Having been a moderate/heavy drinker for 7 years and feeling the effects on my body and some recent health scares, this video is just that much more of a motivator to finally quit, which I'm on day 4. Wish me luck and if you're in a similar situation, prayers to you.
Good luck!
All the best
Good luck my friend! From one alcoholic to another, you got this! Im now a year and 5 months, and i have felt healthier now at 30 than i did in my entire 20âs. Its worth the initial struggle, bet on that.
I quit in january and it was the best choice i made, i weighed it up as whenever i drink i feel like trash for 3 days mentally and physically and it wasnt a good deal for a night of fun, i drank way too much during lockdown and it was not good for me, all the best for your sobriety journey đȘ
I used Vivitrol shots once a month and they say go ahead drink you wonât feel it and it reprograms your brain to it. Been sober for 5 years now and I can have a single drink at partyâs with no issues.
Some of my best and worst stories are with alcohol.
THAT IS FOR SURE
Literally đ
I used to drink a lot during my life many years ago much out of depression issues. But seen the worst occur with a violent ex whom later died doing the same thing of consuming alcohol resulting in my own suicide attempt back in the days after returning from my deployment overseas. My depression levels has decreased a lot and currently on very strong medications due to my injuries from overseas and depression levels. As a result of this, I am blessed to not be drinking any longer and it is very rare that I pick up a single drink every few years usually during a family gathering. I am also single owning everything I ever wanted in life therefore I feel no need to ever drink alcohol ever again as it can destroy a relationship and I do not want anyone hurt emotionally or otherwise and alcohol itself can destroy a relationship and never helps a true relationship. I rather see people around me happy enjoying life to the fullest extent personally.
Last night i pooed on my family floor and left a note saying this is what i think of you all lol
i have never drank alcohol
This is why I'm an occasional drinker. I generally won't drink unless I eat and I normally have just one drink followed by water. My father, grandfather, and great grandfather were alcoholics. I don't intend to be the fourth generation alcoholic.
My family are all alcoholics and I didnât want to follow in those footsteps but no matter how much I hate the thought of becoming what I hate, I still drink too much almost everyday. Somethings gotta give.
@@tatorham9026 being aware is the first step
Break the generational curse brother!đŻ
Agreed
I never even thought I might be an alcoholic but here I am verging. Grandpa was too.
I need to stop.
I'm female and used to drink men under the table. I'm also an alcoholic. 49 days sober. One day at a time.
37 years of alcohol and drugging. 6 months sober thanks to AA. I am 48
yeah, me too itâs sad. especially bc iâm 110 lbs
11 months sober as of yesterday, it gets better! Make sure you get proper meds tho if you need them, otherwise it can get messed up
Take the edge off
I stopped drinking after I was roofied back in March. Even 1 single drink makes me feel sick and can barely finish it. It was an unintentional kick of a habit. Even though I wasnât a âheavyâ drinker, I noticed my skin is so much better and knowing I wonât wake up hungover is so relieving. Congratulations on your sobriety & I wish you the best of luck!
I always describe "overdoing it" as the best night, followed by the worst night of your life, all in one evening. For me, there's nothing worse than realizing it's a vomit night.
Did that last night in my sleep and realized... yeah, I could have died... so... I think I'm done with drinking.

Meh, after barfing, you feel fine. Sometimes that just happens after a good night
I began drinking at the age of 13, but I started drinking heavy at 15/16, and I would drink every weekend, or sometimes even every other day. At times I would binge drink with my friend's at the time, and we'd stay up until 9am sometimes until 1pm just drinking, and doing blow. Anyway I finally began to feel the effects of both in 2017 when I began to get heart palpitations. I basically began to incorporate lots of fruits, and vegetables into my diet like literally every fruit, and veggie you could think of, and I quit drinking, for a few months, and it went away. This was in July 2017 to September 2017 then I basically slowly went back to the same lifestyle, for another 8, or 9 months. I then calmed down again in July 2018 to about February 2019 because I had moved from the big city my hometown of Chicago to quiet El Paso. Anyway when I returned the same thing, for another 5 months, and then back to Texas, for 7 months, and once again when I was in Texas I only drank a few time's in a half of year period. I finally returned to Chicago, for good in July of 2020, and by April of 2021 I began to feel strange in my abdomen. I was convinced it was my liver, or pancreas, so I quit drinking immediately. I then quit the blow in May because the pain wouldn't go away. I even stopped smoking cannabis in late May because I was getting worse despite quitting the other 2 drugs of choice. By mid June it felt very hot in my abdomen, and it felt as if it was going to explode. The pain was excruciating I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Anyway I went to the hospital in June of 2021, and was diagnosed with Diverticulosis. Google says the cause is unknown, but come on it doesn't take a Rocket Scientist to know that poor diet combined with excessive drinking, and snorting was the cause of