I used this blind for deer hunting this season czcams.com/users/postUgkxvlQxmcZQzSQSYbJsEgAGvG2DaduKTV99 and will use it again for turkey this coming April 19'. The only common sense thing I recommend is wear all black to cover your upper body considering the inside of the blind is black and dont open unnecessary windows to silhouette yourself. Other then that, spray some water proof spray on the seams and roof. Dont forget your comfy chair, happy hunting.
awesome video i have been thinking about making me one an your video looks really easy thanks
Looks great, do you have any plans for your shooting house? Would appreciate it. Thanks
Great Video!
I built one similar to this in July. The negative with using metal is the amount of noise it makes if you hit while in the stand. I found some old foam mating used for kids play areas. The kind that pieces together like a puzzle and used it for the flooring. I also used a 2x6 for the window openings, 2 benefits from that. First, shooting rail covering the metal. Second, keeps water from running down the inside. Then I used roof flashing as a drip rail on each window. I placed it between the wood and metal siding. I hope this helps and good luck
Not sure how expensive this would make it but maybe for next year you could spray the inside with great stuff foam that will help with noise and insulation, or find some spray foam insulation. I am going to build one of these bc it seems about the easiest off all I've seen on here and that is what I am planning on doing. If you do it let me know if it works
Very well done
great job! looks good! can you send a detailed video
That looks great. Do you have a materials list or a sketch?
Is there a second video for the windows and/or base?
How’d you screw in the 2x4’s you put all around the top of the base?
good job friend
Awesome! Can we get a cut list & plans?
Good job like to see you put this on a platform plus it will cost for that also unless you have the stuff to do it. But I like it I might build the same kind….
The comer rake as you called it or the end and gable trim how did you cut those so they would over lap for the roof
You cut the top at a 45 degree angle and then cut the bottom flange and bend it around the corner.
Built one. It’s awesome. Put a door on the back of mine.
Yassss
No further instructions needed for me. You pretty much explained everything someone would need to know on how to build this. The only thing people may ask is about the actual dimensions you cut everything too. But like you said that if you have any idea on how to build something then just go ahead and make it any size you want it. I like that it is high enough for you to stand in and not hit your head or bow while drawing it back. Next thing you need in it is a wood stove to keep the little ones warm so that they don't move around trying to stay warm...lol Really love that you want to include your children in joining you and Anna with all your adventures. Would you happen to know approx. just how much it weighs??? Will be looking forward on the base build and really excited on the seeing the video on putting it in place on the farm. Just remember to keep the language PG 13....lol. Good luck on this upcoming season and will be patiently awaiting on seeing some of your successes. Tom in Nova Scotia Canada. Oh yeah I guess I am first tonight :-) :-) .
people going bonkers using old metal fuel tank stands here now. used to be able to get them for under $100 with the tank. now over $200. but it will never rot and are very strong (0 if they can hold 300 - 500 gallons of fuel you could have a lot of people in there no problem
@@northrockboy where can i get one of these tanks??
How did you slope your roof?
Now get some kind of black rubber coating on the inside flax seal
1. It well kill the sound from the metal siding
2. Black will hind you in there better
Did you insulate the blind??
Trying to build something similar to this. So far I’ve only go $100 into it.
If you put tar paper on before putting metal holds heat in much better
You should have framed the walls
What tool is he cutting the metal with?
It’s a metal cutter that connects to a drill gun or impact gun! They sell them on Amazon or Lowe’s and Home Depot!
@@hutsonoutdoors2842 thank you!!
I hope you've priced plexiglass ... !
Q? What climate do you live in? How tall are you?
How did you get it out of your garage? Where's the finished build video?
You could use herculiner on the metal before installing the panels and it should deadend the sound..worth a try.
What's the easiest way to cut that metal??
Shears that connect to a cordless drill or impact drill!
How to build a deer blind
First
Get
1. free 2x4
2.free tin
3.free old privacy fence wood
Then all you need is to buy niles
Gotta insulate it if you want noise reduction and the metal walls and roof are loud asf.... I would never use metal on a deer blind....
Where's the door?
Klell Lawrence in the floor
Why have windows that big???
Where is the door?
I came here to ask that....
He's going to cut a hole in the floor and climb in from the bottom.
wheres the door ?
Go refigure the price now!!!! It’s more than double what you paid now!!! Lumber prices are disgusting and don’t know how ANYONE can afford to build 💩 these days!!🤬🤬🤬
Trap doors suck! Never again.
My hunting blind use to cost like $15.00 for a limb saw cut a few branchs down and hide behind them. Modern day "hunters" don't hunt they wait in blind over a food plot. LOL HUNTER yea right.
Here's a very unique idea. I'm sure no one has ever heard of it before.
Get out of the stands and actually go hunting. Go out and learn to stalk your quarry, and try to get close to take that shot. Stop being fat dumb and lazy and actually get out there and "LEARN" to hunt your prey instead of sitting in a heated hotel room in the middle of the woods with a WAY overpowered rifle trying to hit Deer 5 times further away than you've ever practiced. That's not hunting. Get out and become ONE with nature and hunting. It's so much more rewarding.
Calm down he can do what makes him happy.
@@bradleyfarve Shhhh..... grown ups are talking.
Rico11b keyboard Warrior I see.
Haha.... You know nothing about this guy! You obviously don't watch the videos 🙄 🤣
@@bradleyfarve Ya know what they say. Takes one to know one.
Hunting blinds are for people who have no hunting skills in my opinion. I dont see how sitting around scratching your nuts waiting for game to come to you is hunting. Come to New Mexico and try real hunting skills.
its for the cold days when you want to go inside after a hour of sitting bc its 0 degrees out. just choose to hunt the blind and stay warm
You don't wander around looking for deer in Michigan. If you do, you won't see much. Blinds are essential.
Come up to Michigan and try hunting. We'll see who has real hunting skills then in the cold weather LOL!!!
To each his own different strokes for different folks
I do both. I like the spot and stalk method and the blind allows me to sit and observe the deer without the weather issues. Like live tv.
