AngelaMinjiKim I think it's a good idea to make videos of Korean food/snacks you never tasted before or weird version of a dish.
I have a playlist for that :) czcams.com/play/PLFQ9YQw8-531FBIxtme-EbJ4sJHER45Hx.html

영양 is nutrition in English so it is nutritious, you are eating a healthy snack! woo that's what it means in case you are wondering :)
Ah, thank you! :)
This is great! Totally unique and different :). I'm extremely curious now and want to try it. Although I am a little scared too 😳 lol!!
Your family is so funny and cute! Happy Holidays! ^_^

Thanks for joining! Hope you had a great Christmas! :)
Grandpa made me laugh! After years shopping at our local Korean market I only found the worms today. Might try them some day.
Don't drink the liquid. lol.
omg this is hilarious! Thanks for tasting these so that I don't have to!
Merry Christmas, I got it for Christmas too, to share with family.
I love your grandpa he pushes it away like .. i didn't get this old by accident
your dad made them look good to eat lol
He's my uncle. But yeah, he's very convincing! Lol
Your family is great! I bought some of these today from Hmart.
I'm glad you made this video! I just got some from the store and was wondering what the best way to eat it was. It sounds like it probably needs to be cooked til crispy from street vendors to get the best flavor haha
haha your grandfather is the highlight of this video! :D
Hahaha, yes..yes he is! :D
I just bought it and I might try it soon
first thing I tried when i moved there for a year
i really like bundegi! when i tried it for the first time i thought it was delicious but i didnt know that it was a bug. but i found out a couple years later and stopped eating it, but i started eating again lolll
OMG I could never eat these :O
You and your cousin look so cute with the same sweater ^^
lol it's become tradition to wear those sweaters :)
데우고 드시면 맛있어요. I buy it from the convenience store, put it in a mug, pop it in the microwave and eat it as a snack while watching Netflix 😊
Just bought some today gonna give it a try lol
Love ur grandma and grandpa!
:D
This video made me crave bbeondaegi so badly! Lol! Tastes better if you heat it up! Savory and meaty goodness!!! When I was little, I used to love chewing it and sucking out the salty savory juice!!! Lol
We did heat it up in the pan with a little oil and sugar... but it tasted the same to me. I don't know why but the juices tasted like chemicals..maybe it's the brand I got?
The street cooked ones are actually good, they sell it along with the little shell that has like snails in it 소라 I was so young I don't remember well but yeah Haha
Sos tan divertida que te ame , me encantan tus dientes jjajaj from Argentina .
I remember when I first came to korea I was out with my mom and her friends and co workers, We were eating and she told me to try it And I didnt really look at what it was and she just told me to try it and as soon as I checked once I literally threw up into a napkin 😂🕷😝
번데기 엄~~청 맛있고
몸에도 좋은데~~~!!!
100% protein!!!
I saw this at H-Mart today, posted a photo of it on a facebook group, and a lot of people said it tastes like dirt and is salty. At least grandpa tried it. Haha.
hahahaaha grand pa n grandma even refused to eat those worms hahahahahaha!!!!! :)
I love U Grandma :D "I wont eat it even if you gave me money" :D
How hungry does someone have to be before they go, "Yeah, let's try to eat those"?
Pretty hungry.. and curious. Lol. But the fried crispy ones supposedly taste better. The other bugs I tried in my taste testing video last month were roasted and texture wise it's definitely better. :)
AngelaMinjiKim 😲
Apparently beondegi didn't become popular until the Korean War, when that's about the only protein available. So, yeah...starvation food, basically.
Daniel Lunsford dummy, it’s the byproduct from silk making industry. Stop making white appears to be ignorant.
Here in Cambodia I'm sure we have those...I visited the silk worm farm. They look tasty 😋😝😋
"It tastes like a dead bug"
Cause its a DEAD BUG
LMAO HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
ohhhhh snap sounds like they talking bout kicking you out lol " thanks for the sand treat "
Lol they still haven't opened the door since
you have such a cute family.
:)
Your family is so cute!! Merry Christmas 😊
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! :)
It is yummy... You shouldn't judge a book by its cover. I don't know why some people make fun of it.
We're going to do this with my Aunties
I agree that fried looks more appetising
That ahjushi with the toothpick lol gangstaaaaa
I would like to try it...😍👍👍
Try it~ lol
😎
Silk worms are my fav
lol love these episodes when you try insects haha....
Lol not sure if I'll do more ..unless I come across some that I'm willing to try again
it's delicious!!!
No it's traditionally boiled in a sugar and soy sauce syrup.
your grandparents are the cutest!!!!😊😊
:D
i like ur teeth
you can boil it again with some hot pepper :) it will be better! also with classic soju...👍
I'm not sure I'll buy another can of that lol
+AngelaMinjiKim lol just eat other good food haha
I absolutely love those bugs!
How do you like to eat it?
AngelaMinjiKim right out of the can;)
Oh god!!!!
Mmm I don't know...:)
It means a delicious nutricious snack
Common I can eat raw if they moving around my mouth cause those are silkworm they won't bite your tongue infact I love eating those contain lots of protein
Hey!! Where are you from?? I.m from South Korea!!
I love your Grandfather!
Though it is a bug not good to see and even a little disgusting, it is the cleanest bug which is eaten only fresh leaves of the mulberry tree. so at first, when you get used to seeing its shape, and to try it without any prejudice, it is very delicious.
what does it taste like
@@spicymeatballs2thespicening Most people say that the taste of Silk worm is savory and light. And Its broth is slightly salty due to the salt added, it cleans the walls of blood vessels, removes cholesterol, and is said to be good for diabetes.
아!!! 맛있겠다!!
와 맛있겠다 ㄷㄷ ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
It tastes like a dead bug 🐛 IT TASTES LIKE DIRT!!! 😄
I’m Korean and the first time I tried it.. I spit it out too lol
영양 means nutritions
Are you American? When did you move to Korea?
It is delicious ♡♡♡
But...many korean people hate 번데기
You are a brave woman!... Lol
Lol this is funny! xD

