Quick story about this song. I heard it on the radio back in 04 or so, and loved it, but didn't know the name of it. With no lyrics, I couldn't Google anything to help, and there were no apps or smartphones to help back then. I spent years trying to figure out what it was, randomly hearing it on the radio every so often. Finally found it after like 4 years or so on a "best guitar solo" list. Nearly cried when I heard it. Been a satch fan ever since.
This is exactly what I was just talking about to a friend of mine tonight. I spent 10 hours downloading this performance about 13 years ago and now it's just one click away. It's utterly nuts how times have changed.
04, lol. Now imagine 10 years earlier when it was new, no internet to help figure out what you just heard. I sat there all day listening to the radio hoping, praying to hear it again..
This is why Joe is incredible - not just for his virtuosic guitar skills, but for being able to write top notch, memorable instrumentals such as this. It is one thing to be able to play, it is another to write incredible, thematic instrumentals, which is what Joe always does successfully.
exactly man. anyone can play as Marty Friedman has said. anyone who has trained 24*7 in a closed room for a decade will be able to play anything his/her heart desires. but achieving the tonality and creativity and writing such memorable and heart touching music takes a whole next level of creativity and passion for the art.
Exactly, i have not heard any other guitarist who could compose music like him. It sounds like each and every note has fallen at the right place. He is simply incredible.
Props to the dude playing rhythm guitar. What a team player that really deserves more recognition filling out the sound of the band than he’ll ever get. What a fantastic gig. 🤘
Joe is fantastic, but there are many guitar players all around the world which are amazing and don't ever miss a note, go to see Andy Timmons, for example... a lot of expression, virtuosity and precision. And what about Guthrie Govan?.....
WE are in 2023. It's been nearly 30 years that i listen to that song and still have shivers. Formula 1 on PlayStation made me discover Joe's World, And ever since I played guitar and that song, which may one if my very favorite. I Love you Joe ! You're a LEGEND
This...this kids is music...real instruments, real musicians...soul...a groove and talent. Joe, this is my fave song of all time ever, never stop rockin man!
whats wrong with freakin weirdos ,ill bet theres something about you thats strange,we all have our secrets,me i dont give a fk what people think,i enjoy life ,you are not here to judge people .
History has never seen a man like Joe Satriani, and will never see anyone great like him. Satch is the real meaning of an unrepeatable and complete musician and guitarist. 🎶🎶❤❤👍👍
Joe Satriani is THE dictionary definition of instrumental electric guitar. He collaborates with such talented musicians you can read their joy of working with Joe Satriani. Massive respect to Joe.
Saw him live 3 times, each one with Stu Hamm on bass. His precision is unmatched, his sound control is unmatched . His music goes somewhere instead of just a bunch of fast scales played. He is the God of 'burn guitar".
The crowds aren't there to party, they're there to watch him play and perform. They want to see him do it Live. That's the majesty of Satriani's performance. No spectical: Everyone saying Prove It. And he's done it for years, longer than anyone else. He's an Alien. 👽🎸🎶
Sadly it was Jimi Hendrix's passing that inspired a 14 year old kid to pick up a guitar and never, EVER look back. Jimi must be smiling like a proud big brother to say WOW and I thought I was good!! JS the benevolent space Alien guitar god and my go to axe hero!!!
Jimi Hendrix did have his moments where he was unmatched by anyone. Star Spangled Banner at Woodstock and Machine Gun off of his Band of Gypsies album.
Joe is amazing, but can we give some love to Jeff Campitelli? He’s a machine! His drumming on the Crystal Planet album is some of the best I’ve ever heard.
Always cracks me up when people come to these video performances of star players and want to give love to the backing band members by name. Yeah, of course they're going to be great, a fucking master of virtuosic guitar isn't going to be playing live with a shit backing band!
He’s playing a great power groove that is what Joe needs here. Some drummers overplay when in this situation, but Jeff plays exactly what is needed for the song, no more no less. And his DW kit sounds fantastic if I may say so….
I´m a guitarist and Joe Satriani ´s guitar solos has been a great source of inspiration to me as long as I´ve played. (about 20 years now.) Keep up the good work, Joe!
I went to see him live back in 2016, whatever he does at @5:12 hit right in the spot. So amazing guitarist, and I'm happy I got to see him live. One of the greatest!
I know not many people even realise the difficulty in live sound, blending the bass with the kick drum, making the rhythm background without losing power, making the lead stand out without sounding screechy. This set up is simply perfection. Go ahead and turn it up, it'll sound better.
This song reminds me of a gorgeous summer day, flying down the highway with your hand out the window and the wind blowing your hair around, and this FABULOUS song blasting out of your radio!!! Every time I hear this song I get such a huge smile! Pure joy!!!!!!
Don't know how many times I've enjoyed this. Highly refined talent, from Joe's fast fret work to his extended trilling note - and that final crashing chord. The entire band is top-shelf. Helluva perfomance!
The performance at the Grove in Anaheim, next to Angel stadium. What a wonderful event. Joe appreciates his fans and responds with enthusiasm. Thanks Joe, for taking us musically to places we didn't know existed.
Such a fun song that gets me so pumped and happy ever time I hear it. Im not old enough to know what it was like to live in the 80s but I bet this is what it felt like. Sweet performance of an awesome song, from a great album.
I was incredibly lucky to watch these guys (each and everyone) live... it was the SWaA anniversary tour... my favorite Sathch's album with my favorite live line up (Jeff, Dave and Glenn playing with the master)... still got huge goosebumps for that performance...
I started listening to Joe many years ago, back when he had hair! He, in my opinion, is one of the greatest guitarists & there are lots of them out there! Keep on keeping on Joe - yu’re the man!!
There may not be a human ever to have existed who exudes as much confidence as Joe Satriani performing live. He knows he’s a legend. He knows he’s shredding. He knows he’s one of the only people who can pull off wearing sunglasses indoors. It’s such a treat to watch him perform live. He feeds off the crowd. The crowd feeds off him. He showboats but never comes across as arrogant.
Thanks for being a great friend to me and I really appreciate your support 💓 and I will always make you feel great 💖💖 kindly drop your Joesatriana8@gmail.com
Roses are red, violets are blue; when I listen to Satriani, my neighbors do too! 😎🤯🤩👌👍👏👏👏👏👏👏
Rock on!!
It's just 45th time i read this rhyme...
AND THAT IS HOW IS DONE ..RIGHT ON !!
went next door to my neighbour and told him to turn the music up as I couldn't hear it properly
HAHAHAHAHAHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAHA
an astronaut, a doctor, a fireman, a policeman, and also a guitarist. what a lad!
was that a johnny sins joke lmao
damn hahahaha
Summer song ? This is good all year long