my body's deterioration. I went on a Vegan diet, and this honestly helped me, but not as fast as the Kombucha fermented Tea's. They have like positive bacteria probiotics basically, and it fixed me up real quickly the inflammation went down immediately I couldn't believe it. Anyway I tried sipping a little in September of 2021, and it would hurt a little in my lower left abdomen, so I told myself yup it's over Josh you had your fill. Gonna be like 1 year of sobriety in a few weeks. In late October it'll be one year of sobriety from blow. I still smoke cannabis since it's legal in my state of Illinois, and it's never made me feel drained, and dehydrated like the other two vices I had. The last thing I need to do now is to cut down on my consumption of meats, and junk food in general. This channel also has a video on the effects unhealthy food has on the human body, and mind, and I greatly appreciate it. Knowledge is powerful, and once it happens to you that's when you start to take it seriously. Heck I know people who have life threatening illnesses, and still continue to do what they're doing. I guess their life right? If they wanna die an agonizing death that's on them however not me uh uh I love life. I was scared straight if you do drink I guess all I can say is drink responsibly, and in moderation. I hear a few cups a day is actually beneficial to our health. Although the problem with us Human's is we lack self control, and we always want more. Anyway God Bless you all, and I hope you all stay safe, and live a long healthy life đđ»
as someone from the UK that is rookie numbers. heavy drinking but only on the weekends ? i think maybe your a light weight coz not saying itâs a good thing but at the age of 6 i had a half bottle of wine and i thrrew up just once and ever since when i drink i havent had any problems at all and considering that was half a bottle of wine at the age of 6 thatâs decent
im very proud of you keep going
@@LebronShaqthe2nd I actually had my very first sip of beer at 6 as well. My uncle gave me some red dog. At the time I had obviously never had a taste of any kind of Alcohol since I was 6, so my taste buds hadn't acquired a taste. As, for rookie numbers, or being a lightweight I don't know what you're talking about. I literally stated I would drink every other weekend, OR every other day. Perhaps you missed that part? I don't think a 24 pack of Modelo's or Corona's is lightweight along with 3 to 7 shots of whatever hard liquor we're drinking, and maybe even a few chasers. Although I didn't really like chasers as I knew the sugar would make me more dehydrated. I preferred drinking it straight in shots even though as I stated you actually get more drunk drinking chasers depends on how much Alcohol you're actually consuming. For me yea a 24 pack, 3 to 7 shots, 7 to 14 blunts, and an 8ball of yay was the norm. Also not a competition on who drinks more I'm just simply stating my own personal experience from drinking consistently from the tender age of 13 (still a boy literally developing) to the age of 27, and overall my point is that the video is true. It's actually ridiculous that we need video's to tell us what Alcohol can do to the human body, and mind. We have this video, and I tell my personal experience, and still you tell me those are rookie numbers? Lol it's like you're saying "Haha I can drink more than you" If you want go ahead it's your life I also stated that in my original comment. Your life man you're the one that's going to go through whatever illness when it finally catches up to you đ€·đ»ââïž
Smoking anything is bad for your health.
Good for you man. Keep it up. Dont know the point of the guy saying youre a rookie. I see alcoholics egg on friends that are trying to quit all the time. Its not cute and its not okay. Ive seen to many friends trying to quit get treated like that by friends so they keep going and then they die. 3 more dead in buffalo just this last week. I moved from buffalo ny to new orleans. A total party city but substances dont have the same hold on me. I think the warmth and sun and people just being better here helps. In buffalo i had to drink just to stand ppl socially. In new orleans ive been putting together a group of ppl who like to go out dancing and also want to do it sober now to. Got to help and protect each other. Its what community and being human is about. Not numbing your self with substances and bad food. Thats addiction. Alcohol causes more damage than any of them.
Ive ruined every relationship Ive ever had in my life because of alcohol. Drink in moderation people, dont be like me.
If I wrote down everything bad that's happened to me I can relate it all to alcohol
Man, same here. I was thinking about that this morning.
I was well on my way. Somehow I just stopped. Weed helped and under NO CIRCUMSTANCE should an alcoholic go cold turkey without a medical professional but I know you guys can do it!
At the same time, Iâve meet new people while drinking. Double edge sword.
Me too 100 %
Iâm five days away from 6 months of sobriety, Iâm currently on step 4 in AA and have some legal matters hanging over my head. There trying to make it out as if I was bat ish crazy when I encountered the police. I was suffering from alcohol poisoning which hasnât been mentioned at all, itâs been a tuff go with being in the service industry and not being able to work for a year on top of being denied unemployment. Deaths in the family & strained finances arenât an excuse for my actions, but what Iâm being charged is pretty ridiculous. No matter, Iâm sober and grateful that I am alive and carry the feeling of ârock bottomâ everyday to never return that state ever again.

