As a long time big Drake fan and just a casual Kendrick fan, I must admit that Kendrick crushed it. This is hands down the toughest position Drake has ever been in his career.

I think we can expect an episode for "What Really Happened Pt. 1" because this beef is far from over and is expected to reignite after Kendrick's next album in June if the rumors are true.

Hey battle rap is not just clever jokes I've seen lots where if your opponent knows something about you they will use it and they punch heavy sometimes to win .. even Eminem showed it with Papa Doc thing completely embarrassed him with gossip that he heard about him which they do in real life battles all the time

When it comes to a random subject like rats and cribs and bloods it doesn't matter "it doesn't involve us or we're not from that " but Rick Ross being a correction officer all of a sudden wee are criminals and he shouldn't be a rapper???
I got no issues with the guy being a correctional officer if he didn't lie about it. I've said that about 100 times on my end. If he admitted to it off the jump I'd respect it but to lie and then portray your life of a real drug dealer it's corny.
Great video and coverage as always. Absolutely agree that STANs of either makes this whole situation far worse than it really isn't, like IMO just in terms of rap battle I had Drake slightly ahead of Kendrick on that Family Matters diss track as he had more punchlines, bars and is so layered with that 50 drop and splits scheme. Yet the narrative spins, controls and manipulation tactics Kendrick pulls from those 4 other diss tracks, how he masterfully painted Drake in a certain way, makes discourse about this so emotionally charged to the point it's ridiculous and we can't even talk about it honestly from a rap battle perspective. We're talking about a rap battle here, in which yes IMO Drake's losing the war portion here, but technically he's not losing in a rap battle either.. Also important to note that the track of 'Not Like Us' has a great club banger music beat which made this easily spread faster and influence faster the listener's minds, like those musical subliminal effects, and from just being such a club banger most will automatically side with Kendrick regardless of the message.
I also agree about social media ruining rap battle, although IMO I think it's just the evolving course of rap music and drama. Just say 40 years ago, or even 20 if this rap beef and battle took place, with no internet and social media, only the Record labels and radios and whoever controls and get's their tracks to the most radio stations wins the public opinion battle here. After the internet and social media sites artists can now very quickly make songs and make posts, promote and market themselves, tell their own narratives in almost real time and daily, unlike past forms of ithe information ecology back then.
Furthermore it's so frustrating when I hear most Emcees siding with Kendrick over Drake, virtue signaling his victory. Like it's too early to celebrate! I absolutely agree that while social media has done some good things for people online, for gossip and rumor spreading and stirring up drama and public opinion it's crazy negative.

It was obvious that Kendrick is competitive enough to out rap someone like Drake even tho Drake was decent ... in my unbiased opinion Drake had a great plan to troll Kendrick ... cause Kendrick wouldn't go for the daughter thing if someone didn't lie to him that he has proof and it's true ... thing is Kendricks team did great by stepping all over "Family Matters" and then just bully Drake into a ped0 .. and that got to Drake cause there is video proof etc. but I give Drake props cause he had a great plan debunking Kendrick with the heart 6 but he just didn't do it properly and fast enough... and still i think he made a fool out of Kendrick ain't gonna lie ... Kendrick spit a lot of untrue bs lol cause there is no proof ...
