      Date it, minister's name, main topic, Scripture reference; bullet points, breakdown of chapter (if minister gives it), color code sections, listen to how to apply it, minister usually ask the questions like (which one of these things do you feel you need to work on?). If it speaks to my heart, make note of it and place a star by it. When time permits - go back and review on youtube to see if I missed anything.

    As someone who loves note taking, listening to preaching, while having ADHD. it’s so easy to get bogged down by new information as it comes. So it’s comforting to know that it’s okay to not get everything down. Or if you miss a point it’s alright. What’s important is that your listening and growing from the truths you are hearing!

    The whole "review and apply" is SO important. Sadly, I need to remember that so much more than I do. Appreciate your insights!

    Thank so much. I’ve been a note taker for years and it was pretty easy to follow. That was when i was in a Arminst (sp?) CHURCH. But now I am by God’s grace in a real church with a pastor that was taught at Masters Seminary. Note taking became so difficult. It was hard to follow point by point but your video has helped so much thanks

    I love taking notes at church. My biggest problem doing this is taking care of my kids at the same time. I love my kids, but they make it hard to engage in the topics.
    Also, I use my Ipad app Notability and my apple pen to take notes (when I can). If I get some kind of inspiration that I want to remember, I always put *** before the phrase that I write.

    This is SO GOOD! Thank you for sharing these suggestions ESPECIALLY Review and Apply🙌🏽 As I’m getting back into note taking during sermons that’s a step I’ve been missing.

    I try to share the information that I just learned, so that Ivan share it with others. That way, I have learned that I can retain much of the information by sharing it.

    This was absolutely up my alley.. I would love to have you contact community Bible church in Berlin New Hampshire. I would love to Maybe have you come and do a whole series on sermon note taking! I think it would definitely bless us as well as encourageous to know God's word more. Contact Jon Howry, he is the pastor!!! This would be something I would love to learn more. Also what is that note taking app that you have? I've always took notes but not as effectively as I want to and I really wants to have a good seminar on this

    Hi Reagan. What notes app do you use when you transfer the notes later?
    Thanks for sharing!

      Hey Matt! Currently I’m using LogSeq to store all my notes digitally. It’s a lot like Roam Research or Obsidian, if you’ve heard of those.

  •  Před 2 lety

    Thanks for share this content. I have a question for you. ¿Why don't you take notes directly in an app?

    • @reagantrose
      @reagantrose  Před 2 lety +2

      You're welcome! I don't take notes directly in an app because I find having my phone or iPad out in church is too distracting for me. I tend to want to check email or social media instead of paying attention.

    it is really obvious now you mention it, what is the point of writing notes if you dont review them, the point in writing is to record for later