I'm about 5 months without a drink. Almost half a year. Do I crave it? Yes. Do I think about it? Yes, been drinking Almost nightly for 20 years. I take it 1 day, sometimes 1 hour at a time.
Congratulations on being clean of alcohol for so long. May any craving you have today and in the future dissipate immediately.
I was an alcoholic mostly for about 14 years and I can tell you it the most dangerous times when you black out and do not remember anything at all the night before trust me that dangerous for real.... I been sober recovering alcoholic for over 3 years now and still going strong so yea.... Have more faith in your self and stay on the right path and you will be fine YAY.... be safe everyone đ....
The thing about alcohol is that its literary everywhere you go as a adult family functions, restaurants etc it's just socially accepted, so i have to have self control cuz i know when i start drinking i wont stop... 2 weeks sober and hoping for many more đ
I'm a sober alcoholic. Been sober for quite some time. It created so many problems for me. Living black out to black out..waking up in hospital detoxing. The whole addiction thing is extremely time consuming, complete money rinser and more importantly, it's completely soul destroying, I had to drink in order to delay the DTs, shaking, sweating, vomiting.
The hallucinations are very real at the time and terrifying. Drink will often tell me it will solve a problem/dilemma. Or give me the comfort blanket that it did in my early years of drinking. My message to anyone out there in a relapse and want to stop, is to get to a hospital. Withdrawing from alcohol without the right detox/drugs, can (and is) be fatal. Day by Day....hour by hour.

Been a heavy drinker for a few years. It takes a LOT longer than 1 drink for me to even start feeling anything.
I quit drinking around late 2021 to early 2022 and this video makes me glad I did. Reminds me of the effects and health risks and thatâs my motivation
the problem is that when you started drinking, probably it was with the wrong people, that motivated you to often ignore the warning mention 4min in the video...
for me that is a signal to take a few cokes or waters so i don't get into the drunk stage...
only been drunk in the pas 20 years, i think i can just about count those times on one hand, and almost all were as 20isch student , when you tend to test your limits.
once you have tested your limits, just listen to those warning signs,
but i fear you were badly guided into alcohol and are to preprogrammed now to ignore those warning so good you probably barely notice them.. so probably safer to stay off alcohol...
@@JeroenJA yes badly guided. I believe that is a major issue. A lot of our parents donât really teach us about alcohol. To think about it, alcohol is in almost every household. If not, itâs affiliated with a family gathering, party or just family member that drinks or friend occasion.

I was just a casual drinker, i normally only drink on special occasions, like someone's birthday, Christmas, New year and etc.
Once i drank way too much alcohol i blacked out in 1 hour, can't remember anything, never did that again, now i'm a casual moderate drinker, only drink on special occasions and in moderate amounts, it's amazing, i become more extroverted without compromising any memory and/or vomiting/passing out.
yesterday was my 2 year sober bday from alcohol. Im so happy I gave it up, its terrifying what I was doing to my body
im glad i quit drinking when i was 19, where im from you could buy a beer at 14 and everything else at 16, i used to go to school and before school id go to a friends house who lived like 2 min away from the school walking and drink shots of vodka or whiskey, we would do the same during lunch hour and after dinner we would go out to the bars up until 3 am and repeat the following day, this went on for around 3 years, and i just had to say no more because i saw the hole i was digging for myself, now as a 24 year old people my age tend to make fun of the fact that i dont drink , that i dont go to clubs, what they dont understand is that i know myself and that life to me is really addictive, so i choose to stay away from those environments
May I ask, where are you From?
My stomach just violently expels the alcohol out my system, when I drink too much. I get the hangover, while intoxicated. Walking in a straight line is impossible. I can also start drooling. Within a couple hours, my symptoms just vanish instantly. My memory is not inhibited by alcohol at all, and I remember every detail of it. Thatâs why I know longer drink.
I lost my mom due to alcoholism..rip mom
1 month sober. I feel healthier mind clearer, relationships better.
If ya drink too much and are trying to quit, ask your doctor about Naltrexone. I used to drink heavily. Now I hardly do. It takes the temptation feeling and cravings and minimizes them TREMENDOUSLY! It also takes away the effects of the alcohol. I canât even get a buzz when I drink now.
So it taps down the cravings and the effects.
Try it. Ya wonât regret it!
Peace to you all.
I'm a heavy drinker, have been for about ten years now. Still as functional as ever, so it doesn't affect my work/life balance. I have to say that this video is completely different from what I've experienced since the beginning.
Anyway, on yo your comment... Absolutely would not recommend naltrexone to anyone. You're right, it nullified any affects from drinking and made me not want to do it... But it also made me not want to eat or even drink water, and when I did, I was constantly vomiting. Glad it helped you though, I just wanted to share my experience and let everyone know that there are plenty of options out there.
