John Petrucci performs Glasgow Kiss | G3 Live in Tokyo | Front Row Music
• John Petrucci performs... - Hudba
Best version of Glasgow Kiss ever. I keep coming back to this version.
Yes
Who is the original version by?
Yeah! And with the best drummer. This version that took me to the album, I met her first.
@@gulpix From John Petrucci himself. He refers to this live version, opening of G3 Live in Tokyo, in relation to the one on the album (Suspended Animation).
@@ismaelserpa ok thanks man
One guitar one bass one drum. Each one a master. ❤️
Exactly ❤️🙏
There's actually quite a bit more than one drum there.
Because other bands have 2 basses and 12 drums?
I mean they do have 12 drums
Indeed
@@Fuck_handles The rhythm guitar makes a big difference tbf especially in the world rock and metal. But the three managed to make a good rock/metal song without it.
JP and MP look like the maths and physics teacher of a school
This performance got me into guitar playing.
It made me quit.
Me too. John motivated me from the start
@@moustachio334 I picked up the guitar after stopping playing for 6 years when I heard this song. Man, it's so inspirational.
@@DaveTastexd
This one got me into metal 16 years ago! Good times...
That improvised solo might just be one of the best things I've ever heard. So much feel, precision, and melodic mastery.
Fully agreed
I love Petrucci and Satriani. Satriani can write tens of mind boggling songs, more than Petrucci can. But I don't think Satriani would be able to come up with something like this monster of an improvised Glasgow Kiss solo.
Lead guitar and drums yes yes but Let us all appreciate and massage the bassist's fingers for playing the entire song without rest.
You know thats legit hard.
dave la ruse is a monster.
He's my favorite, keeping the rhythm section tight.
nutella
I'm sure he has massive callouses on the tips of his fingers from playing all the time. That makes the job easier.
Dixie Dreggs alumni, should we expect any less? LOL@@0megalul309
him, pault gilbert, and steve vai are my top 3 favorite guirtarist
Satriani?
God!, This man is not human
Best guitarist of all time.
LaRue doesn’t get enough recognition in my opinion. He is an excellent talent on the bass.
Everything that ever happened is underrated hey
that's stu hamm. (i now know that it isn't stu hamm)
@@toddritter5638 lol. That's probably why he doesn't get recognition then 😂
@@toddritter5638 what about Stu Hamm? If you are saying the bassist performing with Petrucci is Hamm then you are mistaken. I know who Stu Hamm is. I have his solo stuff and have seen him live many times, mostly with Satriani. He is another incredibly talented bassist who doesn’t get enough recognition.
@@georgefustos7243 damn he really looks like him though. i sit corrected. he even plays a similar bass. good taste!
Stu Hamm, Bassist for Satch And JP...best gig ever!
Pretty sure that’s Dave LaRue 😅
My Bad !@@BuyTheChicken , I'm putting my comment down to a senior moment ( and beer) I shall leave it up for comedic purposes.
I'm Fairly Sure That's Frank Zappa On The Drums Too.....
@@chrislawrence309 anyway dave played with satch too
@@chrislawrence309 no that's ron jeremy
Dave LaRue rippin away on the bass in the background. Saw this guy with Planet X back in the day …absolute savage 😮
I wore this G3 VHS out as a kid
JP in his prime! No denying it
Yeap! The guitar tone is just amazing! Alt picking is awesome as well:)
I saw him live a few months with Dream Theater and he's still as sharp as a fine Japanese blade!
Bro casually improvised a solo better than 80% of kirk hammet's....
I had this theme on CD-RW disc before CZcams was even invented)
The absolute masterpiece forever. Thanks God I live in the times of the great John.
2:40 I still love this line after 13 years
3:03 That transition is so beautiful.
His expression at 3:15 says it all 😊
I still play that chord progression all the time but your'e right how it transition is amazing.
Petrucci looks so young in 2005. Great playing!
cause his not beardy yet😄
@@stavrouarma4826 LOL
Best version of Glasgow Kiss of recording studios
Bass player plays just like my stepdad. Gettin' all the sweet spots. Miss you Glenn!!!!!
When he just rips into the good ol’ blues at 6:56 Awesome
Buff John with long hair is my favorite iteration. So good
The music during this era was so good
Just the single note change at 4:34 really made that lick fantastic. I love the original too, but that is so satisfying to me
6:47 goosebumps
This is when John Petrucci hit legendary status
Im like Ingway ..Shreding ang Swefaking in Arpegio amazing
Damn, didn't know Ben Stiller did John Petrucci covers.
You're excused brah
Best version of this song. The improvisation to this song is just mind blowing.
I was around 14 when i first saw this, I was super into guitar at that time, all i cared about, but the drums stole my ears right away
Come for the guitar, stay for the bass! Dave LaRue is a BEAST!!!
I love the part when they sang
I heard a small bit of this song and thought, “I like Glasgow.” And “I like to play guitar.”
Then I listened to this video,
and thought: 🥺
What a player.
czcams.com/video/rvPih21UN-U/video.html
Love that bass line around 2:50
versi ini juaraaaa banget ... lebih okee lagi kalo petruci pakai Ibanez 😂 aarrrghh ..
Mike never knew he'll make a whole band with LaRue and wait, not any band, FLYING COLORS ladies and gentlemen.
I love this
Saw this when it first came out and I've never forgotten it. Finally watching again a little over 15 years later.
4:24-4:29 melodic genius
I've touched myself for the first time with this song. Sweet memories...
Tf is your problem
@@paulpv7 it wasn't a problem
I remember having this cassette. this version is really awesome..!!

