  • Exclusive interview with Pa Ayo Ogunshina of the Jacob, Papilolo and Aderupoko fame.
The trio can be credited as part of the pioneers that created opportunities for indigenous comedy in Nigeria. They were among the first set of Nigerian comedians to wax an album.
In the interview, Papilolo reminisces on his background, life in the 70s, social life in Nigeria’s economic capital, Lagos, the legendary Herbert Ogunde Band and many others.

The trio of Papalolo/Jacob/Aderupoko were geniuses whose comedy were sublime. They ought to be billionaires. You can tell Papalolo is so intelligent with the matured manner he makes even lewd remarks. These are real, raw, undiluted entertainers. 💪🏾

I deliberately watched it to the end expecting to know why he and Aderupoko could no longer work together after the death of Jacob. It is important that we learn to work together to secure enduring prosperity. I wish he and Aderupoko will still work together. With that, they will not need much favor from the young ones, rather the young ones will run to them. Please organize part two interview.

Correction on this statement "The trio can be credited for creating opportunities for indigenous comedy in Nigeria." That's not accurate. However, their contribution was/is significant, but they should not be confused as the first. Baba Sala was ahead of them, he was the first. In terms of album, I don't have enough information. I did enjoyed the trio at the time, "mesmerizing".

He was not the character you are referring to in the play "Idaamu Padire Mukailu". The similalirity is just walking but character was played by a well known Ibadan NTA actor. Padre Mukailu was played by pa Odunsi and Aderupoko was the one who confessed to him about killing someone but refused to go to the police.

Bashir Adebayo, you have to understand that Pa Ayo is a comedian and also exceptionally intelligent, thus he intentionally digress to make it funny, avoid any sensitive question and take absolutely control of the interview.
Personally, I will love to know more about his family e.g. wife(wives), children, etc., but Baba will always avoid those questions.