Gididdy giggidy
Nice story!! He is unique !!! Stevie Vie and all Joe's compadries will say the same !! Great player and he makes awesome guitars!!!!
My favorite album is "Flying on a blue dream, because it's the only one that you will hear Satchmo sing , and he can!!!!
This is why Joe is incredible - not just for his virtuosic guitar skills, but for being able to write top notch, memorable instrumentals such as this. It is one thing to be able to play, it is another to write incredible, thematic instrumentals, which is what Joe always does successfully.

Joe certainly does have the gift of creativity and ingenuity that few have been given that talent from their Creator above...
Exactly, i have not heard any other guitarist who could compose music like him. It sounds like each and every note has fallen at the right place. He is simply incredible.
You got exactly the point. That's what makes Satriani one of the greatest.
Timliu92 not mention the great drummer and bass slammer..
🙂
Props to the dude playing rhythm guitar. What a team player that really deserves more recognition filling out the sound of the band than he’ll ever get. What a fantastic gig. 🤘
He's was also the road manager
@@fishfoolishness4222 and producer also i believe
And gets to learn from one of the best guitar teachers in the world :)
Joe really has a world class rythm section!
Galen Henson I think is his name, if I remember correctly.
The bass player is phenomenal!👏👏👏
Absolutely, Dave La Rue, I"ve seen him with Steve Morse on the G3 event and it's awesone
yes! saw him w/ Dixie Dregs as well
He is John Petrucci's solo album bass player too!!
He makes a difference with his energy and perfect fit with Joe, how enjoyable!
Probably the best guitarist ever. Not a single failed note, or out of time, or lack of expression. Joe is the man !
Joe was born with a guitar in his hands.
Agreed...but Steve Vai is just as good...if not better in some styles.
Dont forget Buckethead and John 5 !
Paul Sacco let's not forget who gave lessons to Vai 😏
Joe is fantastic, but there are many guitar players all around the world which are amazing and don't ever miss a note, go to see Andy Timmons, for example... a lot of expression, virtuosity and precision. And what about Guthrie Govan?.....

