    I use a 24" diameter water heater drain pan. The pan comes un-drilled and is 3" deep. I add Dawn dish detergent and water to the pan, drop the grate in the soapy water and let it soak a few hours or even overnight if I don't have time to clean it after grilling. The grate can then be wiped clean with little effort. The pan is also available in 28" which will accommodate the Weber 26" grate. This works well with stainless steel grates, but may cause rust with non-chromium enhanced metals.

      Water heater drain huh....imma have to try that. I like to deep clean my grates at least once a year. Thanks for the information.

    Great video. Do you use the degreaser?
    I can’t find any information online about how safe it is to use degreasers or oven cleaners to clean grills, so citrus is the safest bet.

    • @BackyardSmoke614
      @BackyardSmoke614  Před rokem +1

      I only use a food safe decreased If it's super bad. I have used restaurant quality degreaser but dawn and elbow grease do the job. Kingsford. Add a grill foam spray as well it's strong but works well

    Hi, below your cleaning system (3 fan cleaning part), do you have tiny scratches? I've not had my BBQ long and cooked on it 4 or 5 times, but I see tiny hairline scratches & I'm worried if I get it wet, it may start to rust.

    • @BackyardSmoke614
      @BackyardSmoke614  Před 3 lety

      So the fan I have not had any rust issues, i have had this kettle for over a year. if you are worried about that use a non abrasive cloth and a good degreaser if you want. Overall I think you will be good.
