That’s not true. I’m from Harlem and I remember when Tommy Hill got poppin. He use to give out clothes in the hood because he saw it as the perfect free promotion while the rapper get designer clothes. That’s the reason you saw groups like Brand Nubians (who said white people as devils)wearing Tommy Hilfiger. Then Wu Tang was also known for rockin Tommy Hill and by the Tommy Hill clothing had popped off. That is the actual truth and if you look up interviews of Grand Puba who formed Brand Nubian about how he started wearing Tommy gear. I know it’s on CZcams. None of us in New York or New Jersey believed that lie cuz we knew better. And if you really wanna get funky it was always rumored that the people behind Calvin Klein were the ones who started that rumor.
