    I’ve used the airport grade and it is crap! I followed directions but the material cracked the next day and the mixture did not cover the area. I had to buy double the amount.

    • @infinityhomeservices

      That could sometimes happen. I've had a few driveways where it just didn't look good with one application.

    How long you waited until applying sealant after you filled the cracks ?

    • @infinityhomeservices
      @infinityhomeservices  Před 2 lety +1

      It depends on the product. The deep fill crack filler from latexite takes about 8 hours to dry from my experience. There's still a risk that it will either stain or not adhere if prematurely coated with driveway sealer. To stop this, I just apply the day before. TBH, I've stopped using cold pour cracks.
      Dalton Enterprises 36099 PLI-STIX 60 Ft. Asphalt and Concrete Crack Filler (2 Pack) a.co/d/8IFKytA
      I'm pretty sure Dalton Enterprises also makes Latexite. I've been using this since August and within 5 minutes you can seal the driveway.

    On a driveway like yours, yes, a squeegee is better. On an older driveway that's more porous, you'll wanna go with a broom or brush for better coverage.

    How long did you wait for the water to dry?

    • @infinityhomeservices
      @infinityhomeservices  Před 2 lety +3

      Not too long. I'll take a leaf blower to help speed up drying after pressure washing. It's also OK if there's some moisture. I'd say maybe 30 minutes to an hour.

    Does it adhere to a wet surface? It looked like the asphalt was wet still

    • @infinityhomeservices
      @infinityhomeservices  Před 2 lety

      Not soaking wet but if there's a little dampness it's ok 👌 even preferred on a really hot day with a driveway baking in the sun. Once you out down the sealer? That heats going to bond it and thicken it up so a little moisture on the driveway is great but anything pooling or pudding is asking for trouble.

    Do you mix sealcoating with sand so it won’t be any slippery or you don’t need to

    • @infinityhomeservices
      @infinityhomeservices  Před 11 měsíci +1

      Yes. I'll put a little in and give it a stir. Not much maybe a cup. There is sand already in it but adding def helps. Thanks for comment

      No this does not sadly. It's only meant for asphalt. I've never tried though. Depending on locations, I'm sure your local big box hardware store has concrete patch and sealers for your driveway.

      My driveway is over 35 years old and I have to do this every year since I'm in North New Jersey. The one crack opened up due to our winters. I'll be making a video on how to use crackstix to hot seal that crack. Driveway looks OK but I'm going to reseal again. Every time after I reseal it looks like a brand new driveway. 👌3 buckets $60 investment for upkeep OK by me!

    How many buckets ?

    • @infinityhomeservices
      @infinityhomeservices  Před 2 lety +1

      It really depends on the last time you sealed a driveway and how many coats. This one coat was about 2 and 1/2 buckets. If you haven't sealed your driveway in a long time..say 3-5+ years it will definitely be more since the asphalt will absorb more sealant.

    I got horrible results from this product. 1st it didn't cover the recommended sq ft it had on the label, I got about 1/2 that amount, then I bought 10 5 gal buckets and most of the liquid had a different thickness while mixing. it was all applied at around 85 degrees outside and it cracked and all came up the next day. During my prep I pressured washed the black top 3 times blew it off with a blower to make sure no dirt or dust was on the surface. I went above and beyond cleaning the surface. There is no oil or grease on the surface it's a black top area at a barn, so it just gets foot traffic no vehicle traffic. I do not recommend this product at all. I notified the mfg and sent pictures and they asked for more to try to determine why the product failed, then they wanted more pictures. That is when I said no, I'm not sending more pictures I explained each step I took to clean the surface explained how I applied it and they wanted more pictures. I gave close up pictures and over view and that wasn't good enough because they didn't want to say they had something wrong with their product. I later looked at the Home Depot site where other people had the same experience as I got using this same product.. so it wasn't the way I applied it or the way I cleaned the black top it was a problem with the product...

    • @infinityhomeservices
      @infinityhomeservices  Před 2 lety +5

      Hey Tom sorry about your bad experience with this... I've had a few situations arise from how you described. One of the biggest problems that can occur is this product becoming frozen during winter months. My local home depot I guess left a few buckets on a pallet and these froze which separated the water from sand and other chemicals. They never stored inside and when summer came I bought a lot of units.
      When I applied, it didn't have any good color that it usually had in the past and it was flaking up when any vehicles drove so you'd see the tracks.
      Did manufacturer ever correct the problem? Pics alone should be proof in the pudding from what you're describing. Sorry for your experience lol you can always hire me brother!
      Thanks for the comment.

      Definitely does not cover area as advertised. Be prepared to buy double the amount. Two trips to the depot a half hour away made the job a pain in the ass. I'm not sure I would reccomend this product based on my personal experience and wish I had chosen an alternative.
