3) Always use the karma system to report good players for Unsportsmanlike Conduct.

Meanwhile, in every other game in a GK, get spotted at max range, get three fires from the first salvo of thunderer HE, die before getting a shot off or a chance to position. Can't wait to see what subs mean for GK players.
You can't beat learning about Pipes , Valves and flanges

The other thing that can be undervalued is if you're paying attention to where enemies have positioned and which flank they're pushing, you can help teammates who maybe aren't so aware avoid throwing their ship away or help initiate a push against a weak flank. It's amazing how often this little thing can turn a game.
I really like your videos where you try to help players improve. Whenever I watch your videos my play always seems to improve slightly, even after 3 years of playing. In fact, your tutorial on Japanese cruisers has transformed the line for me; I was very 'meh' the first time, but currently regrinding and loving them all.
45 seconds into the match: "I'm surrounded by potatoes"
**5s later**
"KEEP FIRING, POTATOES!!"
I can tell this is a super-unicum veteran just by the way he does things... Without looking up his stats, I would guess that his recent win rate is about 65-70%?
The biggest sign is that he pretty much nails the perfect balance between angling and shooting, meanwhile keeping track of all of his enemy's positions, and waste zero time using his consumables. He was contempt with trading HP in that kiting position with no fire support from teammates for pretty much the entire match, which shows great understanding of his ships's strengths and weaknesses. Taking a look at details, that decision to turn his turrets at around 8:04 was just alpha - it pretty much had the perfect timing. Overall his play just feels so smooth to watch.
And at the end after he got sunk, look at what he does. Compliments and reports but puts nothing in chat. It was just so characteristic of a good veteran player. As an old Chinese saying goes "a full bottle makes no noises; a half-full bottle sloshes around". So many average players would be showing off their "amazing 200K damage" at this point, yet he says nothing. This is the kind of player I would want to meet IRL and have a drink together.
Irl? I'd like to play with him in a match or two! Too often I have to play the unicum on the team...and I am not unicum!
To add to iChase's remark about counting ships: In the official mod-station there are mods for the player side panels. Some of those have indicators which ships already got spotted and which ship currently is spotted. With such a mod you don't need to count anymore.
This is a must have i used this mod because u know the dmg too and can plan ur attack better

Note: i have a kurfurst, its my only tier x, but im really bad at playing it. I havent spent a single penny on the game, im just bad at it but commited at getting the high tier ships

In PlayStation WOW when close to an enemy ship I see “invincible”. How to use this ?

Well, I want to say a few things that it really depends on everything in WoWs like what ship you have and most importantly how are your teammates doing! I can give my example I'm grinding for Bismarck and I'm a 1-month-old player the thing is I'm getting overmatched with high-tier ships such as T8 AND T9 and you can't really go out against them without support. I always try to play as a team player but everyone rest is just doing XP farm that's all. I will really appreciate it if you make a video on how low-tier ships can play against high-tier ships. ~Thanks!
Everyone gets uptiered sometimes. It's part of the game. The more you play the more you will learn how to handle such situations and be a contributing member of your team, regardless of ship or tier. In this video, even if you are in a T8 BB, you could play it the exact same way to be most effective. You may not have the secondaries or longevity but the advice Chase gives applies pretty well no matter the BB and will only change slightly depending on the exact ship.
There is a chance that, playing only for 1 month, your ability to read the battle is not there to play high tier battles. What looks to you like XP farming might as well be positional play, waiting for an opening in the enemies defense. In high tier, losing patience often gets you killed.
Tried to be play it like this as a BB player to hold as defense side, but most of the time it never works out.
Once the front DD spotted the other team have more ships on this side, the DD/Cruiser teammate don't even fight and just turn around + speed boost run away trying to join the stupid lemming train on the other side of the map (!)
They don't even bother to fight or kite ...and in the game they blame the BB as noob not pushing cause the team lost the game....
When I play the GK I usually do what aloop does. But it is frustrating when no one is spotting enemy DD's and there's a Smolensk and a Thunderer making your life a living hell. I find Pommern does the job better. Plus many of the maps dont have the island cover like this one to play GK effectively.
U need aiming modification then u wait for the turn and with this precison u can dev strike this HE spammers without this upgrade u cant hit then really hard it is to inacurate after this u can easy pick the fights without HE spammers u are unstoppable
So I have a bit of a request in case you see this comment Chase: would it be possible to make a video like this, but on the subject of trying to carry a team? Or bring a game back from the brink? The past couple days I’ve been playing Petro trying to help a friend, and I do rather well damage wise, and kill wise, but we still end up losing a decent chunk of the games (I believe I currently have about a 40% ish WR in Petro, and I just really started playing it this week, but I’ve had it for a while and understand the line’s playstyle) If you have any tips on how to bring a game back from a loss I’d be really curious on how to improve my “my team is outnumbered but we still have a chance” gameplay, if that makes any sense. As I had plenty of matches the other day where I feel I could’ve won, even if it was like a 3v1 or 4v1 on a flank, but I’m just not sure how to conduct myself in these scenarios.