번데기 맛있는데 ㅋ
난 한번에 5~6개씩 씹어 먹음
Your video makes me think about my family in Korea :,(
Aw, but I hope you had a great Christmas! Do they know how to video chat? My family is slowing learning how lol
AngelaMinjiKim Well, we talk alot through Kakao talk app but it is not the same as being in the same room. I think this season makes it worse. It makes me think about my family more often. My family in laws are in VA, my family is in Korea and we live in WA. I was just being jealous of you spending this time of year with your family. I am sorry I wasn't trying to be mean or anything.
Oh no, I didn't take your comment as being mean at all!
AngelaMinjiKim Good good. I hope you had a wondrtful new year's eve. Happy new year!
생긴건그런데 먹어 보면 즁말 맛있어요
빛네츠루 전 한국에 살아도 싫어함...
ㄴㄴ 개노맛
😂😂😂😂👍
My family fries it and eat it like chips
I live in Korea. I tried eating once. I can handle it if I am drunk off of soju. Otherwise, no way!
maybe you have to fry it to make it crispy!
That's what we were trying to do, but I don't think we dried it enough since there's liquid inside the silkworm. Lol
Reminds me of the black beetle shabu shabu in China I almost ate! Ugh!
When Your grandma wouldn't do it for money 💰😂😂 maybe I will 🤔🤔🤣
Lol
So. My dear sister "gifted" me with a can of these - exact same can shown in the video. Why? Because apparently she's trying to poison me. Joke's on her, though - she's out of the will after that stunt.
But, our whole family consist of foodies, so I'm going to try them. Not straight out of the can - one whiff and I knew that was a terrible idea. I mean, they smell like exactly what they are -dead bugs. The metallic smell and taste isn't from the canning , *that's how dead bugs smell and taste*.
But I found a recipe to (supposedly) make these more palatable, linked below, and thought, "Soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, chili paste. Yeah, that should make anything taste good, it's basically bulgogi marinade"
NOPE.
I followed the recipe to the letter, and the verdict is: nothing you can do can mask that dead bug smell/taste. I tried them tossed with sea salt. And more soy sauce. And more sesame oil. And both Thai chili sauce and good ol' Cholula. Some were better than others, but nothing makes these edible.
Sorry, Korea, but this is starvation food, plain and simple. You can keep it!
The recipe:
500sandwiches.com/post/65327257726/crunchy-silkworm-pupae
Supposed to cook it!
Legit eating them right now
Its nice imo tip out the water your rookie
omg.....
영양 = Nutrition
Who’s here because of Hyuka (HUENINGKAI)? LOL
i hate 번데기 so much that when i visited korea, i could smell it from a mile away and i would run away 😂
lol some people (like my uncle) really like it and others (the rest of my family) are like NOPE! 😂
I used to eat this when I was a little kid in Korea but the last few times I went I didn't want to eat it LOL. I think it's after I figured out what it was that I stopped going to eat it. I will not buy it. I will not touch it
Are you Korean
It's canned that is why it's salty.
Mind over Matter. Perhaps by not perceiving such as Bugs, yet simply as a somewhat delicious source of nourishment even right out of the can. However the excessive soy salt liquid that keeps these morsels fresh, is preferably drained in preparing very appetizing meals. Extra ordinarily high in Protein & Calcium, with almost no Fat content.
I think you eat one at a time not a spoon full. 😂
If I was starving, I would eat grass or tree bark first. Sorry but it's a NO from me lol
Why did I watch this that looks so gross haha 😂
Lol
Hey,, like you so much,, you are cute!!
☺️
That's not how we eat it..tbh that looks so gross even though I am an Asian and we eat that ..but that's not how we eat it..we prepare it well with spicy ingredients and also we can fry it too
PUPA
tastes a bit like shoe polish! lol
