HOW MUCH DOES ASPHALT SEALING COST PER SQUARE FOOT?

  • Asphalt sealing cost per square foot is a common question by residential homeowners and contractors. If you're a residential homeowner that's hiring a contractor to seal coat your driveway, expect to pay between 25¢ to 45¢ per square foot. If you're a contractor who's looking for the cost of the materials that you're going to use for the job, you are looking at around 4¢ to 7¢ per square foot.
    The age and square footage of the asphalt affect these calculations. Aging asphalt requires more sealer than a brand new one and bigger properties need more sealer, longer working hours, and effort from a contractor.

      I'm trying to do small driveways here in CT during summer by hand. Are you taking .30-.40 including material?? I recently charged $350 for a 10 by 30 ish driveway. Spiderweb cracks sealed, debris and leaves blowed. Everything took me around 8 hours to complete. Material around $150 and work $200. Is that fair enough?? Because it defenetly wouldn't work for me if the material was included.

      @@RR-tq4sn were there a lot of linear feet of cracks? $1.25 per liner foot is a goo charge for crack filling. That must've been an older driveway, which you can charge more for. over time you will get much faster when completing this size driveway

      We should definitely get on a call to explore your pavement maintenance and repair needs. You’ll want to use commercial grade sealcoat and not a residential grade from big box stores. We can ship commercial grade equipment and supplies right to your job site to save you time and provide the quality needed to make your pavement project a win.

    Hi guys. I love the idea of going full on residential sealcoating. I'm not planning to buy big equipment yet, but if I do it in the near future I will definitely contact you.
    But talking about the video, if I do it by hand as I did it once this year, the by square foot estimate would not work for me. I sealcoated a driveway this last summer and It was like 10 by 30. I sealed a lot of spiderweb cracks and blowed all debris and leaves. It took me the whole day and around $150 material using the 10 year sealing. I charge $200 for the day plus the cost of the sealin and cracks filler. $350.00 total. I think it was fair for me and the client.
    So when you talk mention the square foot system is that including the material or just work?

    • @AsphaltKingdom
      @AsphaltKingdom  Před rokem

      Congrats on getting started and right out of the gate your material costs are 3 times higher than it should be. The $350 price seems about right but with a lot of spider cracks you should be charging a large chunk more as they are more time intensive. Your cost shouldn’t have exceeded $50 in material. We look forward to working with you and getting your costs down so you can be more profitable.

      @@AsphaltKingdom Thanks for the answers. That make sense. It was a three 5 gallon containers and 2 gallons of crack filler from Home Depot since I just have a car. @@RR-tq4sn have you considered doing pothole repair and making $1000+ per day just like other clients we have doing the same. Potholes are everywhere and they need to be repaired as they are tripping hazards and property owners could be dealing with liability challenges if not repaired. Hi, I just stumbled across your video as I am looking to bid on a 4,000 sq ft driveway. When I read the comments, I understand that the $0.25-0.45 is for the sealcoating ONLY. Can you please break it down as far as Pressure Washing goals, sealing of cracks and small holes? Thanks kindly!!!

      Great questions and happy to help. You'll be around $1.25 per foot for crack sealing and about $25 per sq ft for pothole repair. No need to pressure wash if you do a good scrub and blow off the driveway or parking lot.

It’s the most I could get

    I live on the east coast of North Carolina and I have to drive 2 and half hours one way to get materials so there’s no way I could make a profit at 25 cents to 45 cents a sq ft I start at 55 cents and have went up to as much as 95 cents a sq ft the only company’s that work cheap are the fly by nights . Think you should make a video that would explain to customers looking for prices to compare before they pick a company. Because if heard of customers getting online or CZcams when someone knocks on there door just to get a idea of what it should cost . Just a idea to think about that’s all God bless

      Makes no sense mathematically. You're just looking for an excuse to charge dramatically higher prices. Assuming you drive 300 miles round trip and that you buy enough material to do 10,000 sq. ft. in one trip, and that you figure 30 cents a mile and 35.00/hr for your travel cost... you could recover your costs adding just 2.5 cents per square ft to your prices.