I feel you man. Last night in an NC...three straight games over 120k, multiple kills, 2.5 million potential...three straight losses. Its like the rest of the team didn't notice that I was standing firm to hold the line and they needed to push. Tier 8 and 10 matches. Frustrating.
That was a game where Luke in the GK carried it. If he'd been on the enemy team, that team would have won.
There was really good shooting there. Plus positioning and angling and juking. Plus playing his role well.
Those are the basics of carrying.
The remaining main thing is knowing what to do in the end game to close games out. That's something that would take dozens, maybe hundreds of videos to cover, because of all the different situations you can be in.
And then there's things like playing in ships that suit you...
@@lint8391 the basis of the question is more to do with the latter half of the match. The best way I can put it is to simply say that I'd like to know how to better conduct yourself if your team is on say 1-3 ships including yourself, and the enemy is still on 5-7 ships, with the enemy holding a cap advantage. A scenario like that is where I tend to fail at bringing about a win. And I'm well aware that you won't be able to win every match like that, and the odds are clearly stacked against you, but I've seen plenty of better players than I pull it off, and I'm simply curious about tips concerning doing so. A video covering how you should be thinking, and how you can force the odds to better favor you, and the general things you can do to just not get swarmed by the enemy in a case like that is what I was requesting there.
Hi..i know that your question aimed to ichase..but let me share my opinion without patronizing you..i am not unicum player but i have 10.000 game played with 55% win rate..for petro i have around 60% win rate..but i still prefer stalingard(66% wr) then petro..in my experience in random battle if you play solo unfortunately there is no exact way or strategies to win the game..no matter how good you are or how many damage you made or how many kills you got if the rest of player in your team cant keep up with you and keep trying to throw the game you will still end up losing..Its hard to make a plan and strategize in random battle..most of the time they will ignore what you said..Different case if your play in clan battle because in clan battle your team can make coordination in what move that need to do and what target to achieve..also if you play in division in random battle it will increase your chance to carry the game..regarding your question about being outnumbered and still want to carry my tips is try to put your ship in position where you can engage the enemy one each time or if you in superior ship with good caliber guns try force the multiple enemy to engage you in straight line..this strategies can work if you have island around you..but in open water to deal with multiple enemy is hard..unless rng really favor at you and give you citadel in every salvo..
Petropavlosk is very good ship with good gun,good concealment, long ship but with thin build and not much superstructure, and strong armor too..use those advantage to play aggresive and kill enemy dd..dont afraid to lose a bit of your hp if you can kill enemy dd..eliminate enemy dd make your team have better control in map..another tips try to read enemy move,count how many are they then if possible you make unexpected move to surprise them..

And as for ship choice and battle type, I did mean random battles, but I do try to division as much as I can. However I haven’t had a chance to play Clan Battles at all really, I’m in a rather small clan with only a few active members, but it’s a friend’s clan so I don’t exactly want to leave. So I do imagine I’d perform better in the likes of Stalingrad as I’m rather good in the battlecruiser type ships, but I’m not good enough at ranked to have earned enough steel, nor do I have a clan to do CBs with unless we can magically find a bunch of active players. Haven’t had any luck with recruiting so far.
Anyways, thanks again for the input, I appreciate any tips in this regard. I’d like to improve as much as I can before the ranked rework comes into effect. :D

Everytime I get a positioning like that the strong flank of my team goes "oh nice, let's get some fish behind these lovely islands and not move anywhere..."
the push in this video is actually seen only half the time in random games, because in this video everything falls nicely. there will always be exceptions that happen the other half of your time in the game

I struggle to defend a flank whenever I'm a Baltimore, I did use proper island usage, but I just get bombarded first from other ships, suggestions upon my actions?
don't get spotted, always be shooting, use your radar to get information to properly position/catch dds
I really like the game and I dont even give a damn about my personal win rate but care about the team win. I find so many players play so conservatively they do nothing until the game is over half over. Thats what drives me nuts.
i sorta do that when i play bb.It will work until they fire HE then you just kinda wither away pretty fast... well thats my experience kiting like that. PS: im probably a below avg player
Depends how many and what ships you're kiting against. If you are alone against six, you still kite but you run more than kite...if that makes sense
The most important and sole thing to do to be good in wows is to buy a Thunderer and spec it for Deadeye. That's it you are super unicum.
Hi Chase, we met in 2015 during the first ever TwitchCon in SF @ WGs after party. Can you please play the Iwaki Alpha and post about it. I recently played mine and I think they nerfed the hell out of it. I used to be able to stealth torp but not my detection is further than the range. Can you play it once to show us 200 players who have it how it show work?