Zidane plays guitar and Puyol on Bass
I enjoy it . . .

This intro is the best thing in the world
Yes that guitar solos is just pure masterpiece!
Best Intro!
Best Instrumental Song!
I couldn't be more agree with you.
Yeah the audience was faked out by the intro which was very cool.
This...this kids is music...real instruments, real musicians...soul...a groove and talent. Joe, this is my fave song of all time ever, never stop rockin man!
Yes, it is.
One of the reasons why I love Joe so much is his ability to make the guitar “sing”. His song writing is so emotional and moving.
I love the way joe's appearance is totally unadorned - just the black outfit and the big smile. Everything else is in the playing and the performance.
And that stunning ibanez on his hands
*Joe is one of the most talented people in the world that isn't a freaking weirdo ..... he's just a cool nice guy!* 👍
Hey, his glasses are pretty weird! And his head looks like it's been surfing with the aliens!
He ROCKS SEEN HIM TWICE ALLWAYS !!!!!!
whats wrong with freakin weirdos ,ill bet theres something about you thats strange,we all have our secrets,me i dont give a fk what people think,i enjoy life ,you are not here to judge people .
This song is absolutely exhilarating. That’s all I’ve got.

Been wondering who plays bass. Obviously the satch has a good relationship with him, he's a killer bassist!
Stu Hamm....OH HELL YEAH
Dave LaRue on BASS
Joe makes it looks so damn easy and effortless (It isn't). And that is why is one of the greatest guitarists today. Period.
The crowds aren't there to party, they're there to watch him play and perform. They want to see him do it Live. That's the majesty of Satriani's performance. No spectical: Everyone saying Prove It. And he's done it for years, longer than anyone else. He's an Alien. 👽🎸🎶
Legends say he is still holding that note to this day
😆😅😄😃😂😁😀✌
Came here for Jeff Campitelli.
This trio is perfect. The best Drum and Bass for Joe's music.
Coolest guy on the planet.

Truth indeed! Roadrunner and Joe compliment each other.

awesome!!! I just got started..well last year ..slowly...not easy at all but my heart and soul is there..and my fingers lol
show us your vidoes bro..we are curious
this is the best music for NAscar , F1, Rally, Motocross, etc etc
😂 God damn, it is. Or, a Dragon Ball fighting game.
It's on gt4
It was on my national football highlights channel back in 2007
También como música de fondo para el fútbol, etc. The soundtrack of soccer game too.
Bass player is also amazing
The bass player is Dave Larue . If you want a true listen to mans ability listen to any track from the Steve Morse Band’s Stressfest album .
Ladies and gentlemen Jeff Campitelli beat like a beast. That groove!
A beast
4.00 mark is what it's all about !!!
I went to see him live back in 2016, whatever he does at @5:12 hit right in the spot. So amazing guitarist, and I'm happy I got to see him live. One of the greatest!
I love this song. Jeff Campitelli on drums looks like he’s having such a great time.
I know not many people even realise the difficulty in live sound, blending the bass with the kick drum, making the rhythm background without losing power, making the lead stand out without sounding screechy.
This set up is simply perfection.
Go ahead and turn it up, it'll sound better.
Give him the subwoofer + center ...👌🤣
@@tutti4807 So much work goes into making the sound before you even consider liste ing to it
its all balanced so nicely
The only band that requires no vocalist. Joe lets the guitar speak and sing
Love that no voice
He did sing on his 2nd album. Ride, Big Bad Moon(?), and I Believe.
Mark Light there’s also some on “is there love in space”
Absolute talent.
@@jesseclaborn749 You missed Buckethead.
Only person to make the wah pedal sound perfect and beautiful
Joe satriani in my opinion is one of the best guitar players alive today
This song reminds me of a gorgeous summer day, flying down the highway with your hand out the window and the wind blowing your hair around, and this FABULOUS song blasting out of your radio!!! Every time I hear this song I get such a huge smile! Pure joy!!!!!!
Thank you so much for your support and nice comment. Hope my music gives you joy? I really appreciate you ❤️❤️💋
You know you're old when you can picture the Sony boombox commercials that used this to promote their products back in the day. lol Satch is the man!
Everytime he plays it feels like we are surfing somewhere
Summer song 🤟Put this when its raining every drop of water become a sun.
Cruising speed on a desolate road from Abidjan to San Pedro, Ivory Coast, 4 friends, groovy SUV and this music! 2007! Unforgettable!
As much as it is a joy for us to hear this music.... you can also tell it is a joy for them to play it for us. Love these guys.
Masterpiece....Salute from Croatia...Long live Joe Satriani...
I swear. I have never seen someone hit natural harmonics so clear with distortion for as many times as he did.
Whenever I am in need of cheering up - I always play this. Absolutely uplifting symphony of sound.
This man is remarkable. In the top 10 of all-time. Thanks Joe for all you've done and continue. We are truly blessed. Pops
I had a good fortune to have drinks with him in the band after the G3 concert at Jones Beach in 1997 nicest guy you could ever meet
Melody, tecnique, feeling....SATCH! 💥
That quick backwards move at 1:53 to get to the wah in time :)
While playing the harmonics any sane normal guy would hold still for
He has such an amazing tone in this concert, love it!
Amazing, perfect, Satch is a god

