The Proton Satria Neo became the first FIA Homologated S2000 category rally car from an Asian car manufacturer in 2008.
The official debut of the factory Proton R3 Rally Team got off to a good start with podium finishes in the International Rally Challenge (IRC) in 2009. The team participated both in Europe and Asia throughout 2010 with podium finishes and the cars first overall win in the 2010 Malaysian Rally, part of the Asia Pacific Rally Championship(APRC).
In 2011, the team again campaigned in the IRC and APRC finally clinching a hard fought 2011 APRC Championship with Alister McRae and Bill Hayes. The championship was especially special, coming 6 years after the last time a Proton team had won it.
2012 was the last year the team competed in international events, this time participating in several rounds of the Super 2000 World Rally Championship (SWRC), as the 2nd tier of the World Rally Championship (WRC). This also included a rally in Thailand, where the team won the prestigious Queen's Cup and 1st overall in the International Rally of Thailand. In the SWRC, the team scored several podiums including wins in the iconic Rally Sweden and Rally Finland. The APRC was also much tougher with stronger competition, difficult conditions and ended the with the team finishing 2nd in the Championship.
Although 2012 was the last time the Proton R3 Rally Team participated in rallies, customer Proton Satria Neo S2000 rally cars continue to be used and rallied in Europe by several private teams till today.
Dream Street Restoration is now working on new project car, a revival of the R3 Proton S2000 Concept which was first displayed in Johor Bahru, in conjunction with the Rally of Malaysia 2012.
This very special Satria Neo R3 had a supercharged 1.6 CPS engine and S2000 rally car inspired design cues.

Boleh saya tanya satu soalan mengenai kereta yang tuan usahakan di dalam video ini.
Berapakah kuasa yang dijana oleh gabungan injin CPS yang digadingkan dengan supercharger?
Pada pandangan tuan adakah injin CPS lebih berkemampuan jika dibandingkan injin Campro IAFM?
Saya punya angan² apakah possible jika injin CPS digandingjan dengan gearbox DCT yang dikeluarkan Geely, your take on this, please.