Saya cuma punya DVD bajakan nya bro 😅
That bass sounds amazing
Appreciate the Bassist too, saluteeee !!!

I love so much how the drummer moves 😅
ทุกวันนี้ยังฟังอยู่ ชอบมาก สุดยอดครับ
ฟังได้ แต่เล่นได้แค่ท่อนเปิด 😂
I saw them in 2002 in the first G3 that John Petrucci joins, but not so close to this performance.
I remember because the end of his gig, something happened in the John's gear, in the medley "Paradigm Shift/Erotomania", that start the song again.
Virtuous band...man, this is mind bubbling. That shred near this end, that drum burst and the supporting base line. A perfectly crafted masterpiece.
Big Big Big thanks to re upload this video...The master
Fucking awwsome. Been listening to this version for ten years.
When u want ti trained your alternate picking this is the perfect song
After ten years of listening.to thiis. First time I listen to it whole. Second and third time i listen from 3minutes.
This live was the best in every version that I've ever heard. Not to be missed!
Each times I come back to listen to this song it manages to give me chills. John Petrucci is something else on the guitar, a true maestro at work. The sound of that guitar solo is just incredibly clean and stricking. 👌
I Saw This Tour Of G-3 And It Was Amazing! John's Playing Was Crisp Clean And Amazing!!! 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
Is it just me or does this piece have a Steve Morse feel? And Dave LaRue was SM bass player for years. An outstanding combo here.
Glasgow 💋
Dave LaRue on bass. SOLID.
He still young . Omg
Genio extraordinario....forever petrucci
Most rich , delightful and perfect solo ever , You simply can't add anything , this solo is filled with everything it needs
MP fills in is just purely gorgeous. Compliments the song well.
This is what i call art❤❤❤🎉
This is genius level , all musicians involved
handsome john
Thanks for sharing this video once again
mesa amps just have that pleasant snarling sound to them that you can really hear in the chorus of this song
Hearing for the 8297572th time here and still the same excitement 🔥
I heard this song live in Barcelona and it blew my mind, it's really incredible. G3 rules
This is the best cleanest version
Shit gets perfect about halfway through
I was there - how time flies
John's best looks
I really also enjoyed the bass. It was awesome too
Kerenn ... om jhon peatrucia.. akku dan dia🕵🤖 mengagumi dirimuu... dan instrumen miusik.nya sangatttt....😍😋😎😍😘😘😆😆😆😗😇😇😇🤗🤗🤗😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇
I haven't seen John without the beard in years
Wow that bass player is a busy bee
They were so young ...
Love from India❤

peace in ear and brain ..boss of melody ❤🩹❤🩹❤🩹
very nice
this beathfull song... happy my brotherrr
Starting from 03:05 . Hands down best melody of all time.. nothing comes close to this
All time favorite of mine
At the start of the video, John Petrucci concentrates his speed on his fingers and picking hand, while slowing down the rest of his body 🤣
Amazing Song
What a performance
This version is so clean sound ever. i listen it every single day.
This is the best version of glasgow kiss
Best performance
genio, genio, genio
Perfect mastering !
Hadn't seen this version in a while, it's a good as I remember. This may have been prime, but I been listening to LTE 3 lately...Damn!
The best....end.