iChase is doing a study in naval architecture... wait till he hits Froude numbers, and the parts where you have 10 different formula's with different answers to handle laminar-turbulent transition behavior and have to factor in if it is Tuesday or not, to pick the answer you want to set put your fait in. The part when asked the proper engineering solution up front can only summarized by "eeeeeeeehhh, it depends".
I will be Spending Halloween giving out candies to good kids, and playing WOT in between!!
Chase what I learned, broadside AP angeld means HE. And switch in between targets don't stay too long on one target...

DD main here, my early game is fine ... appropriate level of aggression to contest caps depending on circumstance. Late game, also fine. However, I seem to end up wasting the middle part of the match milling around aimlessly, acheiving nothing and I don't know what's causing this. Your thoughts?
I am not a dd main but I know midgame what dds do that drive me nuts is perma spot me. They aren't attacking, just letting their buddies know where I am and service their targets. It is passive, but useful
@@Matthew10950 Thanks for the reply, maybe I was doing more than I thought. In the Halland my average spotting damage is 50k, no idea if that's good or bad though. Having watched a bunch of my own replays I'm starting to think it's my initial moves putting me out of position for the middle bit.
@@jiks270 i had the same problem with cruisers in the opening minutes. I'd get too close, too fast and be shot at by half the red team. I had to make myself go no faster than half speed at the beginning of the match for a week, and everything got better right away. Now in chat I suggest the same to people rushing forward and they call me asshole. Lol

You need get the client: Modstation on the official site.

Then install the mod: Replay enable (rightmost tab). Theres loads more usefull mods there, theyre easy to install or uninstall. The mods in there are sanctioned/legal by WG.

I play casually. I noticed that every game is nothing but bots. But I just bought my first V ship, and now the matches are full of players. Except now I just get BTFO very quickly. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

sure to look if you are on the hold side and act like that is important, but you forgot to say and pray that your team is not fucking it up and pushes themself. i dont know how often i defend half the game more then half the enemy team, and my push side is holding back or runns away
Every time Im hopping into GK these days I just get grilled to death
The thing is, that there is a great chance that on the other side of the enemy team there will be another good player that will single handedly stall up to 6-7 allies and sink half of them :))
Identify them and ask your team to hit them. Explain it: guys, that gk is killing us, watch out for that desmoines, etc. Sometimes it even works. Many players who seem to be potato can contribute if you do just a little thinking for them. Sometimes.

secondary target priority
Shift+click on a ship focuses the secondary battery on that ship. That's what that marker is

yeah....that was cute. Now, show us how to stay somewhat competitive when down tier with a low skill commander and stock ship, I want to see that video. Not, yet another, tier X where everything is equal and most of the combatants have the same skill level and commander level.
You seem to have missed the point of the video. In this situation, with ANY BB, this is how you play it. Regardless of tier or status of ship.

Problem is all cruser players want to do is hide behind islands, and smoke, and HE spam battleships, instead of getting in the cap, and killing destroyers, and giving your team's destroyers, and battleships some cover fire, and backup. which is the primary job of cruiser players. How can you expect a BB player to push, and tank, or a DD player to cap if you're going to be pussies, and not help.
If you cruiser players want your BB, and DD players to grow a pair, and push, and cap, you have to push, and cap with them, and not expect the BB, and DD players to do all the sacrificing, and dying, so you can safely hide behind islands, and smoke, and being useless as fuck.
HE spamming cruisers need to be nerfed all over, so BB, and DD players can have more fun.
Not sure exactly what situation you have in your mind but im a cruiser main. When I push a cap too early and the dd goes dark , I die in seconds. I need a bb right up with me. But im faster than the bb. So im ganging back waiting for the bb to move forward and the bb is hanging back waiting for me to move forward...communication man. Communicate early and often.
It never works out well if your teammate ignore you and just run away the time they get spotted......
I stopped playing this game since the player base, the matchmaking and the greedy ass stragey, that WG is pursuing are just utter garbage. The state of the game is awful and it got significantly worse over the past 12 months. All this together killed off my interest i once had in this game. It is so sad that WG is the developing company, otherwise this game would have a chance to survive the next 5 years.

I wrote exactly what I wanted to write. I also gave reasons why I see it that way. You can agree with me or have a different opinion. It is totally okay.
But I think it is pathetic to try to put words into other people's mouths (that the person never had), just because you disagree. Im sorry (actually..sorry - not sorry), but that is just lame.
To be brutally honest, i couldnt care any less what other people do with their own free time. I just dont care.
