Ethereum VS Ethereum Classic: What's The Difference?

- The Ethereum Merge generated a lot of interest in Ethereum Classic. The Merge is the event Ethereum has been building up to ever since its launch in 2015. It will transition Ethereum from a Proof of Work (PoW) consensus mechanism to Proof of Stake (PoS).
It will lower Ethereum’s energy footprint as well as decrease the costs of running a node. As a result, Ethereum will become more energy efficient and more decentralized.
Conversely, Ethereum Classic would remain the same - using PoW consensus. It has stayed under the radar for a while, whereas Ethereum has been the talk of the town. But as we get closer to the Merge, more miners are considering Ethereum Classic as an alternative.
So in this video, we will put Ethereum and Ethereum Classic together to see how they compare against each other.

ETC is now far more secure, since the merge, 51% attacks now would be extremely difficult.

Main thing is eth is centralized and requires the governance of ethereum foundation. Etc does not. Depends what's your cup of tea. As a trader, etc looks like it will be the winner one day.

That's wrong. We got hit with the attack but they did not get away with the money. Lol. And that's because the hash rate at the time was pretty low.
But we put things in place to keep that from happening again. And since then we have not suffered another attack. But in reality attacks just means that the system is working the way it was designed to work!

So basically both currencies kinda suck for holding a lot of monetary value, because nobody cares about ETC despite its irreversable transactions and now good security, and ETH because of its reversable transactions and lack of security due to the centralization, which is getting worse and worse due to the unsafe consensus mechanism proof os stake.
You should rather hold good old og BTC for storing monetary value.

@@PyVerse-47Okay, so if that were true, you can probably also name all Bitcoin transactions that had been undone in the past, yeah? You can never really centralize PoW networks. Meanwhile PoS networks can never really be decentralized. Its simply in their nature.
For a PoW network BTC is indeed rather centralized, but nothing comes close to Ethereums centralization (if you ignore Solana) when it comes to the bigger coins.
