line so you can use your Quest 2 Headstraps on Quest 3
Yeah, can't wait to try them later. Hopefully the m2 will stretch wide enough for them to work

I don’t understand why the captured video passthru looks better than in headset.
Because in the vrv headset you're looking at the rendered frames through a tiny screen thats then stretched across your fov using lenses. Meaning there is always glare, distortion, chromatic aberration to some extent, unevenness in the brightness of the leds across the panel getting magnified, you're magnifying the gaps between pixels, and even the pixels themselves so you see black dots inside colours because you can see the deactivated parts of the rgb matrix.
But watching the pure screen image on a phone or a TV your not getting any of that, so it looks "better"

The pricing is as expensive as PSVR2. Right now I'm on the fence which one to get... any idea guys?, my PC is barely run VR games and I have a PS5.
I would go with Quest 3, as it has way more possibilities of how to use it. And one of the biggest being wireless. And a ton of games and accessories available. And you might not have a powerful enough pc now, but if at some point you would, it could be used with that. PSVR2 is a great headrest of you have a ps5 already, but I feel like it's limited by the games available to play
Honestly psvr if you got the console, then grab the eventual 256gb Q3 in a year at 500usd.
Man this is a tough choice.. haven't found mods to connect to PC yet with PSVR2, and there's already VR mode on some of my PS libraries like NMS, Ace Combat, GT7.. but the mixed reality with wireless is revolutionary. Seeing some CZcamsrs playing SAO outside in the open looks awesome.
I have the PS5 also, but I like the standalone of the quest. The MR is crazy, can't wait to see what's coming

We've never been given any headset, all have been purchased, so to not have any affiliation or biased towards any company at all, as most reviewers do. Sadly it's the nature of the beast of you want to play that game. But yeah, we have no filters so we don't get invited 😂

O yeah, it's definitely easy to see the snakes in the grass if you know how to look for them. But for sure, not all reviewers are out there for the wrong reasons
I have tried the quest 3 and felt disappointed by it. The video pass through is blurry and battery life is terrible. And the mixed reality stuff feels gimmicky.
I think at this point most of the mixed reality stuff is pretty gimmicky. Hopefully stuff in the future will be pretty cool, and useful though. Did you have good lighting using the passthrough? It helps it look better. It's still not perfect but better then other headsets passthrough

It'll be a while before a stand alone headset will be light. Even if we had lighter batteries, it's going to be hard to back that much processing power and tech into something light. But I wish it was, especially with my neck issues

Oh man for me it's terrible. Have you tried any other strap with the headset? I have to imagine you would like it much better. Everyone finds comfort different though.
