Famous Politicians And Their Favorite Clubs
Let’s start with the Supreme Leader of North Korea, Kim Jung Un. The 39-year-old dictator might look like he doesn’t have time for sports, but he actually loves football and has said before that he’s a huge fan of Premier League club Manchester United.
He’s such a fan that he reportedly asked the state TV to broadcast Man United games in 2014.
Meanwhile, Vladimir Putin keeps his love in-house. His favorite club is Zenit St Petersburg and it is absolutely no secret. You would have expected the president to probably support the club of the capital which, in Russia’s case, would be Spartak Moscow or CSKA Moscow, but then, Putin was born in St. Petersburg, so his love for Zenit is actually not very surprising.
As for Donald Trump, he doesn’t really watch football, but according to him, he’s friends with the owners of Man United, so naturally, he leans towards the Premier League giants.
In an interview he did with the former US president, Piers Morgan tried to force Arsenal down Trump’s throat. He had a jersey ready with Trump’s name and the number 45 (you know, 45th president of the United States), but that wasn’t enough to make Trump switch allegiances to the London club.
But the man who Trump succeeded seems to support a London club. Barack Obama was once live in London to watch a West Ham game with his sister. I mean, that’s enough show of support from a world leader, isn’t it?

Honorable Mentions:
1.The Queen also supported Arsenal.
2.Silvio Berlusconi (the late Italian Prime Minister) had a strong relationship with AC Milan and AC Monza.
3.Real Madrid had always been associated with the Spanish royalty, even when they were under the military dictatorship of Franco.
THe Queen supported every london club
Rest in peace Berlusconi, his Milan reign was such a joy to follow over the years. He arguably created one of the best teams ever, being heavily involved in both tactics and signings, you dont find these type of owners anymore
@@Bubajumba This was a sad news for the whole Italian Football. The former President Giorgio Napolitano had also died a few months after Berlusconi. Similar to Sandro Pertini in Spain 1982, Napolitano also motivated the national team when they won the 2006 World Cup in Germany, despite not supporting the club itself (he always appear in the Coppa Italia Final, during the trophy presentation).
queen is dead tho
I forgot to include the last 2 former papacies because they had a good relationship with the football in the past:
1.Pope John Paul II: He was played as a goalkeeper during the old days with Cracovia and even supported Liverpool. Incidentally, the year when Pope died happened when Liverpool did the Miracle of Istanbul several weeks afterwards, and Jerzy Dudek, his successor, had even dedicated this great triumph to the late Pope. Dudek made a crucial saves that gave Liverpool the Champions League victory.
2.Pope Benedict XVI: The beginning of his papacy happened at the same time when his country, Germany, hosted the World Cup. During the tournament, he was really confused to predict the winners between Germany and Italy, as both teams met in the semifinal. After Germany finished third and Italy became the champions, the Pope praised both countries' performances. He also supported local club Bayern Munich, who had won the Treble only a few months after his resignation in 2013. Germany also won the World Cup a year later. He died on the last day of 2022, only several hours after the death of football legend Pele.
Raila Odinga, former prime minister of Kenya supports Arsenal, that's why they never win the league.

North Korea believes that Portugal won the 2010 World Cup. In the 2010 World Cup Portugal and North Korea faced each other. This was the first time a live football match was broadcast on North Korean television. Portugal won 7-0 but North Korea cut the live broadcast short so it was only 4-0 as the three other goals weren't scored yet. North Korea views this score as acceptable due to the greatness of their opponents and in North Korea Ronaldo is a apparently true idol for many people. Now in North Korea people believe that Portugal won the 2010 World Cup. Since Kim Jong Un is a Manchester United fan he might also be a Ronaldo fan so I think this was partly done because of that and because it was a live broadcast. I think Kim Jong Un purposely didn't make Portugal look bad because I think he is a Ronaldo fan. 💀
Pop's favourite team is actually BSC Young Boys 😆
