When I was in Korea in 73 74 I was just of the DMZ living in an uninsulated Quonset hut seeing my breath every morning in the winter no latrine in the barracks peeing outside in the middle of the night. Thought I had it good because I wasn’t ducking bullets in Vietnam. My hats off to the Vietnam vets thanks for your service.
Yep same here.
I was there at Camp Casey 73-74 as well. HHC 1/72nd Armor. Can't believe the changes since then. Astonishing.
Your post brings back memories... Lived in an uninsulated Quonset hut too with our latrine in the next building. Worked JAG and was alternately attached to 1/72 Armor, 2/72 Armor, 5/20th infantry and Headquarters and headquarters company (HHC). 2 ID HQ was across the street from the helipad and main JAG office. Looks like a Holiday Day Inn now. PFCs living better than SFCs now.
I remember being at Casey in the mid 80’s when they still had some Quonset huts and a few of the newer Barracks wow
Dope vid. I was at Casey in 1990, (D co 5/20 INF) and it was cool to see the place again. Thanks for posting.
Ayeeee 2ID!!! I was there back in 2018 and there was 3 to a room but one person had their own personal room. I was so glad when I got the chance to get the room next lol 😆
That's my old barracks on top of the hill. It was wild seeing the taxi cabs driving up that hill during the winter. 2012-14
You living great. I was there in 1976, we slept inside those metal quonset huts. You living in Beverly Hills.
There should be a latch on your closet doors to keep the left ones from opening. That's the only way the lock will work.
When I was there my barracks were across from the swimming pool and I was lucky not to have a roommate also. The PX, main gate, and everything was so close.
Wow they got it made now, up on Casey 39er, we froze an a stayed in a bunker, with an old mogas stove for heat and we had all of our chow an such delivered by helos as the road was impassable due to snow! But I would not exchange those times, we had a blast!
I left in 2004, this video brings back so many memories!
I was here 4 years ago. It’s a nice small cool base. It not as huge as Humphrey’s but it’s still stuff to do.
Going to Korea this November! Kinda excited
I went here for school, it was amazing and I 100% request going!
Thank God for progress because we I was stationed over there in 89-90, the rooms looked nothing like that!! No bathrooms in the rooms or kitchenettes!! Had a microwave in the dayroom and that was it... couldn't have microwaves in our rooms...
Are there still Mess Halls on Army Bases? Are the free to eat there or is it all Pay for what you order? So much has changed since I was in 50 yrs ago, I was at Casey 73-74
@Wayne Baird unsure!! I think they would still have mess halls but you never know...
Damn I use to live in that same barracks and same floor last year… crazy.
Ahhhhh i miss that happy energy ♥️🥰
These rooms are absolute luxury from the barracks we lived in. On the inside of our lockers was a diagram of our lockers and drawer layout, no variations allowed. Times have changed.
I was there in 09 and we didn't even have these luxuries lol.
@@trey1215 I was at Camp Casey in 1973. I never imagined it has changed do much over the years. Wow. And the Vil too. lol
Camp Hovey Imjin Scout ‘87 and ‘92. Nice hotel.
Is that building S2005? So good to see that in this video, I was in 70th BSB
Hmm, similar design to what we had on Casey back in 08 and 14. They had us sharing those bedrooms though. So it was like 4 dudes to a bathroom. I do not miss that base.
Omg how long where you there before you noticed the cabinet above your sink?😂😂 And when are you taking your trip bc I definitely wanna see that vlog!
That looks almost exactly like the room I was I was living in when I was stationed at Camp Hovey during 2002 to 2003 and I had room mate. I guess they used that same barracks layout for Army lower enlisted across different barracks in Korea. I think the cabinets and closet doors were the same color too. The only difference was we had a tub/shower combination and the bathroom floor tile I think was some sort of tan or brown color.
When I was stationed there, we had Quonset huts!
Keep grinding fashoo
Can you do a q&a video about what you do in the army and things you should know about it ❤️😩
Yes ma’am , definitely coming soon!
This is so nice compared to the older barracks
Lovely room! (:
Good ol camp Casey, I’m here now just starting a channel of my own 😆
lmaoo the toothbrush !
WOW.NO room-mates!!! You have it made!!! When I was in the army stationed at Camp Stanley,Korea everyone had room-mates,could tell you sooooo many horror stories about room-mates when I was n the army.
Your room is lovely, do you have to buy your own 4g Broadband or they issue you one? thanks I really want to know
Are you allowed to have a car at camp Casey
What unit are you in if I may ask?
No TV no AFN smh.. i had a 60 inch in my room 20 years ago at the top of 1/72 AR hill. Youll get there pri
Your voice is similar to my NCOIC's 25 years ago in Yongsan. Thanks
Is this the E4 and under barracks ?
Was in the billets on the top of the hill 90,91.

Please upload a lot of videos from now on
Ever heard of OPSEC😕??
A lot different than the shitty barracks I lived in back in the 90's! Lol good for you guys in today's modern army that you get a room to yourself and don't have community showers
Gonna be there in 2 months 😩 I’m so nervous
Don’t be nervous! I was too but I actually love it here
@@vanatiantv10 did you request not to have a roommate?
와 좋다
whats your mos?
Im a 74D
Thanks so much for serving our Nation but damn y’all are spoiled.🤣We lived in shit but hey we were Cavalry in the 80’s….just kiddin . Thanks again for your service!
You guys are living large compared to what we had in the early 70's. You guys don't have a clue how we lived and they didn't have any girls in the 2nd division back then. Wow! inside bathrooms when we had Quonset huts with a diesel heater in the middle of it with about 15 guys living in it. We had to go outside to the latrine. The road to Seoul was a two-lane dirt road. No cars were seen and the Koreans washed their clothes in the river on rocks.
hey sissy