And I think I choose to live fast and die faster.

I don't really get drunk? I just get a short buzz for 45 minutes and then I'm good later no matter the excess or type
Could be so. Also if you have a healthy diet....however the liver will still take beating. There are many ways to heal the liver though đ
I get over my buzz really quickly too, and it is really annoying...and expensive. đ
I can get drunk, but it takes A LOT to get me drunk. As I get older (I'm 45, female), I'm just not willing to do that to my body anymore. I enjoy a drink or two at brunch, or will buy a bottle of wine occasionally, but I that's about it.

Hard thing is an addict yes an alcoholic is still adn addict well they will only quit when theyâre ready and wanting to quit and ussually that only happens when they get in big trouble , hitt rock bottom o lose a loved one who was an addict as well
Wow is sad.. im that guy
I honestly watched this video while drinking 200mls of vodka. But I was able to learn a lot of things that I never knew. Thank you.đŻâđ»đ€
Well, it's time for me to stop drinking. đ€ I wanna eat better and exercise more. I wanna thank my liver for keeping me alive until now. đŻâđ»đ€
Need to see a video like this but on smoking cannabis! That would be awesome
I often describe myself as a functional alcoholic. This video popping up randomly on my feed really scarred me, I guess itâs time for sobriety. Any tips?
Just quit and never look back.
One day at a time, it will be hard at first. It will get easier as time will go on. There will always be that desire but you will desire less and less to drink as time goes on being sober. Prayers for you, you got this!
@@runplatypus it's hard man...
Try to ween off, cut out liquor and wine, just have beer, then cut back amount of beer and so on
Hour by hour
I use to be a heavy drinker for 5 years. It got so bad to the point where I would finish a 1.75 bottle of vodka in only 2 days. I gave up liquor and switched to light beers such as michalob ultras and miller light. I know Iâm still drinking BUT this right here is a night and day difference! My body feels SOO much better due to the reduced alcohol Iâm taking in and Iâm also well hydrated
Try calculate number of units of alcohol.
I'm a bad alcoholic. Trying to beat it. Got a mental illness in early 2022. Sad for my family check to see if I'm still alive.
I switched to only beer about ten years ago. I don't drink every day, but I could if I wished because the hangover is barely there. One coffee, and I'm fine. Maybe it's a tolerance thing, but I pretty much have the same amount and don't ever feel the need for more before bed. Even when events or whatever are happening and it's 5 or 6 days a week, no problem and no need to escalate the amount of beer.
@@thinkingmanstudios4129 same here! The hangover is barely there if itâs even there at all. I did try a pint of vodka a couple days ago, and remembered why I stopped messing with it in the first place. That thing is WAYY too concentrated and potent to me lol. At least with the light beers, Iâm still able function after 2 of them. My only problem is that my wife still believe I have a drinking problem, even though I donât drink crazy anymore. Itâs like I finally won with myself but I can never win with other people lol
Tried to switch to beer but itâs too bubbly and then I feel too full and canât eat.
@@thinkingmanstudios4129ur addicted to coffee?
I used to be and addict but after nearly die from cirrhosis I finally stop. It was a good run but it was killing me physically and emotionally. But now I have no energy no will to live. I used to work while being abit drunk and I work hard as a mule. now I just want to stay home and hope my end come soon. I used to have tons of friends going out hanging with people but now I'm an introvert and can't handle social life. It's been 2 years since my last drink and I still can't really get a real job. It was part of me but it was bad for me.
Wtf is a mule ma brodda
This taught how to be a more efficient alcoholic đ
Lately every time i drink, i get in trouble so im done drinking đ€Ł
Had to quit drinking a month ago, too many years of aspirin have messed up my liver and alcohol makes things worse, NEVER felt better!
I was never a drinker until my sister, mother and grandmother died a couple months ago. Im trying to stop but I guess I'm at the point of withdrawal since I get sick without it. I've never dealt with this...
can you do this same thing but for smoking? not sure if you have made a video like that and if so, can you link me there?
would be very interesting to know what would happen (accurately), the thing i hate the most myself... smoking (cigarettes)
in most areas, within the smoker, the actions done by them and people around them as well, like this video
I would also like to see that . Mostly to shove sobriety down peeps throats lol
i typically dont have problems handling my alcohol withdrawals but if i have alcohol poisoning and i try to sober up those alcohol withdrawals actually slap you a pretty decent one. ive been up for 45 hours without stimulants and finally decided to down a few shots of vodka to go to sleep. this is a pretty dangerous drug people.
When I drink with friends at the bar I stop after 3 drinks and switch to red bull but have it poured in a drink glass. No one knows I do it and I'm usually sober by the end of the night.
thanks
Two and I'm through. I'm a very light/social drinker.