I googled „best guitar players“
back 1999. Joe came up. I broght the G3 dvd. My life has never been the same. Thank you sir!
The solo that begins around 5:36 has always been my favourite part of this song.
Great tonality.
The verse is always my favourite
Yeah agreed. Incredible melodic phrasing. Only Schenker does it better.
Don't know how many times I've enjoyed this. Highly refined talent, from Joe's fast fret work to his extended trilling note - and that final crashing chord. The entire band is top-shelf. Helluva perfomance!
Best ever?......debatable.
Most humble, classiest guitar player ever?......Without a doubt.
The first time I heard Satriani play, i was hooked. This guitar sounds amazing 🤩🤘🤘🤘🤘
Best Summer Song live performance.
Right!!
I love this song!
I forget how long I have been listening to Satch...since his first music hit...never gonna stop
Joe Satriani and Jeff Campitelli playing together are the perfect match.
Yeah, I still don't process that Jeff is no longer his drummer, one of my fav drummers for sure
Always fantastic.
Thank You for new vídeos.

I’ve seen this 100 times. And I still get goosebumps and how good a player he is. That intro is pure art.
The performance at the Grove in Anaheim, next to Angel stadium. What a wonderful event. Joe appreciates his fans and responds with enthusiasm. Thanks Joe, for taking us musically to places we didn't know existed.
I saw him there in the 2000s, might have been this show. That place has great acoustics. Billy Idol sounded incredible too.
This is the best non-hair band I've ever heard!
Such a fun song that gets me so pumped and happy ever time I hear it. Im not old enough to know what it was like to live in the 80s but I bet this is what it felt like. Sweet performance of an awesome song, from a great album.
That groove! The best there is!
it was a tribute to AC/DC he likes Angus : ) and it's true , listen to whole lotta rosie
The best I have seen live and I have seen many starting with Peter Frampton at Cobo Hall when I was 12
Temazo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Joe Satriani managed to inspire modern rock guitaris!
Enjoying this perform.Great!
AMAZING ‼️
I was incredibly lucky to watch these guys (each and everyone) live... it was the SWaA anniversary tour... my favorite Sathch's album with my favorite live line up (Jeff, Dave and Glenn playing with the master)... still got huge goosebumps for that performance...
Love the intro, could be a new track all together. I’ve watched this so many times now, it doesn’t get old, ever!
All of this live is just historic! Great! Best!

~JOE'S MUSIC IS SO MUCH FUN..I CAN'T THANK YOU ENOUGH MR.SATCH FOR ALL THE GOOD FEELINGS YOUR SONIC EMOTIONS HAS BROUGHT ME 👏~
There may not be a human ever to have existed who exudes as much confidence as Joe Satriani performing live. He knows he’s a legend. He knows he’s shredding. He knows he’s one of the only people who can pull off wearing sunglasses indoors.
It’s such a treat to watch him perform live. He feeds off the crowd. The crowd feeds off him. He showboats but never comes across as arrogant.
Amazing
I love this lineup!❤️
You`r right, ithink its the best SATRIANI LIVE Line Up
My favourite track from the extremist album, when you hear this summer has arrived. Windows down ya know what I mean 😎🤘

Sustainiac, boy. It's amazing. I wish I could buy it, but I can't afford it though
You Saved my Life Joe!!!!
That intro...OMG
