10 Things Every Fan Hates About Modern Football
The first thing has to be the international break. Yeah, we understand that qualifiers have to be played in preparation for international tournaments and all of that, but it really doesn’t stop the international break from being so annoying.
And you know what else both fans and coaches hate? Long VAR delays. See, fans have adjusted to the use of VAR, but the delay to get a decision right is something we’ll just never get used to.
Another thing we have found out that fans really hate is players getting heavily punished for follow-throughs or very natural movements. I mean, Marcus Rashford’s red card in the Champions League game against Copenhagen, for example, was nothing short of disgraceful.
Speaking of spice, we also hate how very robotic the game has become. A lot of players these days are just all about running and scoring-no skill, no flair, nothing.
Still on the players, their time-wasting tactics can actually be very annoying. We want to watch football.
Now, the next thing fans hate? Unimaginative jersey designs.

The one thing I dislike about modern football:
The over emphasis of statistics. If players such as Ronaldinho or Bergkamp were playing today, they'd be labelled as "overrated".

We may be divided on the international break though. Fans may hate it, but I think players love the international break, they love playing for their national teams. All great players may say this

Because then fans have nothing to watch, well why not watch the qualifiers? There's about 5 a day
I used to really wait for the international break, for the chance for my country to finally qualify for something. International breaks used to be few and far between, with matches at first only being played on Wednesdays and Saturdays and then Tuesdays and Fridays (why mid week? Lol) and with so few chances to qualify (my country never qualifies) but with some very exciting football with the best players from each country playing each otherml. Now we have a "week of football" and with more chances for injuries and jet lag and with too little time between games.
There has to be consequences for your mistakes because how are you suppose to learn from your mistake if you are not punished
They need to bring in the automated technology system into the premier league because that will probably ease the pressure on VAR and in particular the officials.
@3:40 it's a team sport. IMO the beauty comes from the teams working homogeneously, not one man doing 20 dribbles

If Im being honest here, managers need to find a healthy balance between style and substance. Im not saying tactics are irrelevant and useless but tactics and instructions should only be used for everything to do without the ball, if you have the ball, be imaginative and free-flowing but with an intelligence and work rate to cover up any probability of failure

Since VAR football doesn't flow as naturally as it used to. And that's coming from an AMERICAN who started watching during 2010. Its so system based nowadays, teams don't feel like they have freedom they used to have.
